removing COP assembly

How do I remove the coil over plug assembly mounting bolts of my 2003 Ford expedition when the screw that holds the assembly in the cylinder head appears to be stripped? there is one mounting bolt heads for each Coil Over Plug system.

The only solution to remove the stripped bot is get the another bolt head welded on top by lathe guys and then try unscrewing it. I am not sure how safe is to do the welding in engine area, but i had similar problem in wheel nut and done that and it worked.
