  1. Congratulations @Arman I love the fact you called me to tell me you got promoted, doesn't everyone love being woken up to the voice of their excited cousin?

@ALI ALMOUMAR, I cannot see your name in the convoy list anymore. Do you have a drive this week? If you have left by mistake I can add you again, as you were one of the first to join and totally deserve this drive. We will sort out things, thanks to understanding from @Shehab Alawadhi, @Thomas Varghese and @Arman who have got alternate drives. @Paul Zeitoun is first on waitlist for @sertac drive and @ZakWarah already has a drive this week. So once things clear up later this evening we should be all sorted out by tomorrow morning.

You're welcome! Everyone should get a chance at a drive!

@Sara EL FANIDI @Kaile Barrameda @Santhosh kumar Rajasekaran hope you guys get on board and enjoy Fossil Rock

You're welcome! Team spirit is the most important thing when it comes to off roading!

Oh wow...that's a lot to digest...uuuh in this case it looks like @Paul Zeitoun is in need of a drive. I'll stick to @Chaitanya D's drive (good driving with you again man, ninja in a tank on the desert) , i dont think Sharjah will disappear any time soon.

@Thomas Varghese thanks for trying man but in this I'm thinking that perhaps i'll just pay it forward this time and see you friday afternoon :D

@Shehab Alawadhi I'll see you on the next one *lets go of floating door in the middle of cold ocean*

Perhaps i'll get my promotion soon too and shall join you although this level of optimism is unprecedented on my part.

I'll never let go, Arman. I'll never let go. I promise”

Yeah for sure on the next one.

I have seen the spirit of cooperation in the drives and why not cooperate so that another desertnaut gets a chance when I'm not bound by timings whether its morning or afternoon. @Rahimdad you can delete me from the volunteer list as I have already joined @Chaitanya D's afternoon drive. The timing suits me well as my wife who just landed after an 11 month break in India will be joining me and I know for sure she will appreciate me for not waking her up at 3 o clock in the morning to join the drive. Hopefully we will have a honeymoon in the desert at night.

Alhamdulilah that she is back here safe! My regards!

You will need to decide what it is you want from your truck first, make a plan, just putting any lift kit might turn out not working for you at all, adding on weight later on will affect which type of suspension upgrades you will need, you dont want to have to change everything again if you decide to put different bumpers and other items on the back at a later stage that all add extra weight and then you did not plan for that when you upgraded the suspension.

A good point to start to get height added to your truck will be the tyres and rims to get your read axle higher of the ground then decide which suspension upgrade will go along with it (2-2.5inch lift is more than enough) to lift your chassis (break over angle, approach and departure angle) higher of the ground for better clearance. There are many options for suspension also, so you’ll need to do your research a bit to see what will suit your needs and most importantly your pocket as suspension is not cheap starting from around 6.5k to almost 15k....

shop around for tyres and rims first and check their weight as you dont want to add to much extra weight to your truck. i know  385hp is plenty and i know you will barely feel the difference but less weight is better, also look into a cold air intake when you do all these modifications to help your truck breathe easier (it adds 10+hp also)

    Good luck ✌🏼

Alright. Thank you so much for the help. I guess I’ll wait and look around.

Hey guys, I saw @Shehab Alawadhi signed in for the drive and I kept checking for @Arman and did not believe my eyes that the duo was broken. Now it all makes sense, @Arman learn from @Shehab Alawadhi, your cousin is way quicker than you. Welcome back @Sara EL FANIDI it is good to see you among the action again. Following on the waitlist:

    1. @Arman

    2. @Santhosh kumar Rajasekaran

    3. @Sara EL FANIDI

Hahahahahahaha @Rahimdad yes sadly arman has bad luck with alarms. It’s ok though, I’m always happy to join any drive weather it be newbie or expert, I just love sand and I love driving in the sand. This time since I’ve been promoted to fewbie I will inshallah dress up in my kandoora and ghtra and hopefully being some chocolates for everyone to enjoy. (If it’s ok to share some chocolates with people on the drive)

  8. Thank you everyone. Thank you to all the crew members and marshals for being awesome interactive and amazing to have a side chat with. Thank you to everyone else for being just awesome fun and full of energy and life! Inshallah we will all reach expert level together and decide to take on the empty quarter (one of my dreams is to drive and camp in the empty quarter)

I’m sorry I didn’t mention everyone one by one, I’m currently in RAK in the mountains with my family. So my internet is kind of weird 😂

I’ll see you all soon inshallah.

