So like any Wrangler owner I had to also deal with the overheating issue for my Jeep. This issue should not come up during normal driving conditions, this issue only comes up when you push the Wrangler a little harder than normal conditions. i.e. off-roading or when pulling a trailer. (If this issue comes up during normal conditions you need to take it to the shop and have it looked at) Disclaimer: I am not saying you should do this, I am only saying what I did to stop my car from overheating since I would not be selling my car any time soon and I am thinking on long-term benefits. When I started to go off-road with Carnity and other friends I did not see any changes in temperature, the car was full stock with no mods and it would always run on 50% temperature. I first noticed going to 75% when I started to push the car more in the dunes. Some people consider this within normal limits and I would agree if you are not going off-road every weekend and just going there once in a while. However, if you keep taking the car to that temperature you will eventually damage the the head gaskets, cylinder heads and bearings, it can even cause an oil thermal breakdown. This for me was not acceptable because if it was going to 75% during this cool weather, I knew this was going to be an issue if I was going to go off-road in the summer during those 45 C days. I had installed the RIPP 180F thermostat and a high performance radiator, there are many options out there. I choose the Afe Power BladeRunner GT Series Radiator because of the design and the ability to carry 25% more coolant than the stock radiator. This thermostat allows coolant to flow through the system earlier (about 82 Celsius) as opposed to the stock thermostat that opens at 203F (about 95 Celsius). This combined with the higher cooling capacity of the radiator proved to be a big improvement as it reduced and maintained lower engine temperatures. Last weekend we went to sweihan with @Gaurav and the rest of the guys and I went up that big dune many times in a row and I would only see a small rise of temperature but nothing more and it would immediately go down after 5 seconds. I am very happy I was able to get rid of the issue. If you don't want to go with a new radiator I would recommend to use the 180F thermostat and an extra fan, that should do the job. Actually that button is in the form of a sticker which says ' IF YOU CAN READ THIS, FLIP ME OVER' . Unfortunately it still is a manual operation and not an automatic one. 😂

People in tracksuits.... need we say more 🙄. All kidding aside: * Towing on such an inclined slope comes with big risks. Far too many people around and even one guy holding on to the tow cable= utter stupidity. * Car was probably in neutral. In this case would have been better in P. * A second tow rope could have been used to keep the car in its position. * doesn’t Wrangler have a button on the dashboard that automatically flips the car when pushed ? 😂 Hahaha you read my mind !

The car was not in gear (seems it was in Neutral), which should have been as the it was on a slope. Also the flipped vehicle should have been secured from the opposite side with a snatch rope which could have avoided this situation.

Wow that's scary especially the front towing cable snapped and could cause injury to people standing close to the vehicle and due to the slope the jeep went back in a haste and got out of steering control and turned turtle again.

I work with big mnc company as an admin asst and whole day running like a chiken to meet two ends, but i love as ppl are nice and feel happy when my job make them feel happy

I work in a shop that mainly builds custom cars and choppers. Also restore classic cars and do some maintenance and repairs to everyday road cars. I mostly work in the office but sometimes I’m out in the shop advising the mechanics and electricians on diagnosis and repairs. Spent most of my life working on cars and it’s nice to go home with clean hands every day now. Perfect job for me, I get paid for doing my hobby.

Excellent post @Javier M, as usual, your contributions are always detailed and helpful. Keep it up. Only small thing I like to add for others to not to increase the radiator capacity beyond 25% as that will put additional load on the stock water pump. Of course, more coolant is better but one need to offset the load on the water pump that might fail or make it slower in circulation.

My first car in the UAE was a Honda Civic DX 1991 model, fully manual. Had it for 4 years with occasional clutch having to be replaced.

The main idea still remains to learn from others mistakes so that we do not repeat the same. Some recoveries require a little more time to think and discuss several ideas on how to proceed with the recovery. The decision should be unanimous and agreed by all after listening carefully to the details. Help and be a part as required by the senior members. Wishing everyone safe off roading.

