tobye Posted October 6, 2012 Report Share Posted October 6, 2012 My mechanic says that the O2 sensors on the exhaust pipe need to be changed but i dont know why when i just went for getting the fuel filter changed as the car was giving bad fuel efficiency . antee Posted October 7, 2012 Report Share Posted October 7, 2012 the sensor makes sure that the air and fuel is mixed in correct ratio if the air is more then the fuel quality will decrease and if the air is less then the fuel will leave residue that will harm the car again and exhaust too. blackArmada_DXB Posted July 31, 2013 Report Share Posted July 31, 2013 The thread has been created long ago, but I will give my inputs on this anyway. If there is no Check Engine Light (CEL) then the O2 sensors are probably working fine. A CEL doesnt always mean that O2 sensors need to be changed. You should hook up a diagnostic tool to the OBDII port and get the DTCs and then troubleshoot and solve the error. Would have saved you $$$.
