Brijesh Kumar
Actually, I don't want to go for 2nd option as a second-hand engine is not going to work longer. I want to get my car engine fixed properly with the best possible rate. any approx idea, how much it is going to cost me? @Faisal, is it safe to drive the car to the repair center? Faisal khan
@Brijesh KumarUnless we don't perform basic checkups i can not give you any idea on costing, for general idea let us do the diagnosis first. If you think it's unsafe to drive i can send you my recovery truck to collect the vehicle from your place.
shadow79
just keep your engine oil level in check so not to further the matter already at hand and yes you can drive it but if its smoking really bad then you might get a fine from the authorities.... shadow79
@Brijesh Kumar its not that all the 2nd hand engine are lottery but the car you have is not much used in the japan market thus cant get a japanese used part for it the kia and hyundai is usually imported from the singapore malaysia and american market and its really tough to assess the damage without the tear down you will have to open up the engine to assess the damage then only you could get the right cost of the fix unless you giving it out on contract then its will only be a fixed price whatever behind that will be bared by the business but you shouldn't be going that route Edited November 19, 2018 by shadow79 more info
Faisal khan
yes its true @shadow79 without dismantling engine exact repair cost can not be rectified, but general diagnosis can give at-least idea about cost in best, worst and average case
desertdude
I/we meant 2nd opinion, not option, big difference. If you want a somewhat informed response from the members you'll have to answer the queries posed by them including me. I'm still not sure how a motor with only 55k is smoking unless something drastic has happened to it, which was previously asked and there was no answer from you. It could be something simple as a blocked PCV pipe causing blowback or a blown head gasket. No one will know or make an educated guess unless there is more information passed on from your side
Brijesh Kumar
@desertdude, I brought this car from dubizzle three years before when it was 29000 KM ran. Nothing drastic has happened, the only thing I know, two days back from the incident found I run the car at120 km/hr speed for 40 KM and took some high race on the exhilarator. Brijesh Kumar
As I said before, I already got the car inspected by DynaTrade and they said its an engine fault. @desertdudeblocked PCV pipe or blown head gasket , is it checked by opening the engine ? desertdude
It wouldn't help answering that question if you already don't know the answerto that. As advised get a second opinion from a second shop and even a 3rd opinion from a third. If it is really smoking, then yes the engine needs to be opened up and rebuilt, which in turns equal to a lot of $$$$$$$ Or just keep on driving it as is. Keeping an eagle eye on oil and coolant levels. OR sell it. Still having a hard time believing such a low mileage motor is smoking. Good luck
shadow79
nothing bad happens if you are throttle happy unless if you are in the middle of the desert....☺️
