@Lorenzo Candelpergher you know my thoughts of sadness to see you leave. I have nothing but fond memories of all of your drives whether driving or supporting. You always pushed the convoy and taught us new things and to overcome any apprehension. Before and after the drive your build-up and drive reports were always so well written with a real attention for detail and memory for how everyone had performed. Thank you also for leading Night drives in areas requiring skill and awareness but full of excitement. All the best and hope to see you soon 🌵

@Jeepie Marjan…. I am sorry for you leaving the club. Will be missing your calmness. Enjoyed driving with you, supporting me, and supporting the LL drives. I wish you all the best in your future plans, and hope will meet sometime in sand.

My point is that these can be added but at extra spendings, and cruise control is a must-have function to me ( staying on the speed limit accurately 😈)

Hi @Markus B. No need for off road lights, high beam with fog lamps is ok. regular flag is okay, if you have a blinking led which you can attach to the flag - simplest is the one u strap on a cycle is also ok ( not a must)

Hello @ZULFIKHAR NAIYAR Xterra vehicles generally are excellent off-roaders no question. I drive 2012 option 2 model for my weekly hobby in the desert and also as my job carrier daily and I am super happy with it . regarding your query: condition : make sure to test it in a decent garage of your choice ( bumper to bumper ) before you close any deal . price : considering the history you said and the mileage and the peak season I think it’s at the highest range displayed price , if it’s Summer you can get the same below 40k bit . For the same price you may get the offroad version in the summer. But as @Frederic said the diff lock is not the end of the world . the market of spare parts of this brand is in excess and within reach and not super expensive. re sell also is good as you see . good luck 👍

Looks like a very decent, and non-abused Xterra, could be your perfect offroader ! The standard model is totally fine, it does not come with a rear diff lock but that is not the end of the world, as many 4x4s dont have that anyways. I am not familiar with the current prices, i am sure other Xterra owners will chip in with more information.

I have similar basic Xterra. I did 45.000km in last 17 months. It is nice vehicle to use both daily and off road.

@ZULFIKHAR NAIYAR looks really nice, if its driven only 70k shud be in very good condition. but still get it checked from a trusted mechanic for a piece of mind. even i fee like 45k is very steep for basic version. compared to full option offroad version not having rear diff lock is not a deal breaker but it make self recovery like walk in the park. also basic option might not have cruise control which is another convenient i would not want to miss out. rest is pretty much same in all the variants. i have 2012 offroad version and i enjoy it everyday. @Jeepie Marjan, like everyone else here I will be sad to see you leave but understand your reasons. I enjoyed being part of your Leads, or having you as support in other drives. You always came across as calm and assuring which is exactly what is required. I especially enjoyed the chance to get to know you a little better during the recent Desert Recovery Course. Its sad to see you leave, certainly our loss I will miss the building up of excitement right from the time you posted and introduced the drive, rekindling it trough well timed mid-week nugget and taking it to another level while announcing the convoy numbering! The actual experience and excitement surpassed on each drive - always creative in route selection which pushed and challenged me no matter which area we were driving; have always ended your drives with a sense of euphoria and accomplishment. Thank you for that, you will be missed.

You were definitely one of the most challenging and motivating leader in this community. I remember having your back several times as second lead and I would always thing to myself I was lucky to get to watch your moves so closely ! So long my friend...

Really sad to see this happening, but we do understand that with time many things evolve. Thank you and congratulations @Lorenzo Candelpergher for being such a great offroader above all, who have the perseverance and determination to master the art of off-roading and managed to succeed with flying colors with an impossible size of Y62. You are a true example of driver attitude and skills makes all the difference in off-roading. Till date I have never seen anyone handling that big of beast with sheer perfection, control and extreme precision from technical terrain to monstrous dunes. And after you've change to Rubicon, you've become invincible, as rightly put above by Richard. Surely our path will cross again, till then drive safe and take care.

