Wrangeld
@Jun Zamora @h1fny @Anish S @Edgar @Christian Andras @Islam Soliman @Yousef Alimadadi @Chaitanya D @David Ortells Thanks for signing up for the Fewbie drive from Big Red to Pink Rock. Myself and @Brette are looking forward to an exciting and challenging drive on Friday morning. The route from Big Red has multiple dune ranges where we will have some fun sweeping through the dunes. There will be challenges: lots of crests to clear, criss crossing, side slipping and climbing. Be prepared for the intensity of the drive to rise as the drive develops. Prepare mentally for you to have to be in total control of the vehicle and push yourself and the car further and harder than you have before. This is a Fewbie drive and as not everyone has driven Fewbie before (congrats to the new Fewbies), you need to be prepared for what's to come. As ever, @Brette and myself will be there to support you throughout the drive while expecting that you will self recover where possible. Make sure you have all the required equipment for your grade in Carnity. If you don't have the kit - you don't drive. No excuses. With priveleges comes greater responsibility. That means getting yourself prepared mentally and your vehicle properly for a drive. We will be giving more information, such as radio channel and convoy numbering later in the week after the drive closes. Feel free to ask any questions here. See you soon in the sand.

Please make sure your radio is set. As mentioned in the drive description this is a compressor only drive. It's a long and lonely drive to the closest gas station if for some reason you think that it will be OK to risk being on the drive without a working compressor. What to expect tomorrow morning? It will be dark when we start: Sounds a bit obvious, I know, but we hope to get moving before sunrise so there will be a little dark running. There are additional challenges in following in the dark. This is a fewbie drive: Get yourself mentally prepared for a drive that will direct through more challenging areas of soft sand, side sloping and dune crossing. This means we will look to increase the intensity depending on the perormance of the convoy. There will be some play time at Red Rock. After that we will be crossing back to Pink Rock. In between there are long range dune formations and bowls and slopes that will all need to be navigated. Skills need to be honed and improved: Newbie drives introduce skills like dune crossing (up and down), handling descents, sand conditions. WIth Fewbies we start to enjoy criss crossing, ridge riding and slide sloping to a new level. The balance between over confidence and enough confidence is quite delicate. By now you should be starting to understand the potential of your car - fewbie will help you understand your potential. It's a team game: The key objectives for any drive is to get everyone in and out of the sand safely and to have fun in between. That said, there's no shame in getting refusals or stucks, there's no competition to see who can go higher, harder of faster and it's important to remember that every time on the sand is a time to learn. We encourage all members to learn by doing, and the team will be supported by two members on the drive tomorrow. Please help them to help you out. Looking forward to seeing everyone bright and on time tomorrow morning. Any questions - please post them here. Anypone who cannot/is not turning up, please advise. Otherwise ... See you soon in the sand.
