  1. Holy crap! You guys are making me nervous now 😧 If I don't make it out of Liwa, I'd like to announce on record that I'm leaving my FJ to @Rahimdad 😉

  2. Different cars, different challenges. A big car rides ridges more easily than an SWB. The SWB is more nimble in smaller dunes. It's all part of the challenge. That's why we enjoy it so much. Catch you soon @Mohamed Seidam

  3. Thank you @Wrangeld I am highly confident with driving through small technical dunes but this doesn’t mean I may not get stock 😂 as this is the only way to practice, progress and learn so I like new challenges and would appreciated.

  5. What a fantastic attitude - and yes, you're right. You cannot get the expertise without the practice and the practice has the risk of getting stuck. See you Friday.

  7. @Mohammed Razeen @syed salman raza @asifk your name has been added on the Newbie drive list. Please confirm your participation. During the drive, if anyone's car is having the slightest troubles we would have to take them on to the road immediately. This has to be done to avoid delays and ensure that the rest of the convoy enjoys the drive.

  11. @Tero Vallas alternatively you can install a kill switch for your Prado at xxxxxx xxxxxxxx, i paid 250AED. Kills the ABS, traction control and airbags. I did that for the FJ i dont think the electronics are that much different. Ah forgot i was not supposed to mention garage names on this forum.. Any good offroad garage will do it. Ras Al Khor area is where i go.

  12. @HeisemWell said and done and that’s what is dune riding all about , to “sail “it on wheels and never ever to fight it no matter how experience you are or engine you are on. the bash plate will displace the sand making you “boat” to sail smoothly through 👍 nice footage also 👌 cheers

This week will be no different. It was a year ago that myself and Jeepie (Marjan) first ventured out into the sand of the UAE. She has never driven off road before, I had only driven in Europe - where mud rivers and rocks are the challenge, definitely not sand. A year on, I am a Marshal in Carnity and Marjan at Expert rank. It's been an amazing year, learning about the UAE [mainly Dubai since COVID], our driving skills, our car and yes, as we shared a car for the first 10 months, our relationship. So far all of us survived! So what's this anniversary drive about? Fun: At the end of the day, driving in the sand should be fun. If that's fun because it is very exciting, or seeing nature or challenging ourselves, it should never be something we do because we have to. We have had a lot of fun during the year and want to share that feeling. Challenges: There are different types of challenge we face in the desert. The reason I chose the Qudra, Solar park area for this week is because there are a lot of chances to try different things. We can drive from area to area one part highly technical, one part with long straight dunes where we can side slope or drive the create one part with swooping high dunes where precision is esential because the sand is so soft nearby. Recoveries: I know it's quite boring waiting for someone else to be recovered, it's the best learnign you will get to be able to sort out your own problems if they arrive when you are driving. As drive leads, helping out with stucks and recoveries is part of the fun and the learnign as well. Yes, it's always nice to keep moving as much as possible but we also need to take up the level so that everyone learns how to get out of trouble as well as into it. Rising your drive level: We increase intensity on drives based on the driver response. If everyone is doing well, if there are no stucks, if the drivers can cope, then we will increase the intensity and the type of drive accordingly. Look out for moments of criss crossing, and ridge riding during the drive - you're fewbies after all. So, please, lets make it a fun drive. Come with your car in good order, with your mind clear and we will all have a great time. See you soon in the sand.

  17. Actually getting stuck especially in the first two steps of our ladder , I would say , is necessary and unavoidable opportunity to learn it , ( I am not saying to surrender to it easily ) but baby dunes and narrow passages in between that even for LWB vehicles can be challenging , I would admire the energy and welling of the heavy long base vehicles drivers like @Abu Muhammad, accepting the more challenge 💪. I wished to be driving with you in qudra this Friday ( my favorite spot ) , but in the next weeks after Liwa is over I will . God well best of luck and cheers all @Wrangeld catch you soon dear friend with much thrill and technical soft baby dunes

  21. Hi @Srikumar, is the min 3 drives mandatory for the liwa drive? It seems I won’t be able to attend my 3rd drive to Sweihan. However I drove a couple of times with other groups in several desert off-road drives and am very eager to join the liwa drive. Please let me know if I will still be qualified to attend on the 2nd. Thanks

  23. @Srikumar @Gauravhow to disable the airbags in the pajero? I remove the Traction control connector in the engine bay near the battery during the drives. Is that it or need something else? I drive 3.8 pajero 2014 LWB. @SrikumarI am planning to camp near our meeting point on 1st night. Any other suitable spot recommendation?

  25. I guys, I know it's been mentioned here quite a lot, as I read mixed reviews on the double Camel air processor, thinking of investing a bit more money, 500 to 600 AED and can't decide which are the best options for air compressor within this budget. Thanks for any tips.

  27. @Jose Tity as per your drive rank, you are not eligible for this fewbie drive. You can join Absolute Newbie if this is the first time you are driving with Carnity ( mandatory). If you have already done Absolute newbie, you can join Newbie drives till you become fewbie. Thanks for understanding
