I also had the same thoughts a year back when I started my desert driving. A year later now I still have everything stock except the tire which I changed in march as original wore out. I could have been a on an intermediate level by now but unfortunately i couldn't join all the drives due to odd working hours. But still I am a Fewbie thanks to @Rahimdad @Gaurav bhais and a companion like @Srikumar Listen respect and obey what the marshals say and you will surely enjoy your ride. See you tomorrow. Trip Report - 13 cars on a Friday brings out the fear, all thanks to @Atif bhai for not bringing in his mobile cafeteria this morning. You were dearly missed. Everyone made it on time and I'm thankful to @Srikumar for taking over the briefing duties while I was filling up the tank. We were soon off after the brief and reached the deflation point with great weather. After deflation and convoy numbering we were off. Love this terrain for all level drivers as it offers something for all level drives. As I usually do we started off with some slow paced easy drive, but with great convoy movement we were able to reach our playground with the least of troubles. This I believe was the best part of the drive as everyone had a go and were left with an ear to ear smile and loads of confidence. This was evident with the fact that the drive level was picked up at this point and everyone faired very well. At this point we quickly crossed the pile ins and were heading towards the Fossil Rocks. We inspected the drop from Fossil Rocks and unanimous decision was to go around it. There were a couple of individuals where the Jeep Wrangler just went through, however the Xterra guy was struggling and we helped him down the drop. As decided we went around Fossil Rocks and just as we reached the other side we were crossing the same 2 guys. The one in the Xterra had a question for @Shamil and seems like they are going to join Carnity also. At this point we played on the front face of Fossil Rocks with soft sand it was not possible to climb very high. Soon we were done with the attempts and headed out. While driving out to the shaded area we had our first stuck, and the rope had to come out for the only one for this drive. After a quick recovery we were quickly headed to the trees. All managed well this quick drive and we found a nice shaded area. All the snacks and drinks were out and had an amazing chat and feedback session. Once the sun was on its peak and it was getting hot we moved out to the petrol station, inflated our tires and were back on our way home. Loved the company, loved the enthusiasm during the drive. What is your view about the quality of engine oils being sold by ADNOC when compared with other international brands. I am going away from agency service for the regular servicing of my vehicle so wanted to know if semi-synthetic oil offered at ADNOC is safe to use for my Prado.

Have been using adnoc silver 10w40 in most of my customers and my own cars never had an issue If you fancy and can shell out some extra then go for full synthetic 5w40 Lexus oil should run good for 50+ ambiance temperatures....

Maybe the alarm rang and they removed the fuse. Or just open the fuse box thinking they can short two wires under the steering to start the car as shown in movies. Next time leave the keys on sun visor, as that's the best place everyone leaves in Hollywood movies, so they dont break anything.

@Atif bhai, all oils are good, but I would go with @Gaurav bhai choice of Mobil 1.

We used to use it in rental contract cars. Never had any issues using it while following manufacturers service schedule

Semi Synthetic of any make is just a waste of money. Because there is no set guidelines as to what constitutes as semi Synthetic they can mix in 0.5% of semi syn and legally still sell it as semi syn. So busy out a little extra and get fully syn or save up and go full dino oil. As for Adnoc I used it long term on my range rovers and discovery and had no issues with it. At 300k I opened up the disco motor to replace the timing chain and it was still clean as a whistle.

Take it to a Auto electrician who can inspect all the 4WD switches and censors prior purchasing any parts. As per my understanding, under the hood below the air filter is the Solenoid switch (Its 1 set with 2 switches) Then underneath the vehicle, front differential area you will be able to find the actuator switches and the double switch, Some of them have have 6 whereas my 3.5 2015 GLS has only 5. I'm not sure if all of the mentioned will cause any vibrations. @Sidshk Did u change your timing belt recently ?

Just wished to remind everyone that its not a good idea to leave anything of value in the car overnight. My car was broken into as there was a FedEx envelope left by my daughter inside. Fortunately, it was empty. However, they tried to open the fuse box too for some reason. Another reminder, don’t leave your car engine ON unattended even if the key is with you. Although this happened in a neighboring country where my brothers BMW was taken for a joy ride while he was collecting his laundry. Insurance refused to compensate too. He was lucky though as two weeks later the Police were reported by a gentleman about an unidentifiable car parked outside the persons home.

