taqir
Just watching a guy from top of my building doing parallel parking with 4 failed attempt from front and same guy parked in first attempt while in reverse. We all do it in reverse by default and do it daily, and I am so curious to understand that what is the logic that beats front over reverse attempt. Barry
Because it's easier to position the rear of the car then swing the front in using the steering wheels at the front. If you drive in straight, it's just not possible to swing the rear in because the wheels don't turn. Think about a forklift, the steering is done by the rear wheels. This enables the driver to position the front of the vehicle then swing the rear around to point the toes in the intended direction. The steering wheels are not at the back of a car because it would make it extremely unstable. Have you ever reversed really fast and noticed how the car changes with the smallest steering input? taqir
Thanks Barry, this makes perfect sense and I was wondering that if it relates to how we have been taught in training school.
