I have a dash cam, infact 2 in my car. One on the front and one at the back.
I remember reading an article in gulf news that stated it was OK as long as the footage is not posted on social media and can only be used to show the police in case of an accident.
Not sure about recording someone on the street breaking the law when no accident involved, that gets classed as invasion of privacy. ( edit: Link below states it is ok to record and share with the police only) Remember the guy who bought the number plate D4 for some millions, someone recorded him parking in a no parking space, he was fined but also filed a complaint against the person who recorded the video for invasion of privacy and that guy was fined too because he shared it on Facebook.

@MisterPoet you are welcome but you have to wetsand with 3000 grit paper, that is what will restore the shine. The 2000 basically removes the oxidation and leaves the surface rough, the 3000 will smoothen it out and give the gloss.
You should be able to get it at any hardware store.

If he was deflated properly. He would have easily towed out the vehicle in the 1st or 2nd attempt.
Maybe he was in a situation like me as described earlier and didn't want to deflate. I think this is Frasier Island in Australia and you have to cross this Sandy patch to get to the beach where you really don't need to deflate. So maybe he was thinking he could get away with it.
Someone who buys a car like that and then mods it as seen is not new to off roading and in general Ozzy off-roaders do off road in the desert but not like us here. Point is they are not alien to it
Totally agree with what you said about not wanting to deflate for just one soft patch, but I think the whole idea of the video on this thread is more of an example to show the not so advanced offroaders here what not to do when trying to recover. With experience each one may take a different route but for those who are still learning, it's more about just a recovery and not where it is and whether it is just a soft patch at that point.
With experience and once you know the path well, more advanced drivers may try the exact same thing as in the video based on the situation but for us who are just learning the tricks of desert driving, what @Gaurav said makes sense.
Just my 2 cents and stand to be corrected if wrong.

Not deflated. Looks like he is making a show for the by standers there kicking up all that sand. Also, with all the sand he has kicked up, it's not the best for the car being recovered as it's being pulled into a trenchmade by Mr. Shirtless.
Deflate, multiple slow tugs to get the stuck car moving and then a steady pull without the wheel spin may help. Not to forget the communication to make sure the car being recovered is ready and not sitting on his brakes when the recovery starts.

Check your tire pressure too, under or over inflated tires can effect the mileage, also, I have seen a lot of people here keep there cars idling for extended periods. If you are checking this only for the last 90 km, 5 minutes of idling will drop at least .2 on your economy.
Check it a couple times over 500km intervals.

For an engineer, put it on B4 sheet of paper with the electrical wiring to the headlight and all the dimensions possible and then put down the steps to sand the headlight.. he will figure out how to do it. 😂

Dont be scared to try doing it your self. I have done it on a few of my cars of the years.
1. Wet sand with 2000 grit sand paper till all the discoloration is gone. Let dry for 10 minutes or start doing the other side.
2. Once dry, wet sand with 3000 grit or higher to get the smooth glossy finish. Let dry for 15 mins.
3. Wax with any car wax and maintain it. The next time u notice it getting yellow, go straight to the 3000 grit sandpaper and buff immediately and wax.

I did not know what to expect on an intermediate drive but in a few minutes realized why newbie and fewbie drives are called relaxing drives😄.
Honestly I would not have dared to try a drive like this in the Grand Cherokee, but knowing the carnity family always put safety first and are always willing to train and help gave me the confidence to give it a shot.
Thanks to @Emmanuel @Frederic and @Javier M for the patience they had with me. I know I slowed you'll down quite a bit. Being the first drive at this level, I was not really sure how the JGC would handle so didnt want to push to much till I got a feel of it. Pretty sure @Emmanuel would have gone for a 100km drive instead of 60 km had I kept up. 😀
@Javier M thanks for the 2 recoveries when I crested myself. i still need to get the straight up straight down sorted out, always think I am going to nose dive on one of those so end up taking my foot of tha gas to early.
Thanks again guys for the wonderful drive. Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you guys. Special thanks to @Rahimdad @Gaurav @Emmanuel and @Srikumar for helping me along the way to tame the beast. Still have a lot to learn and look forward to the support and all the training that you guys have to offer. Been a wonderful ride so far and looking forward to a lot more.

I get the car washed once a week, generally the day after the desert drive and for the rest of the week, get a good duster and dust the car everyday.
More washes means more swirl marks on the car.

Just an update, was not able to source the transmission hose anywhere in Sharjah too so I ended up getting the aluminium welding done to the old hose and it seems to be working fine now. Just need to get the ECU reset now since the transmission oil was changed.

Suspecting it happenned on the night drive in Qudra. Took quite a bad hit there and the mechanic who took it out suspects it took a hit once before the skid plate was put.

Go to royal pipes in sharjah with a sample and they will make a new one right there in 10 mins with the correct fitting. Jusr tell them what is for so they use the right kind of material.

Did look into the welding option but it broke at the point where it locks into the cooler and it's to small to weld there.

Hi Guys, recently noticed my 2017 JGC jerking at low speeds but thought may be just a plug issue or a single cylinder misfiring. A few days ago it started suddenly losing power and then picking up again but would not go past 3000 rpm.
Yesterday was driving down Sheikh Zayed road and all was fine till I touched my brakes. As soon as I slowed down, lost power completely and saw a lot of oil on the ground. Got the jeep moved to a service centre and when lifted up saw that the transmission oil aluminium pipe to the cooler had broken. Been trying to get this part to replace it but no one, not even trading enterprises has it in stock and say it would take a month to source.
Does anyone know of any place where I may be able to get a second hand replacement that I can use at least till the new one comes in as cant afford to be without the car for a month. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
