aboo Ibraheem
The Dubai Roads and Transport authority will remove the daily AED 24 cap on Salik road tolls in July, it was announced on Sunday. Previously, commuters who crossed the Salik gates more than six times in a day were only required to pay a maximum of AED 24. But, starting July 15, commuters will no longer benefit from the limit. An RTA statement said the decision will only affect a small portion of commuters, as 95% of private vehicles do not cross the gates more than six times a day. RTA said the move will encourage motorists to use alternative routes such as Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (former Emirates Road). Two new Salik gates were inaugurated on April 15, bringing the total number of gates to six (Mamzar, Aiport Tunnel, Garhoud bridge, Maktoum bridge, Safa and Barsha). http://en-maktoob.news.yahoo.com/blogs/the-971-report/dubai-s-rta-to-remove-salik-daily-cap-102510954.html

ethan
I heard that Dubai police is coming up with a certificate for drivers who has clean driving history no serious traffic offences on your name. This is a good way to encourage those road rage. Last week a tanker flipped spilling oil on the road, seems like that drive was in hurry for some reason best known to him.