Is it True the New Tahoes are much better than Land Cruiser? while having a debate in office this topic came up that the Tahoe is Cheaper more Powerful , more Economical in Fuel vise, more better options, better torque ,more horse power, more options better features more space. Has finally Chevy came up to give better competition Toyota or it only a Myth. I fell in love with a Tahoe I drove today for me it was far much better than driving LC200. If after this you have started or sometimes near this event your car feels funky then was the timing belt tensioner replaced and did you saw the old one with your own eyes ? If both things check no then guess your engine cams might have jumped a tooth... could be a distant possibility but not out of equation

That fuse door is usually has pocket to put change coins this use to happen in our neighborhood very much then police petrol increased all became good then few months ago the broke in 12 cars in one night on the same street...

In no particular order, 1 - Cars. That’s obvious, that’s why we’re on Carnity 2 - Music. I listen to a lot of genres. Play a few instruments too. I’ve been neglecting my playing but I started getting back into guitar and ukulele a couple of weeks ago. Been playing keyboards since I was 4-5 so it’s a lifelong thing 3 - Beer. I gave up drinking spirits a long time ago but I love to try new beers as much as possible 4 - DIY. I love fixing broken stuff. Next project is the water heater in the apartment now that winter is coming At home I used to enjoy hunting, mostly crossbow, sometimes shotgun and LR. It’s hard to beat some fresh fried rabbit. I used to fish a lot too, easy when the river is a 20 second walk from my back door. Fish from the supermarket can’t compare to a fresh trout or salmon you caught yourself. I used to hike a lot and would regularly spend 3-4 days in the mountains with just me and my dog and a tent. I used to cycle a lot. Used to be into racing too but it’s an expensive hobby. I miss my old life but it’s hard to do these things in UAE

I was doing the same work on a pajo this week what I did to sort it out was removed the front diff oil to check something crazy has not happened inside yet then poured new oil and then removed front differential actuator boot and lubricated it then changed the 2 switches besides the air filter and it became good And as for driving vibrations you could check the mounts the also contribute to that

Almost 50k price difference and not to mention looks a million times better. Reliability wise its also good. We had two Tahoes in the company we used for daily safaris and for the two years we had them. They really had no issues. Arabian Adventures whole Safari fleet was Tahoes before until a new bean counter manager came in sometime back and switched back to LCs But what really did it for me was my Land Lord in rad Al Khaimah had a 1995 with 470k ish kms on it and he literally raped it on a daily basis in the Desert. Since he really didn't know how to drive off road properly he would be just abusing it. But even after all that it drove like a dream on road engine smooth and no creaks and rattles. And he was and probably still is a big cheapskate and spent only the very necessary money that needed to be spent on it to keep it on the road.

Tahoe is indeed much better than LC since very long time. Everything you said is true about Tahoe. Only thing it lacks is the rock solid resale value compare to LC as people are almost blind here when it comes to Japanese and don't wanna try anything else for the sake of loosing tiny bit more resale value. My wife drives Trail Blazer and I kid you not it has best safety features and strength with very comfy ride on highway, like driving on a sofa compare to any other Japanese 4x4's I have owned.

Started of as a hobby and turned semi professional at it. Music production and sound engineering. Realistic Flight Simulator. Current weapon of choice. Flight Simulator X steam edition and favourite bird to fly the PMDG Boeing 777. Semi professional at video editing also but ever since I started getting paid work for it I stopped enjoying it so I stopped. Mostly because clients want a Hollywood blockbuster at late night cable infomercial budget. Wrenching on my and buddies ride is obvious of course. I would love to learn electronics as in where I can design my own PCB or maybe even start off with simple troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on things like lcd tvs, mobile phones and motherboards etc etc. Also really really really interested in astronomy nowadays ever since seeing the Hubble deep space image and first images of a black hole. Still looking for that right type of telescope at the right price to come along