  9. Yea it was my fault for not following the track, I can admit to that @Frederic. I wanted to try something with my car and test the limit, of my front bumper. I got lucky it was just that plastic part that broke and Alhamdu lilah I didn’t get hurt and nothing major happened to my car.
@Gaurav alright will do, and you’re right my car is heavy especially in the front. Thinking about it now it makes sense. Carbon fiber would work but that’s very pricey.

@Francois Germishuys Alright I’ll look into lift kits then. Which of the brands would you recommend, and which stage?

@Thomas Varghese it felt like a wave of sand crashed into bonnet it looked really cool from the inside. At the time I didn’t hear anything break but the point of impact was not where I thought it was. After closer inspection it was somewhere else on the bumper that hit and the plastic part broke because of the pressure.

@Frederic again I’m sorry for not following the path. I totally can admit that I messed up. I did learn something though, my car really does have a lot of torque and power, she just kept going and going up I was really fascinated.

  10. Hello my fellow Carnity Members, I had a little accident today nothing serious just the plastic piece that holds the number plate on my front bumper broke while off roading today on the drive with @Frederic and @Vanessa8580.

I wanted to ask where I can change the full front bumper into something more off-road type (integrated lights, skid plate, high angle of approach, preferably steel, of course something legal) does anyone know any good garages where I can acquire such a bumper or even custom make one to my style. I know that XXXXXXXXX do these thing but from asking around they are kind of a rip off however their quality is good from what I've been told.

If you guys could recommend any good garages that do these things, what are the approximate price ranges, if you've had any trouble with the police (being pulled over especially in Sharjah, I pass by there a lot). ) or RTA when you want to renew your cars, or even with the showrooms or insurance anything at all would be amazing help. I've been wanting to change this bumper since I bought this car but nothing has ever happened till today so I think that may be a sign to change the bumper 😅🤣

    P.S.

The picture shows the damage, the actual bumper is still intact, everything felt tight and rigid so no real structural damage from what I can see. Just the number plate holder is gone as you can see, and lets pray that I don't get stopped by the police 😅

    Thank you

  11. @Frederic thank you for the awesome drive had a lot of fun and took some great pictures and videos. Yes my bumper did decide to lose weight and it’s because my car decided to lose weight as a New Years resolution so the people behind me don’t suffer anymore 😂

Pictures will be posted in the gallery.

Thank you @Thomas Varghese for the quick yet impressive photoshoot we had.

  12. Thank you @Ale Vallecchi for the amazing and scenic drive. I haven’t discovered this area of RAK before and it was really nice. Weather was amazing, route wasn’t too difficult some places, had some amazing spots to go and camp I’m sure I’m gonna be camping there sometime soon!
See all of you in the next drive inshallah!

PS look who I saw on the way to the meeting point😂

  13. Thank you for the amazing drive @Gaurav I really enjoyed 4 hours of nonstop driving it was so much fun and I proved to myself how much better I’ve gotten (even after only a few drives) my brother also enjoyed the ride I’m not sure if you all could tell we were jamming out to Arabic music all the way in the back 😂. Good job to everyone since no one got stuck! @Goutam I hope I didn’t destroy the track too much. I was having a lot of fun playing around in the open dunes.

Sadly didn’t take many videos and pictures, the drive was too good to use my phone.

Inshallah see all of you next drive!