Agree on what's said above, 40k is more resonable, in summer you can get it down to 35k if the car is a moderate condition As i remember from your previous y62 post, you want the car to be daily driving as well, the basic Xterra is too basic for a daily driving car, no cruise control, no bluetooth, not even front fog lights (altho they can be added). Get one with offroad package is better in long run it has most of the specs and diff lock with bilsten shocks. Diff lock is not game changer, but 30% of scenarios it gets useful. I have visited Al Futtaim automall once, every single car I tried were with signs body work, minor and major. I could have bad luck that day but check closely the body if you decide to close it on this one. yes it's possible, I guess the cost is 3k at least

Hi, I'm new to the club and currently on the lookout for a good off-road vehicle. I'd shortlisted on the Patrol Y62, but I've come across a decent Xterra which I've my mind set on. Needed some expert advise on what to look out for and the expected price. I've test driven and it was very smooth, well maintained with all service records intact and great condition.. Its 2015 basic model, around 77k driven.. 2nd owner purchased from Alfuttaim used cars in 2018.. However, its a standard 4x4 variant.. Is 45k a good price for this vehicle? @Mukundan Naircan you plz share your feedback as well.. we'd met in one of AN drives a while ago this is the vehicle I'm talking about - Thanks in advance

Yes the user id and drive count is always related to the driver only, so we can track their personal progress and drive count, not the vehicle 😁. Thanks for understanding.

Ok, I understand. I opened account in november, joined with his car but now I have mine - just bought last week - and I thought I should start from zero, didnt really practiced that time. But rules are clear, I step out from the group. thanks.

@Eduardo sos your drive count shows you have completed 1 drive already as driver, hence you cannot do this drive twice. If your friend wants to join this drive, he will have to create his own user ID and sign up for the drive.

One more can be accommodated, as only 9 are in drive and 3 in wait list. Hope to become attendee,as haven't been to intermediate since long.

It's really sad to see you leaving @Lorenzo Candelpergher, I didnt have the chance to drive with you more often, but the FB+ Faya you led on a weekday morning remains as one of my all time favorite, true enjoyment. I wish you the best in your new adventures!

This is indeed sad, compounded by the fact that you and Lorenzo announced on the same day. thank you Marjan for bringing your positive attitude which was always contagious, sharing your knowledge and leading superb drives. It's really sad to see you leaving Marjan, being for rules or chore your experience and knowledge will be greatly missed here. You were the true pioneer who contributed with a game changing idea of restricting single drive in 2019, to make things fair and open for all. Followed by many great teamwork, silently delivering on the community spirit with best of your capabilities and supporting newbie to achieve great wonders, as many have mentioned above. Dear @Lorenzo Candelpergher this is a sad day for the club. We lose one of the most competent, creative and complete leads in the Marshal group, leaving a massive gap that will be hard to fill. You've been a leading force in developing the more creative themed drives that so many people love. Climbs, ridges, extreme, distance - you've done it all, with massive aplomb and generating an incredible loyal following evidenced by the speed with which ANY drive to which your name was attached filled up. Keeping up with you, both literally and figuratively has been a challenge, and I have enjoyed every moment in the sand in your company (and beyond) since that first newbie, through your promotions and onto witnessing your excellence as a marshal. I wish I'd supported your drives anywhere near as many times as you have mine - I would have learned such a lot. The sand will continue to tremor as you approach it, sadly in the future, outside of Carnity. As with every aspect of your life, there is no doubt this will be a great success. Indeed, after the dark comes the light, after the rain comes the sun and new shoots sprout.

Truly sorry that feel that there is no alternative to this decision. You've been loyal to a fault, dependable, supported more drives (and usually those where other support did not want to because it was not going to be sufficiently exciting) than most and taught more people to steer down than I care to mention. If this means that I have a passenger in my car on more regular occasions, that is the single potential beneficial outcome that I can see of this decision. I am losing my most regular and competent support on drives, routefinder and partner in crime. For you, perhaps, you'll be sleeping late on the mornings that I get up early to lead drives, but knowing that will mean a lot less joy from the experience from the driving than there has been ever since that day on 25th November 2019 when we first ventured into the sand together. This is a terrible loss to this club. A great shame. I feel sorry for those that will not benefit from your experience in the future.

As a basic introduction, kindly reply to the following: 1) which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Do you have prior offroading experience ? If so please clarify 3) Does your vehicle have front and back towpoints ? This is mandatory before being eligible to join. Tools Needed For your very first drive with us, we would like to ask you to bring a pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a compressor to inflate your tyres after the drive. (the one near the gas station is usually defective). The next tools you will be needing from second drive onwards, are a walkie-talkie, offroad flag, and a decent shovel. If by any chance you have these tools already you are of course welcome to bring them along on your first drive. @Eduardo sos as per our records you have completed this Absolute Newbie drive before, so you will need to sign out, and get into one of the Newbie level drives for this weekend.
