Please share what was your worst car problem ever happened? Why and how it happened (if you know)? And how you dealt with it?

My worst was recently a damaged clutch cylinder that lead to the problem of being unable to shift gears. Happened in a remote area in the middle of Oman, but made it down to Salalah where it could be fixed within two hours. Good thing about (most) Land Rovers is the simple mechanics.

Hey walther, welcome back. Sad to see this happening in deserted land, glad you found someone in salalah and came back home in good shape.

Now i understand that why my freind carried extra radiator in his defender as he was doubting his old rusty radiator to fail.

Having to replace the head gaskets on a 4.6efi in the Oman empty quarter was a nightmare. Lucky I had all tools and a spare gasket set available.

Another nightmare was in Saudi, having to rebuild a series III radiator after the fan shattered and ruptured it. An entire night around the campfire managed to fix it and drive 200km home without losing a drop of coolant!

Replacing a clutch on a 110 in the UAE Liwa took a bit longer than planned!

Streaky u seem to have great luck with green oval failing on you thrice in most critical and dangerous terrain. Good u are DIY types, otherwise big problem.
