Cuts on the tyre

Hi guys;

Today i noticed deep cuts on my front right side tyre at my SLK200. Any idea why this will happen? Also is this look safe to drive or should i change immediately. If i am goingto change i am thinking about Continental Contisport5. Where i can get a good deal at Continental tyres?

Maybe a manhole cover? I lost 2 tyres in a week because of the manhole covers in sports city. As for safety, depends how deep it is, use your own judgement. Stick a coin in and spread it a bit and see. If you can see the canvas it’s best to chuck them but if it’s just on the tread and not down to the surface rubber it might be ok. Just keep an eye on it for bulging. If it starts to bulge, don’t drive on it.

I decide to change it anyway. My wife is driving it mostly. If it fall on the road she might have unpleasant time.
