I stand by my comment. Sitting on your ass all day watching tv and eating chips Oman and getting fat isn’t a medical condition. It’s being lazy. And the people who can afford to sit around and watch tv all day and not have to move while the maids do all the work, this tax won’t make any difference to them. It’s pointless.

Actually it depends on what parts are being replaced. The labor cost is typically around 1000 for a workshop in Ajman. If you need to replace any other part the cost can go up or down

I personally haven't used this but a friend of mine has this on his jeep cherokee(hes not very pleased with it) and i have been part of discussions about the actual use of this contraption. Basically what this device offers is something that can be achieved by giving the right gas at the right time. so bottom line is that it is not a must have for offloading as such and the eco mode is something whereby the practical results have not matched the claims of the manufacturer in terms of the percentage reduction in gas mileage.

Has anyone thought how cool it will be to have dark glasses at day and clear through night, like electrochromic sunglasses? Why car manufacturers aren't going for electrochromic glasses in cars? What's stopping them? Cost, law, safety.....?

Ok, plan B, equip the recovery trucks with small generators capable of producing 12kW. If you can get a 10% charge in 30 minutes, it should be enough to take you where you need to go. People (recovery companies) need to think about stuff like this because this is where the industry will eventually lead to. BTW, my ideas are trademarked and patented. If anyone want to use them, I need 51% profit share 😬

I’d like to see someone invent an emergency battery pack, something like the size of the old style battery boosters that you could carry around in the boot like you would carry a Jerry can of petrol. Not a full charge, but enough to get you to the charging point. I don’t think it’s such a major issue anyway. You can stick a high wattage inverter in the breakdown trucks which can be used to charge the dead car enough to get it to the charging point. But, I think @sertac is right. Treat it like a petrol car, watch the fuel (electricity) gauge and don’t let it run out you wouldn’t let your car run out of petrol, why would you let it run out of electricity. I think the electric car companies are missing out on a trick putting solar panels of the roof of the cars. It won’t generate massive power but you could leave your car in the parking lot when you’re at work and get a little boost.

It's called photochromatic glasses. Never heard the term of electrochromic glasses.

The concept is quite simple: the gas pedal sends a linear output to the ECU. If you push your pedal in for 15%, then 15% signal is sent to the ECU. By connecting the Pedal Commander inbetween the gas pedal throttle sensor and the ECU, you are able to change that signal from linear to whatever signal you want. If you’re doing technical dunes for example and want your throttle response to be quick at the slightest touch of the pedal, than you select a setting that is more suitable and aggressive. There are some cars that have dark glasses some version of old Cherokee's and old rx300s have them from company but people here go crazy hitting it with key and saying dark tint is not allowed...my reply is if can remove it then remove I have no issues... That electro thing might fail at the wrong time and impair visibility could be...

Does anyone has experience using the Pedal Commander ? I particularly like the Eco mode which could help you saving fuel, and the sport mode for faster throttle response. i like the fact that it’s plug and play and doesn’t mess with the ECU. It just connects between your throttle pedal. Looking into ways to make my 2008 Pajero a bit more quicker to respond. Obesity is rarely a medical condition. It’s usually a lack of self control. I don’t eat much sugary stuff. I’ll maybe buy a bar of some nice chocolate and keep it in the fridge and eat it slowly over 9-10 days. Why should I pay more for my chocolate when these fatsos will just pay the tax and continue to get fat? Taxing sugar won’t make a difference. I’m a heavy smoker, I smoke 1-2 packs per day. When they introduced the smoking tax, it didn’t make a difference to me. Sure a pack of cigarettes costs twice as much but they’re still cheap. Try buying a packet of cigarettes in my country, you won’t have much change out of 50dhs, and that’s an every day habit.

You can recharge your electric car with any electrical plug. It will take time but it will recharge. Specially in UAE cities are too close. Fully charged electric car making around 450km by today`s standards. Which mean if you are in the middle of Abu Dhabi and Dubai and if you are stupid enough to not check you electric gauge. I am sure that that car will warn you many red lights before electric is fully finished. You can enter any fuel station or restaurant and you can charge your car enough to reach next city in 2-3 hours( you will be already pass maybe 60-70km and you need to go other 60-70km which means you need %15 electric). This will happen once in a 10 year. Since i start driving 10 years past and i never face no fuel or no electric issue.

