anton
hello friends. i have a 2008 BMW X3. a few months ago the transmission started getting a little sticky but i kinda ignored it. then shifting gears got increasingly harder. now theres a horrible shuttering kinda sound the transmission makes every time you shift gears on top of the fact that the shifting itself requires serious muscle. my son tells me i am heading towards a total transmission failure. have any other X3 owners ever been through anything like this?? any suggestions?? akram
a lot of x3s manufactured between 2008 and 2010 have this problem. its a pity the people over at bmw didnt even bother to recall them. I have personally been a victim of this problem long ago. Thank god i got out of it by selling off my car
joy
Transmission issues seem to be becoming a norm across the board now. I actually read a couple of days ago that nearly all manufacturers are installing third party transmissions in order to cut their costs. Surprising that cars like bmw etc are no different. charl
hello all i think i know exactly what u r talking about. this is basically a radiator problem which causes leaked fluids to contaminate the transmission. i hate to tell u this but u might be looking at a little more work than you think you are ... anton
OMG!! this is absurd. my power terrain warranty would not even cover it if it really is a radiator issue.
matt
whoa!! my brother's X3 had exactly the same issue. he got the the radiator fixed before it totally screwed the transmission. NOTE TO ALL X3 OWNERS: get your radiator fixed before this happens to you because for sure one day it will.
