  1. I am from Arizona, US and thrown into this beautiful la-la land since 6 years.
  2. Go here and filter results with Abu Dhabi gives 4 options and I think 2 of them will be of your interest: https://carnity.com/business_listing/car-services/brand-specific-workshop/
  3. Trust me if RTA and Dubai Police will introduce this fine, in next 24 hours fast lane will be empty and no idiotic driver will ever block the traffic flow and genuine 115-120 kmph driver will be using the fast lane. Speedometer variance issue is very minor, as 99.99999% public intentionally drive slow on fast lane as they don't want to get blocked by slowest traffic and also they don't have courage to drive faster, so fast lane is their blessing in disguise lane.
  4. Fantastic read by everyone here, just a small suggestion for dubai police and RTA to stop wasting time without applying the basic common sense. They are actually increasing the traffic pilling by installing STUPID radar to shoot the tailgater. Their radar need to shoot the car in front with 50 million dirham fine, if car behind them is too close and lane on their right is empty. PERIOD. By current so called smart radar, the dumbest driver got more backing from RTA and Dubai police and they even more blatantly blocking traffic on fast lane as now they know no one can tailgate them.
  5. Do you mind explaining why Pajero is a nightmare? Is it from performance perspective or in general maintenance up-keeping.
  6. Thanks guys for making this separate topic, much better to discuss than thread-jacking that drive thread Great slomo video shows everything other than crucial part of tipping, too bad One of the most imp reason for roll over we all are missing here is the higher center of gravity, that contribute more than 75% as a cause. Was this vehicle lifted too?
  7. This much you can do it yourself with normal black paint spray can. If you want good quality long lasting job buy some rust proofing can from ACE hardware and do it yourself by going under the car. Lift the car with jack for slightly easy access and that's it. You really can't go wrong in just spraying some paint in specific areas.
  8. Thanks @Rahimdad for such calm explanation and welcoming this question. I was literally not sure to raise it here or not as some people will jump the gun, but it seems totally otherwise here.
  9. To be honest, rust proofing is not really required if you are in Dubai or Sharjah. It's majorly required in northern emirates due to heavy coastal line and plus bad road network. You can try apex gulf they do the rust proofing and also you can check with Nissan dealer arabian automobiles, I am sure they also do that but off course double the outside price.
  10. Just wondering to know more that why "offroad clubs here in UAE doesn't like to share and discuss these" I have been part of one off-road club for very short period and I recall that roll-over pictures were removed almost immediately from the forum and all were advised not to discuss it anymore.
  11. This is brilliant map, showing how Toyota is famous and trusted all across the planet.
  12. Youtube is your best friend mate, I have learned a lot from so many different publisher videos.
  13. If its staying still after the rise, I wouldnt be bothered until it reaches 80% or 90% just before the last limit. I drove my Pajero in low gear once for few kms and temp rose and stay steady until I shift back to high gear.
  14. Truly sad, after having love and hate relation with my Pajero I can see Mitsubishi is aiming towards more trouble-some cars to generate money than trouble-free cars.
  15. Your present size is 29.5 inches tall and I would not recommend extending to max one more inch and not two because when you go offroad your suspension bumps and your tire might hit the wheel arc and make noise. If you really want bigger than 30.5 Inches then lift the car by adding spacer in suspension or changing the springs.
  16. Well if you are not driving lower than road limit then you are absolutely normal person and I dont think you have an issue. People asking you this question must be slowpokes in driving slower than half of road limit. These both parties are absolutely normal. I hope you are not driving reckless all the time to race on roads then that's a bit aggressive behavior but still better than slowpokes driving in fast lane and blocking fast moving traffic: psychopath and mentally sick driver.
  17. 1 Million Miles = 1.6 Million Kms in 9 Years 177,777 Kms per year = 487 Kms daily. That's really a lot to push any vehicle, I haven't seen any other car doing this much before. Good job Toyota.
  18. Whatever you call them, but I think most of us love Porsche Design and their car curves. It's truly amazing.
  19. This was an awesome read and best thread so far with so much word of wisdom shared from different perspectives. I never knew about alcohol / ethanol / vegetable oil / bio were used to run our dear engines.
  20. This has to done here man, or atleast do some education and awareness that left lane is only for passing and not for driving. Worst is to drive and drive slow and impact all 4-6 roads in end.
  21. I live 15 km from my work place and drive daily for 5 days a week. While thinking of selling my car and going for another car, I realize to do some interesting math that I like to share with you all and seek an opinion on "WHY DO YOU BUY CAR?" COST OF REAL OWNERSHIP OF CAR All calculation are based on 1 year of car ownership of 100K AED car, to make math simple: 30 Km / day X 20 days / Month = 600 Kms / Month = 7,200 Kms / Year. Fuel cost: 14L / 100 kms = 7 kmpl = 7,200 / 7 = 1,028 liter / year = 1,028 x 1.78 AED / Liter = 1,830 AED / Year Insurance = 3,500 AED / Year Car wash and maintenance = 2,000 AED / Year Parking = 4,500 AED / Year (based on new RTA rates now) Registration = 500 AED / Year Salik = 2 crossing per day = 8 AED x 240 days = 1,920 / Year 1 year car depreciation = 15% = 15,000 AED. Total Running Cost: 1,830 (fuel) + 3,500 (Insurance) + 2,000 (Maintenance) + 4,500 (Parking) + 500 (Registration) + 1,920 (Salik) = 14,250 AED / Year Total Cost of car ownership: 14,250 (running cost) + 15,000 (depreciation) = 29,250 AED / Year. RIDING TAXI DAILY 240 days per year X 54.07 AED (as per RTA taxi calculator) X 2 (both directions) = 25,954 AED / Year. Though this math is very interesting, but it's VERY FUCKING DISTURBING to see that riding taxi's in Dubai is lot cheaper for work than our own car. I can actually sit at back and take a 15 min power nap twice daily than fighting with traffic. I can listen to music / watch movie / podcast anything I like. I don't have to worry to find a car park every day and walk for few meters in hot sun and bake myself in heated car for 10 minutes, and at end of 15 mins I reach home with sweated back.
  22. There is no point of reporting as they already know all this and lot more scams that dealer run through dubizzle. Dubizzle don't take any serious action as car businesses feed multiple times more cash, website traffic and inventory than genuine user. Genuine user buy and sell car once in 2-3 year, dealer sell 10-20 cars in a month. You got the maths right....!
  23. Well I got one RTA fine for lane discipline for 200 AED in most stupid way, I was right in my path but can't explain to someone who I can't see. May be he was in rush to meet his target or spelling mistake (god knows), and I had no interest for going to 5 places to explain for 200 AED.
  24. Wow, what an awesome clicks mate. Thanks for sharing that these classics are still alive and kickin.
