  5. Short but sweet. Excellent final edition of the Ramadan series of short morning drives. We started by heading east into Qudra desert through a heap of technical short and tight dunes. I got lots of chances to practice my three point turns in this section as couldn't swing the truck around 😅😅😅 We had a couple of refusals and stucks on the way to Cresent lake, where we were doing some nice quick pace ridge riding. After a fast ride across the two long range dunes, we headed back into the technical section for a drive back on the path. I clocked us at 2 hours 1 minute, covering 35km. Perfect timing from our leader @Looper. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you all again soon.

  6. Great drive today, lots of fun and a great lead from @Ale Vallecchi. Best part to have fellow truckers in the convoy @Luke K P @Stumpy sharing the knowledge was a great terrain with that pristine sand of sweihan never fails to impress for the ridging and criss-crossing techniques.

  7. Thank you @Davie Chase amazing drive as usual from the smooth operator himself, the weather was perfect during the morning which really set up the ideal conditions for shoveling, which gladly we all got plenty of, looking forward to our next drive together I will be waiting to see your supervising skills put to the test again @Imran Asghar always great meeting up with you mate keeping the rear end anchored perfectly, made the drive much more calmer knowing I had extra support behind me if needed, hope to see you soon mate. @Mark B @Gary F I'm starting to wonder if the old wife's tale of two doves also apply to two gladiators seeing these behemoths carry themselves through the desert is both amazing and intimidating

  8. Really fun drive @Davie Chase, I haven’t been to Tawi Nizwa in some time, the location of my first drive, you managed to find some great cleaner areas without too much traffic and tracks. Thanks to 2nd lead opportunity, great convoy with a variation of terrain and situations to deal with, I hope to get modding on the shovel over Eid 😂 This drive was a great example of the law of gasses too with the ambient temperature around 15 Celsius when we started to 25+ when we finished, tire pressure is critical and was constantly going up as our drive progressed. https://www.chemistrylearner.com/gas-laws.html I’ve uploaded some more photos from my copilot to the gallery. Great support as always from @Benjamin @Mark B @Imran Asghar good to see you

  10. Thanks for leading a nice Saturday Exploration @Ale Vallecchi We basically headed in a Westerly direction all day. After spending the first part of the drive hitting some lager dunes and bowls, we decided to aim towards al fayah. On the way we encountered a huge herd of camels including some baby Black and White ones. Once getting close to fayah, we headed north and hit the newly fenced off section and after scouting around the outside of the fence decided to head back to the asphalt and head home. Great driving by everyone in lots of different terrain. We spent longer time on bio breaks than recoveries which is always sign off a good drive. I'm very jealous of whoever got to spot the lizard running away. 😅😅 I have us at 70km with average moving speed of 26.5kph. very respectable. See you all in the sand again sometime soon. PS. @Emanuel I hope U get Ur shifter fixed easily. Thanks to @Stumpyfor the quick field repairs getting the convoy moving again.

  17. Hi Davie Great drive mate and yes chilled today to be honest which in good with as the guys in the middle were fantastic at supporting all the issues! No complaints from me! Think I figured it out The throttle body is filthy because the air filter was faulty so process of elimination. When I put the AC on the load is straining the car as throttle body full of crap So elimination process 1. New s and b air filter done 2. Throttle body cleaned again for the 3rd time in an month (because of the air intake) 3. Keep an eye on it and if it happens again then need to figure out why the throttle body keeps getting dirty Last and not least get the snorkle resealed I noticed this when I stripped it down after the drive : (going to ravon thenguys that installed it to get resealed Tomo morning )

  18. Dear Desert Wanders @Ben Lee, @Misha Puskar, @DTG, @Shaun J, @Mark B, @Wilfredo Perez, @Rohit Deginal, @EbrahimZAF, @Prithvi Raj, @Benjamin, @Ali-M, @Gary F I hope you all enjoyed todays adventures as much as i did. It was a beautiful Morning lovely weather and great company. thank you all for being on time. The drive started at Tawi Nizwa and we ran up through the mid range dunes towards Pink rock and beyond, before turning back on ourselves, climbing pink rock and then heading off to Big Red. you guys all drove amazingly well. we only had two stucks and a handful of refusals. it was great to see the team work of 10 bodies around the vehicle all digging furiously. I would have loved to have helped, but someone has to supervise, and there really was not enough room for me :), but seriously it really was great to witness, and you all regardless of shovel shape and size made light work of the sand. Great S/L from @Gary F kept my lines smooth and your quick reactions were honed enough to move teh line left or right of steps and bushes, well down and appreciated. @Mark B Great job in the middle, a little busier than the last couple of drives, but that is how we learn, the busier the better. You handled all of the refusals brilliantly, with calmness and expertise. thank you and well done. @Benjamin as always great to have you along Ben, as always handling anything we could through at you with your usual unflappable approach. great job and thanks for being there in support. @Imran Asghar thanks for joining last minute and sweeping the convoy, always a pleasure to have you along mate, a little bit quieter for you at the back given the excellence we had in the two CF's but hope you were not too chilled or bored:) you kept the convoy together well and kept me informed all the way round. thanks and hope you get the AC issues resolved. We covered 42.4 km at a max speed of 51 KMPH and a Avg Moving speed of 15.3 KMPH. Check out Fb drive 6 April 24 on Relive! https://www.relive.cc/view/vDqgrX2MeV6
