    Hello @Vanessa8580,

I was promoted to fewbie plus a couple month back (even though I did not do fewbie plus drives yet since).

so I understood that as fewbie plus with less than 2 fewbie plus drives you could register to the fewbie level.

I am also booked to a fewbie drive this coming week end (14th). So this will be 4 fewbie drive in the last 3 month + fewbie plus level. I was hoping that would be sufficient ?

(in addition I have 11 intermediate drives with another club (Abu Dhabi 4x4), in case that could help

I was really looking forward to this drive, since 1 year when I could not make it last year. Can you consider putting me back on.

    Best regards,

    Pascal

@Pascal sorry, I made a mistake and already added you to the drive again. I missed the fact that you are fewbie plus. Again, my apologies ...

The same for @Richard Franks I added you back to the drive ...

@Vanessa8580, with Friday drive i would have 2 fewbie drives. Would that be enough to join LIWA drive?

im a bit confused of the first two conditions 🙂 because they are the same conditions of fewbie plus drive with Kailas..

@Ahmad Nerat You will need at least 5 fewbie drives to be able to join the drive ...

The 2nd condition only applied to Fewbie plus level so I removed it.

  3. Let's aim to cross the Liwa Crescent from one side to another.

To experience the magic of Rub’ al Khali (Empty Quarter) the largest uninterrupted desert on Earth!

The Liwa Crossing through Empty Quarter offers a chance to witness nature in its purest form and in itself is a transcendent experience. However, traveling through the largest desert in the world is not something that should be taken lightly.

It will be a 150 - 200 km off-road drive covered within 1.5 days through amazing breathtaking views and the enormous size of dunes on earth.

    What you will find here:

    • Tallest sand dunes (200 - 300 meters)
    • Steepest incline and drops
    • Longest side sloping
    • Broad ridge riding
    • Faster heartbeat
    • Sweaty hands

    liwa2020.jpg

Mandatory rules for Liwa Crossing (exceptional) drive.

Considering its seriousness to keep you and your vehicle safe, these strict rules will be applied to all.

    • For Fewbie level you must have driven at least 5 Fewbie drives with Carnity in the last 3 months.
    • It is highly recommended to drive alone, as it's a very serious and demanding drive to stay focused at all times.
    • Maximum of one passenger allowed - No exceptions and trip lead will send you back.
      • Make sure that passenger has no fear of heights, motion sickness and have been to full-day off-road drives before.
      • As once we enter the desert, the only way out is from the other side, without any early exits for 100-150 kms.
    • Everything in your car should be strapped and secured - All vehicles will be checked by the trip lead.

    Drive Preparation:

    • Your car should be in 100% pristine working condition, so double or triple check everything.
    • Full-size spare tire with a lug wrench to match your wheel nut size and its depth.
      • For aftermarket rims - Your lug wrench also needs to match the wheel nut depth.
    • As it's a long full-day drive, so catch up with enough sleep in advance.
    • 5-10 liter of water per person.
    • Snacks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and next day breakfast.
    • Keep your car as light as possible by packing what is truly essential.
    • Fully charged radio with spare battery and all other required off-road gears.
    • Gas tank and required number of jerry cans should be full upon arrival.
    • Last petrol station is ADNOC Khanoor (832): https://goo.gl/maps/FSUzbzURjQRGvFVN9

    Hi everyone.

Thanks for a great and inspiring drive.

Most of what I had of comments has been said very well already by @heyns holtzhausen and @munkybizness. I would like to add, that it has been along time since I had to level parts of a dune out for the recovery to succeed, but it worked 😆

@Vanessa8580 and @Ahmad Nerat I hope your cars recover fully :) Quite the unlucky dips you had.

I did manage to get a picture at the end:IMG_7481.jpeg.85b7a7515993a379ae472a166e298be3.jpeg

@Vanessa8580Do you have any feedback for @heyns holtzhausenand me, now that we have completed our first drive with Carnity?

Hope to see you all on drives in the future.

    Kind Regards
    ./Daniel

Thanks @DanielN, my car is absolutely fine, just a bit bruised but to be honest, my Big Blue is used to that by now. I already asked my mechanic to look for another bumper 😁

You and @heyns holtzhausendid amazing for your first drive and you helped in every way you could do that’s all I ask for. I hope to see you both soon again in the sand !

    Evening @Vanessa8580

This will finally be my first drive with Carnity, after joining in June 😋

I drive a 2011 FJ cruiser and my experience goes back to 2006. At that point I was out every weekend with various groups and friends. The last few years it's become more a winter camp and bbq fun drive experience with the family and friends on a monthly basis.

I do have a flag, compressor, deflators, and a radio.

Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the drivers.

    Regards,

    Heyns

Looking forward to meet you too Heyns ! See you Saturday

  11. Hi Nathan, welcome to Carnity.
I am driving a LWB stock Pajero and I am loving my Big Blue ! You made a good choice with the car, they are very reliable and once you get to really know your car you can do anything with it, even making it to Marshal like I did 😁

Good luck and I hope to see you soon in one of my drives 😉
