Oh Man what an amazing weekend , camping was an absolute blast the night before with @Hisham Masaad @Abdelghani and @Mohamad Anwer including the time we spent driving in the desert looking to find a camping spot ( Not Dune Bashing !!) 😅😁. thanks guys for the great company ... @Varun Mehndiratta thanks for preparing such a drive ,i loved how we spent most of the time ridge riding , regardless over 200+ Meters or not i had to keep pushing it to the max especially having @Hisham Masaad only a few cars behind me with the stick in his hand , as this time he was yalla pushing us from the back 😲😰😅😂 @Naveen Raj well done as a SL , you drove your Pajero amazingly well. @MMansoor i hope your bumper is fine and it can be fixed easily @Beide Worku i was a bit worried at the beginning that you might have broken something serious when i have seen your car smoking . but man i was so relived to know its only the hose ( which was engineered to fail anyway 😂) am sorry for what happened and i hope fixing it will not cost you a fortune @Gertjan its always a pleasure driving with you buddy and thanks for the nice clicks @Gerrit Bus impressive handling of your long car . @Tareq Al Turq you have drove amazingly well my friend , i can see that using some new techniques paid well 😉 @Mohamad Anwer i am so glad after so many months you are back stronger and confident than ever . @Ranjan Das we missed you in shwuaib , but i was glad to see you on this one @Vaibhav its always great to drive with you man. @Waqas Parvez and @ASAD. that way your beast Prado's are torching the sand is just breath taking looking forward to see you all soon in the san

@Islam Soliman thanks for a very entertaining Saturday morning in the dunes, really loved this drive having a little of everything to get the newbies juices flowing for the next levels of drives. @Benjamin williams well done as second lead keeping us all on the correct track and stopping when required for Islam to reroute, well done. @Nicholas Cox1 great job in the sweep position Nick keeping us informed about the tail end of the convoy. The rest of the team drove exceptionally well so well done to you all @Hashem Rihan@Rk ram @sohinik @Shinebabu @GeorgeFJ @Ahmad Quadri @Hashem Rihan @L. Petelczyc @essam ibrahim @Theo09 @Nadeem Ansari. We had a few stucks and refusals but you all did amazingly well to stay calm whilst exhibiting some great self-recovery skills. I hope you all had as much fun as i did and that you enjoyed the experience especially the absolute newbies who did extremely well. Remember getting stuck and having refusals is all part of the learning and turns us from good off roaders to even better offroaders :):)

@Gaurav thanks for a great afternoon out in the dunes, It was really enjoyable to get to see so many new and to reacquaint with some not so new faces. the drive had a little of everything and I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon and of course learnt a bunch more tips and tricks. @Tom V you did an excellent job as second lead following Gaurav's instructions accurately and timely, well done. @Rob S fantastic support at sweep mate made my CF role easy. the rest of the convoy drove like pros and knocked it out of the park. you guys were amazing and i cant wait for our next desert adventures together. @Parliament @Sami Sleiman @Misha Puskar @george charbel @Mark Gladiator @Patrick van der Loo @Joseph Raju @salah2u Remember the stucks and refusals are how we all learn, for those that have them it is learning the self-recovery techniques, for those supporting and watching it is learning how to recover a stck vehicle safely and timely. thanks for your patience during the few that we had and hope you all learnt as much as I did. till we meet again in the dunes

