The FB+ drives and the DCT were opportunities to learn huge amounts - shout out to my DCT team, the leads and the support crews for being generous with providing opportunities and advice. Dear explorers @Tatsiana Chase, @Gilberto, @Yurybel, @Stuart G, @Matt - monkeywrench, @Juan R, @J-P L, @Looper, @Gary F Absolutely fantastic drive from everyone involved, as expected we had sand filled with moisture making the terrain very difficult for the convoy, however this was part of the purpose of this drive to learn the difference between speed and momentum while encountering new environments affecting the handling of your 4x4 once you master this you will begin to notice how you adapt your driving style and technique in response to the handling. We had some great refusals with fantastic weather allowed us to learn important shoveling techniques such as the importance of the V-channel, where to dig and why, which is important for all off-roaders, we could also showcase the difference in the moist sand during this colder climate we have encountered. Thank you to @Looper for allowing me to take over his drive, much appreciated I had a lot of fun. @Gary F good sweep and handling those refusals in the back and middle @Davie Smooth_Operator Much appreciated for the assist as a center forward while being a passenger, always good having you supporting my convoy in any way you can, and thanks for the tips I'll be working on them with my next lead!

@Ale Vallecchi pleasure as always driving with you, it was nice to explore a location I haven’t been before until now. Good mix of dunes suitable for all different levels, would be a good place to explore further. Thanks @Jeandre Bezuidenhout @Hani crest king @Marek for your second lead, sweep and support throughout the drive. The drive was challenging in some respects and patience was shown by everybody which was great. My key take aways from the drive. 1. Communication - keep the radio close, easy access in case of a situation (rerouting, refusal etc),listen to instructions and respond when required. 2. Momentum - momentum is key, knowing your vehicle and how it behaves will help you further understand how to drive it in the sand. Pure power gets you out of some situations but momentum is your friend and will lead to a smoother experience. (There are many people in the Carnity community who may have your vehicle, any questions or difficulties you’re dealing with, just ask and I’m sure somebody will have an answer for you). 3. Ridges - get on top of the ridge and ride the ridge for a few metres before switching to the over side of the dune. Hesitation leads to rerouting or refusals, crossing the ridge at the wrong angle could lead to a more serious situation. (keep in mind I’m not an expert and I’m still learning like everyone else, but talking about these points helps people to learn, understand and improve) regardless, it was still good to be out in the sand on a brisk chilly morning with a good group of people. Super fun drive and evening. We started off spotting camels close by the starting point before Freddy and his crocodile guided us eastwards past our future camp site and towards the rolling dunes in this area. We spotted a small herd of gazelle and in the distance a couple of oryx. As we entered one of the sabhkas we found some groups taking their falcons out for a picnic in the desert. 😅 We stoped for a nice extended break with some hot tea while the younger passengers (and young at heart) played on the steep dune with the sled while others got some.good photos of the caravan of camels passing by. We had a couple of last minute refusals and got to watch the sun slip away for a final last push in the dark. Great fun all around! What a great day ! We started with a gentle scenic drive, enjoying the marmoom basin just south of the Solar Park. All of you drove very well. For some of you it was their first drive in the desert but nevertheless you drove great ! Thanks for the support @Luke K P , sweep duties from @Aser and second lead duties of @J-P L A bit after 6 we exited with the convoy and headed back in for the Australian Celebration Night. @Jessica Lambert brought a whole crew and it was amazing to see you guys being already set up by the time we’d reached as we had some small delays reaching the camping spot. Another massive thanks as well to @Luke K P for helping out to organize this evening, from bringing friends along to helping out with the playlist. Also a massive thanks to @Imran Asghar for his bright energy and for helping out with my BBQ 😜 it was so great to see people from all different nationalities and backgrounds mingling and sharing food. Thanking all of you who joined, even for a couple of hours. I hope we can do this more often. It was a bit chilly at night but the next morning views were worth it ! @Premjit Vappala@Aser@Brett Eicher@lucasmatt amazing to have you joining both events !

@Looper Understood, I'm guessing that's more of a skill thing and learning how to optimize approaching for the car you drive ? Btw, I don't know what I'm talking about so I'm just taking a guess here. Would that problem be solved with a better approach angle slightly to the right/left (as opposed to a direct climb), also maybe that also can be solved with a lift in the future ( once I learn the basics and whatnot ). I guess my question is, do I really consider that for picking the vehicle or is that something that can be fixed skill wise (or else). @Mike M. I definitely test drove the RR in sports mode lolz, that's why I was quite impressed not saying that the wrangler was weak or anything but there was just something that made the difference. I am still planning on doing another test drive on the wrangler before calling it. While I'm at it, I should probably wait for Ramadan offers to get a better bang for the buck.

As always @Ale Vallecchi a pleasurable drive and exploration of the desert with a lot to learn in these hidden gems. pleasure to meet everyone in the convoy keep the trust in the car and adapt with it. We tested the limits and learned more on ridging, criss-crossing and most importantly listening to the communication. Vegetation became prominent in the area but everyone tackled that smoothly. Relaxed ending in Tilal resort lunch and debriefing, lovely to get to know you all more.

Intermediate Sweihan drive series II highlights First of all thank you all for joining the night drive and thank you for being punctual on time . As you realised the night drive is different than the day light drive where the world is far clear on the other hand at night every thing is lit tight bounded by our headlights , senses are alert to max and focus is sharper than ever. I am glad to learn that you all enjoyed it feeling the dark side of the desert . couple of refusals and stucks were expected not excluding my self which gave us the opportunity to shovel and warm up as well as to look into situations from different directions and solve it safely . @waqar brilliant second lead keeping the proper distance and in due time was able to correct my slips especially when I got trapped in a deep 360 degree super soft tight bowl . @Nizar Shawwa first time we meet . What a pleasure . You drove like a walk in the night park . Very well done @nithish468 you realise that at day or night always the focus and sharpness are wanted and the night is just a bonus for extra. Well done 👍 @Marek when you told me it’s your first night drive it didn’t feel like that as you were surfing just like after sunrise . I loved the 4Runner glowing . Excellent . @christian no doubt that you drive very well but man you gave my heart a shock when you criss crossed that dune 😅 @Brett Eicher good to see you pal after a pretty long time .