And the funny thing is that these generators will be running on petrol or diesel 😂

Keep one of everything but keep it in good condition. Look what happened to Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts. They were crap when they were new but a rusted out Mk1 Escort will cost you 10,000 euro now when you could have bought one for 500 in the 90s. Eventually people grow up and have some savings and want to recapture their childhood so they go looking for old cars. The old cars are all gone so survivors can command a higher price. Basic supply and demand. It’s a long game to play but you can become very rich if you’re willing to play it for a long time.

I believe we are over thinking about the electric cars. It has no difference than petrol. So far i never ended up on the road having no petrol. Always filled before it finished. Same for the electrical cars also. When it shows less battery you can stop in anywhere having electric and charge your car before batteries fully finished.

This is very old tech in eye wear. I rem having my first electrochromic glasses in 1997 as a fun. It's mostly used in optician glasses so person using eyeglasses need not to change glasses in sun and it will change its tint in few seconds.

Usually replacements of belts, bearings, spark plugs, seals, all oils etc. are termed as major services of the vehicle and are mostly done together to save on labor cost.

I have recently tried yo get the plugs changed as my Pathy was missing. Coming home on Thursday evening the race drops and picks up again causing a hiccup effect. I took it to the garage and they cleaned the throttle body and checked the fuel pressure and that seems in tact. So now to the speed of 80 KPH it's all OK but once I go past 80 KPH the hiccups start again and very violent at times. My suspect is still the plugs. However when trying to remove the plugs I've been told the they might break and once broken we would have to open the head. I've been watching some YouTube videos and patience seems to be the key. As long as there is some movement we have to turn it off as much as possible, again tighten it and keep repeating the exercise till it comes off. Still there is a chance that the plug might break. But on YouTube there is a solution other than opening the head. There is a tool called a screw extractor. Need to just hammer it into the broken spark plug and start screwing it. This should get the broken piece out and we are ready to fit the new plugs. Can someone with the right tools guide me where I can get this done, as I am a bit tight on cash and don't want to get into a big expense right now. Any help will be much appreciated.

We know that too, and Sri plan to exit by 9 to keep an hour as a buffer till 10 AM for any extreme recoveries or problems. Depending on the situation and actual heat in sand we might play around till 10 AM.

I fully support this. Been doing morning drives during the summer, it doesn't get hot until around 10-11 am.

You could have just used any penetrating oil like WD40 and you'd be halfway done by now and probably spent less for a can of WD40, this concoction is an old mechanics tricks to cook up a quick batch in a rush or to save a few pennies if you use it a lot by just using stuff lying around in the garage. Here is a side by side test of this mix along with WD40 and the mix came in behind WD40

@Barry I have bought the ATF and nail polish remover. How much quantity should I mix and what quantity should I apply.

Knock will mess with the shifts and throw down the drain the economy of fuel but seldom have seen certain rpm miss...

Mix ATF and acetone (nail polish remover) 50/50 and pour it on the threads every day for a week. It will soak into the threads though capillary action and make them easier to remove. But you need to give it time. It’s not an overnight thing. Keep repeating. Doing it on a warm engine will help. If you’re using a spark plug socket, take the rubber insert out. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but when you use the insert, there is a higher chance of breaking the plug. An old mechanic told me this years ago and from my experience he was right. Use a regular socket. When it’s loose, use a magnet to lift the plug out. Screw extractors, also known as Ezee Outs serve a purpose but you have to be careful using them. They are made of extremely hard metal, therefore extremely brittle. They are harder than drill bits so if you break a screw extractor it’s not just a matter of drilling it out. Are you sure it’s a spark plug problem? Speed is irrelevant. Bad plugs will cause a misfire under load, ie when you are holding the throttle down and trying to accelerate. If you want to drop by the shop I’ll take a look at it for you, FOC.
