A super fun drive is what we come to expect when @Jeepie and @Wrangeld take the lead and we weren't disappointed.
The terrain was unforgiving, the sand was like silt and the vegetation resembled an English meadow or perhaps it was more akin to a Scottish bog without the water element! In the desert, in the summer....who knew?!
Add to that the challenging dunes and we were all tested to our limits, which is exactly what we want!
I loved being behind you guys and thanks for the vote of confidence in making me second lead, I tried my best to read the route and offer an alternative path when it was needed, but sometimes I just got caught up in it and wanted to try the hard stuff too haha!
There were so many learning moments, I picked up a few tips just from watching you guys toil in that melting sun. The efforts of @Ale Vallecchi, @Frederic and @Vanessa8580 are always greatly appreciated , especially when you are watching from the comfort of an air conditioned car.😝 I would have helped, honest, but you know this covid business is very serious and I wouldn't want to break the rules 😉
Well done everyone, can't wait for next week!

What an amazing drive! Many thanks to @Jeepie who took us to places we had never before ventured. @Wrangeld then took over and provided even more challenges and fun in the blazing sun. I'd say it was a mint choc chip flavour, cool and refreshing with some bite
It's always a pleasure to drive with @Rahimdad who as ever imparts his wealth of knowledge and encourages everyone in the drive. It was also a timely reminder to even the most experienced among us that during these summer months, we must check our tyre pressure. As we saw yesterday it absolutely will rise and when mixed with the hot sand will lead to less traction and thus refusals city. Maybe we can incorporate a 10 min tyre pressure check midway through drives ? Just a thought
Sorry if I was a bit too fast @Lorenzo Candelpergher I was just keeping apace with the leads.
I'll pop some pics in the gallery .- 2

Congratulations @Foxtrot Oscar. Definitely a big improvement from the Montero days. Good to see so many ladies just as avid as the gents here. This is definitely turning out to be a good mix. Girls are just as impressive making progress towards the Marshal status. I've missed out on the action. Need to catch up with you @Foxtrot Oscar.
Ach come on @Rahimdad I loved that Montero, its a shame fate had other ideas. That said....the Xterra is an amazing drive.
Very much looking forward to driving with you again- 1

What a wonderful Friday morning. thanks to great leadership from @Frederic who picked his way through the Al Qudra dunes with aplomb. The drive was a nice mix of relaxing and challenging. A great convoy to be part of with very few refusals which meant hours of driving in the majestic Dubai desert.
Thanks for the kind words @Frederic, you're correct, this wasn't my first rodeo 😉 but its been quite some time since I was at the wheel in the desert, I'll keep trying my best to master the skills required.
Thanks to @Ale Vallecchiwho was keeping a watchful eye behind me and of course @Brette for sweeping up at the back!
I can't wait for next week's drives- 2

Hi Angela,
As you have joined our previous drives before, we can allow you to join us. I’ve added you to the RSVP.
Please do clarify which car you will bring and if Jamy will be your co-pilot that day.
See you on Friday!
Hi Frederic,
It will be the Nissan Xterra and Jamy wont be joining. I've driven with Carnity before but not for a while . I'll update the details on my profile- 4

Hi @Frederic, this is Angela (Jamy's co-pilot). I wanted to join this drive but the limit is reached although some drivers have joined 2 different drives and I was led to believe that @Gaurav requested they were to join one drive only so that others, like me, could join at least one.
Can I be added to the waiting list in case anyone drops out?- 4

What a great day out !! @Ale Vallecchi you did a great job of plotting a path through some really technical dunes and rerouting when necessary. The area you chose is by far my favourite, it is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. But like all things of outstanding beauty it has dark and dangerous secrets.
I'm always in awe of you guys at the front who have no nice tracks to follow as we who follow your path do. You kept us all safe in an area that is hugely unforgiving, especially in the summer heat and provided us with some fantastic challenges. The big sidey was fun as was the big dune with the steep climb.
@Vanessa8580 plays centre forward so well, I think she should have used the shovel more though 😝 hee hee hee, I'm just being sadistic, it was soooo hot. My temp gauge was reading 123 degrees in old money (centigrade) I did not envy you the challenge of getting in and out your car to help everyone.
Some great learning points as always on a Carnity drive and in the scorching heat I think we have all become so much more aware of the need for momentum, the soft sands really do demand it.
Finally, as if the day wasn't fun enough already we had the absolute brilliant experience of driving in the dark, yes the dunes were timid by comparison to what we had experienced earlier in the day, but with @Srikumar 's outstanding lights and navigation skills to guide us, we raced through them to get to solid ground at Solar Park . It was without doubt an awesome experience!
I've been trying to upload pics in the gallery, but keep encountering glitches , perhaps the sand is too soft 😄
