  1. @Gurcharan Mehta, I think it's time to change your avatar :-)

Following the 500hp monster up the hill isn't easy in an under-powered and beat-up pajero, but I believe I did achieve something last night and managed to keep up just right (often had to give @Gurcharan Mehta a lot of space before speeding up as his great car does not need any runway, unlike mine - that's why @Cristian asked me why I'm not moving - I just needed much more space to speed up before the climb).

    And I believe we did that 2000 m, didn't we @Ale Vallecchi ?

Some of the ridges were bumpy but fun nonetheless. @Sunil Mathew on that photo looks almost as if trying to take off:

After visiting badayer and lisali desert so many times, I am pleased to see there are so many tall dunes here, and you don't really need to drive all the way to Abu Dhabi to have a decent view:

I hope you guys enjoyed the ride as much as I did! Thank you all and see you next time!

  2. My first F+ drive and I immediately realized how big of a difference it is: everybody on time; straight to business and ready to go; I was the only one getting refusals ;-) and there was only one weird popout but @Fabien Monleau fixed it even before we all looped back to help (amazing job). I understand where @Looper got his nickname! The loops were often brutal and very demanding, but fun nonetheless. It was intense like never before since I joined - often reaching rev-limit on second gear in my humble dune buster (approx 110km/h) going around the slope... that's a G force I did not expect!

    Some of the loops:

    And some more:

I guess the only way it's possible is because of the weather - you can go around and around over the same tracks without destroying the dune - that's how compacted it was...

Thank you all for the opportunity to drive with you gents!

  3. Mine started blinking couple months back during one desert drive. But restarting the car did it for the next couple of days... But it comes back. And as Frederic mentioned - it's related to the vacuum system. Funny enough - ever since amazon delivered the part, I have not seen the blinking thing since. I keep the solenoid in the glove box so I can replace it if needed, but so far it didn't come back (since Dec). I told myself that I would replace it anyways next time I'm working on the car... and I forgot completely until I saw this post.
