shehzaad81
my check engine light was on and i am told by the mechanic the at the radiator is cracked .so i went in for a second opinion as it was difficult for me to gulp it down and he said it is due to 2 plug wires being off burnt up the ignition coil.any advice on what could be the genuine problem
nutbolt
Ignition coil and radiator is actually stays POLES APART in discovery, exactly opposite to each other (very far). Mechanic is bull shitting. See someone else. Secondly if radiator is cracked, is there is any noticeable or fine leak have you notice or reduction in coolant level? If not DO NOT CHANGE THE RADIATOR. If yes, still get second opinion.
vandom
what are the other causes of getting check engine warning?
nutbolt
There are so many reasons to have check engine light. Some are serious like weak cylinder pressure in any of the cylinders, some are minor like plugs, ht leads etc. Better to get computer test done and that will read the exact fault code to pin point you in right direction. If there is no error code, ask them to clear this fault and you check if it happen again. Sometime loosely close fuel cap at petrol station can cause this to have check engine light too.
