Thanks @Frederic for the beautiful drive... Very unique and offered very diff kind of challanges and adventure through the route .. We drove through the beautiful yellow dunes of Sharjah, open long sabkas, a bit through tarmac and ofcourse the most interesting part was wadi drive (though basic was something have been looking forward for). Just like any adventure, it started with a plan and evolved with every passing moment. While an easier than usual track, lower deflation than usual (to ensure things work well through the course) provided the perfect learning conditions for convoy. We drove for 8 hrs 17min covering around 100Km through this varied terrain with a av moving speed of around 19km/hr @Stav you were a perfect SL and thanks for all your support during stucks and refusals. @Quresh Motiwala other than being crested (multiple times 🙂) on that tiny dune you handled your Pajero well. Stucks and refusals are integral part of offroading, always take them with a smile. @Markus B your TJ showed us the importance of right deflation while off-roading, once the tire pressure were down to right level, it was a super smooth drive . Thanks for letting me try it. It's diff...😂 @Omar ElGamal you had your fair share of refusals however was good to see you self recover through most of them with minimal aid. Transitions from dune to tarmac to rocky bed surely has tendency to make one nervous - with change in sounds and overall vehicle behavior. In the end i hope you enjoyed the experience and got to know a bit more about your beautiful Pajero @Azeem M you have a good control on your vehicle just don't be gas shy and you are good to go. @Joseph Raju you are only getting better with every drive. It's our second drive together and as was the case with first one you handle your Super Safari nicely. @Rob Soughton apart from couple of small refusals and one crest on that tricky dune you had a nice day at work. @Pierre de Maigret and @Muhammad Qasim both FJs had perfect drives. @Tom V Xterra showed that pulling out the power plug works for all kinds of electronics. @KKIRAN @Senthil Kumar very nicely driven, never easy to be at the end of a long convoy. @Mikhail Lukichev thanks for keeping the convoy together. Drive Report These are that type drives i love the most. Meandering through unknown terrain, enjoying the scenic views of members shoveling away, and making our way towards the mountains on a snail pace ! The first part consisted of some technical areas that were tricky to navigate as the sand was extremely soft, and there was only very little room for error. Many of you were probably wondering if that shoveling and tugging was really meant to be in a scenic drive But alas, we had fun, learnt a lot, and by noon time we could take some deserved rest in Falaj Al Moalla town. The second part consisted more of an easy farm trail towards Al Ghail Industrial Area, in where i absolutely love the scenery. The mountain trail / river bed rattled and shook us all the way up to Asimah, a little town north of Masafi. We exited just in time, and i was delighted to see the many smiling faces after such a long day ! You guys all did amazing. Special thanks to @varunmehndirattafor being my support, always ready to help with a smile ! @Stav was the perfect second lead and was also in for good support. First of all, I would like to thank @Carnity and all the Marshals+ the support team @Frederic, @Gaurav Soni, @Jeepie, @Brette, @Russ, @Gaurav, @JeromeFJ (I always remember what he mentioned in his drive report “Let the Raptor be free and use this power! “), @Srikumar, @Niki, @Anish S, @Kailas, @Vanessa8580, @Dodi Syahdar, @Chaitanya D, @Looper who I have driven with so far, making me feel safe and confident in my new hobby (actually passion). You all are true professionals with meticulous planning & execution skills, supporting each other and make this club, a great club to be associated with, where safety is paramount. I still remember my absolute newbie drive on 05.11.2021, super excited and nervous at the same time, waking up every hour the previous night to check the alarm 😅. The last 7 weeks has been one of the most humbling experience I ever had. It has also been like starting a 'new relationship' with my motor. Like any other relationship, we started spending more time with each other to the point where I sold off my second car and started driving my truck to work ever since 😂. We are still in the process of understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses and it's blossoming into an ever lasting one. Lastly, thank you all for your wishes, some of you whom I have driven with, but it's truly welcoming to see from whom I know only by their names or from their previous posts. Well done everyone, was really fun. Managed to move about 3 hrs 13 minutes, out of total time of 3 hrs 20 minutes. No refusals no tugs no stops, except bio and prayers. At sometime was feeling time is not passing, crossing dunes after dunes, again and again, covering almost the whole area, and time still …. Very nice guys. Thank @Chinthaka Ruwan for being second sweep, @Ilya for sweeping us. Remember when was checking with you, if everything is fine, you like asked me to stop asking, and you will speak whenever an issue is there 😅. Sometimes, silence means all good and enjoying. Ive seen it for sale. I have the manual gear model 3.0 that’s a bit underpowered but is a blast to drive off-road. This one looks well taken care of, but like any 4x4 of this age you’ll need to be prepared to spend some extra money and find a mechanic that’s willing to go the extra mile to find the parts that are getting rare. This was my daily driver for more than two years as well and never let me down. Points of attention are the suspension bushings, cv joints/axles, 4x4 vacuum solenoids, and make sure the engine runs fine and gets good fluids every time without fail. Apart from that these cars are bulletproof and massively underrated. 13k is a good price if all these things are in good condition.
