It was great to meet you this morning. You all did an amazing, we had a very smooth drive with a minimal of refusal so we were able to cover over 40 kilometers which is very good for a first drive. You should all be proud of yourselves !
Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive anymore. Drives are announced every Monday at 11am, and they go live on Monday evening at 7pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted.
For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag, compressor and radio as a MANDATORY requirement.
- Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely
- Learn to fix a flag on your car
- Learn to program and fully charge your radio

Thanks for your Suggestion, but they both are very excited to be part of this Drive.. There is no question of nervousness as such but still if you think it can be risky, please suggest..
It’s up to you 😉

If it’s your first drive in the desert, I would suggest leaving your wife and son at home. It’s better to have no distractions in the car. Some people get nervous on their first drive.

Hi @Vanessa8580 My name is Mayami.
1. My car is 2010 Pajero3.8L LWB
2. I have zero off-roading experience and my general knowledge on the same is limited. But I am passionate and a big fan of it.
3. Standard front and rear points as manufacture default.
I unfortunately will be unable to bring the following. But willing to have them organize after the first drive. Please let me know if I am still qualified to participate without the below.
For your very first drive with us, we would like to ask you to bring a pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. (the one near the gas station is usually defective).
Welcome @Mayami Raingam
If you don't have a deflator, you can always use your keys to deflate your tires. It's going to take a little longer but that's okay.
You will need a pressure gauge though, you can find them in any gas station along the highway or a hardware store.
If you don't have a compressor, you will have to drive 15-20 kilometers to the nearest gas station on deflated tires which can damage them, I am just letting you know.

Hi Vanessa, I am not an Absolute Newbie, I had a few drives with other clubs and it will be my first drive with Carnity. So, am i an Absolute Newbie for you or shall i follow Newbie Drives? ☺️ Thank you!
Good morning @iremmeri
Because it is your first drive with Carnity, you will have to complete an absolute newbie drive first before you can move on to regular newbie drives. Looking forward to meet you on Sunday !
@G300 @Amit Seth @Deepak 11 @abms2ktrooper @Gurcharan Mehta @iremmeri @Mohamed Khalifa
Welcome to Carnity.
As a basic introduction, kindly reply to the following:
1) which 4x4 are you bringing ?
2) Do you have prior offroading experience ? If so please clarify
3) Does your vehicle have front and back towpoints ? This is mandatory before being eligible to join.
Tools Needed
For your very first drive with us, we would like to ask you to bring a pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a compressor to inflate your tyres after the drive. (the one near the gas station is usually defective).
The next tools you will be needing from second drive onwards, are a walkie-talkie, offroad flag, and a decent shovel. If by any chance you have these tools already you are of course welcome to bring them along on your first drive.
This is an Absolute newbie drive. You already completed 3 drives with us so I kindly request you to sign up for a newbie drive. I will remove your name from this drive.

That's a funny story:
As a European (who had never seen an FJ Cruiser), i moved to Saudi Arabia in 2012 and found this wonderful blue FJ which was an American Import with a bit of miles on it, but zero offroading history. On the first weekend i took it into some sandy area (not really dunes) and though i was deflated, the car got stuck in minutes.
Soon, some locals approached me and tried to get the car out (blip blip was unknown to me back then..) And suddenly one of the locals got inside the car and asked "where is the 4H lever" to which i had to admit this car did not had it and i assumed this was because the FJ was permanent 4x4.
Long story short: my nice Blue FJ was a 4x2 model (yes not a 4x4). 😅
Kept it anyways as during that time i was not in a club and only went camping and BBQ ing with friends on nearby flat areas with gentle dunes, so with some deflation i could manage.
Sold it in 2014 as i moved back to Europe for a year, and only came back to Middle East in end of 2015 and bought my little Pajero in 2017 here in Dubai.
Our Smurf car ! Oh, we loved that car, didn’t we ?!
So sad we had to sell it … -
