  1. How much did you enjoy your first drive? It was amazing!!! I never thought that driving across dunes can be so much fun!! What did you enjoy about the drive? The drive and terrain+route picked up by @Rahimdad was perfect for a first timer. He along with Srikumar & Atif ensured that we all have adrenaline rushing moments in a safe and controlled manner. They showed utmost care and were patient all throughout the ride. Which part of the drive you think you enjoyed the best which you would like to repeat? Hahaha… It was for me the refusal I had twice at the same spot!! Srikumar did explain it to me later in the evening about the wrongs I did and would love to go there once again to see if I can make it through this time around… Do you think there was a good mix of lecture and practical, was the lecture too long, and any part that can be avoided or done in a shorter or different way? Do you think anything else could be added to the lecture? Not that I can think of. Do you think prior reading material would help? I guess its already up on the forums. Would you know where on the Carnity forum you would be able to find the information you are looking for? Yes Is there anything you think could be done in a better way? I don’t think so. It was very nicely managed by the entire Carnity team. How do you suggest to make things better for the new comers? For me as a newbie, I cannot ask for anything better. I believe you had all the bases covered. How do you think you can progress within the current atmosphere and learning opportunities provided? I believe if I can keep attending the drives, it would help.

  4. Thank you @Frederic Nuyttens for your kind words. Yes we are a team and by God's grace those who join have the same mindset of safety and team work which makes every journey worth the while. American vehicles are overweight and not that easy to handle without a good V8, however @Asif Hussain is very special to handle his ride the way he does. He makes it look easy. As for the tutorial videos, it is already on our agenda and we are working towards it. We already have a Carnity channel on youtube and you will be seeing these soon.

  5. Truly amazing adventure from looking at the footage. Again a real example of teamwork and combined efforts with safety in first mind. Your winch has probably paid itself back multiple times already. @Asif Hussain i am extremely impressed with your car and its abilities. I thought in the past that American vehicles were too heavy for these kind of adventures but boy was i wrong. It's a blessing to be a junior member of this offroad community. There is sooo much to learn and pass on to others, especially the safety basics. On the weekend near to my place a Porsche Cayenne got stuck and he was revving away getting himself deeper. He "thought" that with that type of car deflating is unnecessary. Another guy showed up and they started messing about with 20dhs ropes. I approached the guy and made some friendly suggestions. After shoveling away the sand and deflating till 15psi he got himself out easily without all the pulling and snatching. It took us less than 15mins and most of all it was by far the safest way. My first months going in the desert near to my house i've seen so many bad examples of unsafe behaviour which could easily result in the horrifying videos you might find on Youtube. People generally don't mean to do bad or unsafe things but they just don't know better. Maybe the senior Carnity guys could make a video like this guy has on his own channel, specifically aimed at UAE viewers.

  6. That's not even a scrap price for a half cut now. I bought a half cut for 7k after tons of reference and negotiations

  7. Classic cars are a good investment. Especially modern classics. Even crapppy stuff like Morris marinas are starting to make money. I love the idea that people are starting to appreciate cars which weren’t properly appreciated but I hate the fact that petrolheads with a genuine interest are being priced out of the market. I remember growing up and you could buy an AE86 (the tofu delivery car) for £800 (4,000 dhs), now that car will cost you £20,000 (100k dhs). It’s incredibly hard for young people to get into the car scene now. Sure, there’s watching YouTube videos and knowing every fact about every car but most cars are unobtainable to most young people unless they have 6 masters degrees and a 50k job or a rich daddy. The only option is to finance a new Golf R. The new generation aren’t less into cars, they are just being priced out of it. Modifications are discouraged because it affects resale value. Individuality is suppressed. And that makes me sad.

  8. I'm calling bullshit on that one, you'd be lucky to reach Sharjah in an hour during peak rush hour.