As mentioned on the drive topic, this will be an overlanding drive with the aim of staying as much as possible on the TOC line, (max 500m deviation), except where we are forced due to fences or underpasses. This also means this cannot be considered as a dune bashing drive where we hop from one bowl into another bowl. Of course, if we come across some nice bowls on the TOC line we will gladly enjoy them This week i hope you all prepare yourselves and your trusty 4x4. As mentioned on the drive topic please take note of the following things below: Maximum of one passenger allowed - No exceptions and trip lead will send you back. Make sure that passenger has no fear of heights, motion sickness and have been to full-day off-road drives before. Everything in your car should be strapped and secured - All vehicles will be checked by the trip lead. Drive Preparation: Your car should be in 100% pristine working condition, so double or triple check everything. Full-size spare tire with a lug wrench to match your wheel nut size and its depth. For aftermarket rims - Your lug wrench also needs to match the wheel nut depth. 5-10 liter of water per person per day. Snacks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and next day breakfast/lunch. Keep your car as light as possible by packing what is truly essential. 2 Fully charged radios with spare battery and all other required off-road gears. Gas tank and required number of jerry cans should be full upon arrival. Fuel requirement: 6 Cyl cars = 100 Liter (Minimum) - 120 Liter (for more fuel-guzzling cars) 8 Cyl cars = 120 Liter (Minimum) - 140 Liter (for more fuel-guzzling cars) Carry an additional required number of jerry cans based on your car fuel tank capacity. That was a beautiful and an enjoyable drive. Thank you @M.Seidam for organizing and leading this drive. Special thanks for the SL position. The tracks were super smooth and your manoeuvres on the technical terrain were exhilarating. A bit of pressure in the initial stages but I quickly became comfortable seeing that the cars behind me were still there :). Also, in the beginning I followed you a bit more close and that resulted in a refusal for me and holding the convoy down. Post that, everything was super smooth. I brought a friend for the first time to the desert and he is already on dubizzle to buy a 4X4 and join us asap I loved the terrain variations every 15 min that kept us in the edge of the seat. It was a wholesome drive and we halted in a few different places as well, enjoying the night light beneath the stars. The entire convoy drove brilliantly and, not to mention @Davie Chase @Imteeaz and Mr. Surprise @Gaurav Sonifor bringing us back in 1 piece. @M.SeidamYes Doc, about the car, Thank you 😊 . @Tharun Kumar V @Gaurav Soni stayed back with me for a while and Tharun dropped me home. Brought the car home by recovery. i'ts just the brake hose on the caliper that has to be replaced. The sad part is that the part isn't available now and Nissan says they will take 3-4 weeks to bring it back in stock . Lucky the issue happened in the exit and not inside the desert. Then It would have been a looong night for you guys Hopefully il get it sorted soon and be back in the sand. Until next time guys!

@M.Seidam thank you for the fantastic night drive, it was an absolute blast and really enjoyed it, we had a few refusals and stucks but that all adds to the learning and fun. great to see @GauravSoni joining us at the last minute, and I echo docs comments ref your instructions to @Tharun Kumar V for recovering his sideway crest patience was indeed the key to getting him off the crest with self recovery and safely. @Imteeaz great sweeping role well executed my friend always reassuring having someone with our knowledge and skill at the rear of the convoy. @Krishna R you executed the second lead brilliantly moving us left and right where needed and stopping when instructed keeping us all safe well done. @Ahmad Nerat@MohamedSherif@Ishak@rohit kumar @Tharun Kumar V@Pranjal Varsani1and @Ahmad Nerat you guys drove extremely well, some of you on your first night drive, but you would not really have known it. fantastic effort by all that of course makes our jobs so much easier to support you all. thank you all and see you all again very soon in the sand

I will join the chorus and congratulate + thank you @Varun Mehndiratta for the super drive you led last Saturday. it was virtually a nonstop, highspeed, heart thumping and exhilarating drive from the word go and kudos to you for keeping it at that fluid level throughout the time we were driving. It was nice to see the entire convoy bringing their A games – absence of refusals and/or major stuck was testimony to everyone’s skills, focus and resilience. thank you @Hisham Masaad for the support. Your presence in any drive lifts the mood and morale of the whole convoy to another level and Saturday's was no different. @Beide Worku - trust your ride is all sorted without much hassel and is fit for the adventure awaiting us coming weekend - hope to see you there. @Naveen Raj @Gertjan @Vaibhav @Simon D @Tareq Al Turq @Ranjan Das @Mohamad Anwer was nice meeting you gentlemen; your company made the drive even more exciting. My adventure continued a bit longer. In my rush to rush home pushing my dear jeep on the expressway around 130 kmph; was about to reach Al Faqa when my front right tyre gave up. Spent couple of seconds in 1. realising what just happened 2. to keep the jeep steady and the toughest part 3. to steer the jeep on to the left kerb in evering speeding traffic. Those were some anxious moments - thankfully i and my jeep were safe. Most probable cause as per the guys at the shop was the tyre taking a beating or going over a nair/barbed wire - well that's history as my girl has new pairs of shoe to sport and one spare too . Most thankful to @Waqas Parvez and @ASAD. for stopping and extending their support - thank you guys and really appreciate the gesture. Eventually had to get a ride for my ride to end the ride - that's perhaps overdoing a bit ... already looking forward to the next one!

Thank you @JeromeFJ for introducing me to this area of the UAE and I agree it is truly stunning to drive through these dunes. Also greatly appreciate the help and support of you and @Chris Wingfor the recovery. It certainly was a uncomfortable position to be in and we achieved the best outcome. I agree with your comments about momentum going up dunes and that by the end of the drive there was a improvement. As it was my third drive since buying the Y61 the learning curve has been steep but enjoyable going from a IFS to solid axle as they handle completely differently.

We will be taking the hotel option, too much hassle with camping given the early start. Plus, we will get a shot for our camping addiction on Day1 and maybe Day2 anyway.
