Low Brake Fluid

Recommended Posts

Just a while back got low brake fluid warning, so check the level and it was at min. So added fluid to make it to Max. Next day morning saw same fluid leaked on floor and leverl came back to Min exact.

Still light flashing. Then got all the four brake pads changed and light went off for two weeks.

Now everyday light is flashing once or twice in every drive. No leaks have been noticed if i am not adding any fluid. And fluid level is perfectly at Min.

Is there any sensor is freaking or something else?

Please help guys to find a permanent fix for this issue.

Thanks in advance.

You need to make sure all of the rubber O ring in booster are fine. And nothing leaking from all 4 caliper on wheels. If all these are good, then you need to change the brake fluid sensor which is inside the brake fluid container and wiring coming from top of it. Good luck

Finally my problem got solved. interesting discovery though. Sorry for late comment.

Brake fluid canister have two filters: one on top and one on down from where it goes to black hose. Removed and cleaned both, and then remove the soft rubber from cap so that returning brake fluid can breath air out and leave the fluid in canister.

All in all it was strange and weird, but it cured the problem and now no light is flashing, and brake oil sit slightly more than MAX level (when cold) and still not returning from cap like before and leaking when switched off.

Hi Gaurav,

Any other problem you faced with your Range Rover in the ownership so far, as i am planning to buy one so want to check whether it is really expensive to maintain and troublesome car or not?

As lot of people talk too bad about its expensive maintenance and prone to problems in this region (hot weather).