Of course everyone is right in their observation of not in Parking or in reverse, not securing car with another tow rope. Here are my few observations: Actual tip over with winch was too fast The winch is underrated to hold the weight (Maybe) Winch cable hit the rock when under load resulting in a snap No rope assist used while winching that could have injured someone No people push required if winch fails all 3 people would have been injured

@Dhav you probably didn't understand my earlier message clearly, let me break it down in step by step action. I don't doubt or believe Extreme or Munich guys but just saying for additional diagnostic because no two guys are pointing the same problem or even remotely close. However when you talk about an intermittent problem then it's genuinely a nightmare for even the competent workshop to spot the correct issue. And it's an expensive fix of either ECU or gearbox, so I would definitely go with the third opinion and then if any two diagnoses are same then I will pull the trigger. Step 1: Find a competent BMW diagnostic center, better if they are not a workshop and just a professional diagnostic center only, so chances to get the most unbiased report. You can even check with AGMC to scan the problem if it fits in your budget - just a scan. Step 2: Approach them saying your car switching off issue without influencing their mind with extreme or Munich diagnostic report. Let them work independently. Step 3: Note the actual trouble codes stored in the system as per the first scan. Step 4: Ask them to clear the code. Step 5: If the diagnostic tool offer live data, then drive around with the diagnostic tool hooked in until some fault code pops in as soon as your engine stalls. As it's an intermittent problem so this might take a while to show up. Step 6: If the diagnostic tool doesn't offer live data, drive around and try to reproduce the engine stalling and as soon as it happens, go back to them and ask them to scan again and get you the new fault codes stored. Step 7: This fault code will be your actual trouble maker and then we can see if it matches with extreme or munich report to attend the right fix. Try google and find an independent BMW Diagnostic center and get the new codes, preferably printed out of there scanner system rather than handwritten or hand type, which eliminates the room for human error or judgment. Also check if Motrox still offering free diagnostic for Carnity members, as they had that promotion a while back.

Went to service center and now the car reverse ain't working. I'll have it tow tomorrow. Btw, How do rebuilding works? Dexol can do it? I might refer it to them.

You are lucky if it is working fine. Else, like how Gaurav suggested it's good to get a rebuild done. The CVT is a major issue with Nissan. I own 2 Sentras which was bought brand new from the showroom. They are both driven about 200k kms and they have both failed like clock work precision.

Please share how you guys resolved?

@Srikumar had a few issues with CVT with his Nissan Sentra. Seems like a Nissan CVT thing.

I'm a slow driver and the car was well taken car of. In fact, it is only used from office ( Internet city) to home ( Dubai Marina) and vice versa. The 10,000 kms will took me around 6 months or even more as I don't drive a lot. It's unbelievable why I got this issue. It's my first breakdown in history of my ownership in this car back in 5 years. I don't know much about car, I need your sound opinion.

I have been taking my car to be washed in the petrol stations but I need the interiors and engine to be steamed wash since sand is really hard to remove, specially from the interiors. Can somebody recommend a good car-wash that can steam wash? Thanks

I don't actually know what they serviced last 6 months. I did not pay attention to it. Whatever they recommend I follow. Now, they advised me to change CVT that cost AED 21K , Cooler AE1300, Steering lock AED 1965, brake switch and battery at AED 550. I don't know if this happen to anyone here? That's why I badly need a credible workshop for 2nd opinion.

Mobil 1 and Grand Service Center has awesome steam wash all across Dubai. Just google the nearest one and call them as in some centers steam wash is not there.

Do you mean "Gear" Oil and filter or "Engine Oil and filter" changed 6 months ago? Do ask Nissan on what should you do next if car CVT gear is failing at 70K irrespective of maintaining with dealer....? I'm sure if it's regular behavior they must have some sort some type of program or partial warranty coverage or goodwill warranty coverage to take care of this. Have you tried that...?

When have you changed the gear oil and filter last? And have you asked the Nissan guys the reason of failing CVT transmission at 69K seems too early? Have you checked if there is any recall to this issue? In which year and at how many kms your car warranty have expired? https://carnity.com/recall or google it

If you need to do a transmission Overhaul try Dexol in deira or any of their branches they are good at their work.

But be careful with the bumpers...it's a delicate darling..

ECU doesn't give any fault codes as per Extreme Performance Garage guys. What fix should I start with to eliminate the engine stalling issue is the question.

@Dhav if it's a code for the ECU then replace that as first stage estimate instead of doing any repairs on transmission as per my experience
