Abu Dhabi emirates is cheaper compared to sharjah and dubai. Maximum i had paid for full wash is AED 30.00 for saloon car and AED 35.00 for SUV almost all the service station in mussafah industrial area. Give AED 5.00 tips to the washer and i give him before he starts to wash and believe me sometimes i have to wave him to stop washing

That's what our first world mentality says sitting in sanctimonious high horses. But ask the people who are actually using it and benefited a great deal from it. Millions are earning some kind of income from it which they were not able to before. They are able to stay in touch with friends and family through messenger. I know many such artists who are promoting their art and gaining a name for themselves through this free access in their respective countries and communities. Small online service oriented bussiness have cropped up. Of course there are people who will waste it on stupid shit. But those can be found everywhere. Just like everything including the internet and Facebook it's up to you how you use it. Just today I was having a discussion with the Mrs about this that literally the collective knowledge of the human race is at your disposal at your finger tips but what do most people do with this ennourmous blessing? Waste it on bullshit like tiktok and Instagram

Who me, I only bother myself during passing to wash my car. It's that time of the year. I pay AED 105 at Enoc near Marriott Jadaf. Once in a while I pay AED 37 to any car service station in Sharjah if I can't see where I'm going due to the dirt on my car.

It’s a nice concept, the idea of providing internet access to anyone, no matter how remote they are. I would guess the implementation is one of Mr Musks 420 bro ideas. It is getting pretty crowded up there now. There are currently around 5,000 man made satellites in the sky, with less than half still operational. The total amount of objects including junk currently being tracked are around 20,000 and there are an estimated 128 million tiny pieces flying around up there. It’s only a matter of time before something hits one of SpaceX’s rockets and destroys it, then the crying will begin. Humans are pretty shit. Not content with destroying the land and water with garbage, we’re destroying the sky with garbage too. It’s no wonder aliens don’t want to contact us. We might have computers, phones, cars etc but we’re still pretty primitive.

Yes it include Full wash - underbody,Engine bay,inside out. and 31.50 was including VAT. Usually complete wash in Alain costs bw 35-45 maximum. body wash + Interior = 20 to 25

It is not always that easy. I have seen mechanics mistake the natural resilience of rubber bushes for excessive freeplay. You really want someone who knows what he is looking at.

OR Go to a better mechanic. Any decent mechanic at any tire shop, or even at autopro can point the bad bushing with one look.

Recently I explored few automatic and manual car wash in Dubai and Sharjah while putting kms after my engine rebuild and found massive price difference with very little impact on quality. I have been going to ENOC full wash (Quality: 9 out of 10) or Grand Service Center (Quality: 10 out of 10) manual car wash in Dubai. ENOC manual car wash cost 105 AED and GSS full car wash cost 126 AED. As we all get full manual car wash often, so it was a good exercise for me to put some kms to a good use. In my recent experiment, I have personally check the facility, size, rush, workmanship and location of more than 10 different car wash in Dubai and Sharjah. I found that Havoline Car Steam Wash in Sharjah is one of the cheapest place for getting the Manual Car Wash for 37 AED with minimal rush, as they have 8 bay and with reasonably good workmanship (8 out of 10). Of course they aren't as flashy or shiny like Grand Service Center, but for quarter the price I was quiet happy and satisfied. Free access to Facebook in third world countries is one of the worst possible ways to roll out a free internet service. It just perpetuates the spread of misinformation, populism, and keeps people in ignorance. Giving people free access to something like wikipedia would be far more useful.

If anyone using Smiles app they have %50 discount for Steam wash at Emarat petrol stations. I think it is coming around 67.50 or something. I used few times, i think good deal.

The whole diagnostic process in UAE is pretty backwards. People are either scared of to don’t know the tools to do jobs properly. The ideal thing would be to put the car on shaker plates which would show you any faulty bushings or other suspension parts instantly but I’ve never even seen a garage here who has it.

yea i also get my car mostly washed from sharjah for 37dhs. And in my opinion, they do a better job than their dubai counterparts that take around 60-100dhs to do the same job.

Well not really, but I have used auto pro mechanic few times and they were able to catch stuff very fast. They dont always fix all type of mechanical stuff there but getting right diagnostic is the first step in right direction. You can try auto pro opposite Latifah hospital and another good opposite mirdiff city center in warqa entrance. Also had a brief good experience at autotech in ras al khor, where his mechanic literally gone down to the stage of explaining the difference of freeplay and torn engine mounts.

I’ve done a few sets. It’s not difficult but it’s time consuming. Waiting for coats of paint to dry so you can sand them down ready for another coat is the worst part. First you need the wheels to be thoroughly clean. Sand down any parts of the scratches/gouges with rough sandpaper or a grinder so they are level with the rest of the surface of the wheel. Then fill the holes with isopon. When dry, rub it down flat with fine sandpaper. Then just follow the normal wheel painting procedure. Sand the whole wheel down to make a good surface for the primer to stick. Spray primer. Rub down. Spray primer again. Rub down. Spray topcoat. Rub down. Spray topcoat. Run down. Spray topcoat. Spray clear coat. Spray clear coat. It helps if you break the bead on the tyre before you start. Makes the masking and painting process a lot easier

I am a long-time amateur astronomer, and I have three questions about this scheme that I have wanted to ask since this madness first became known- 1) Since Elon Musk is all about astronomy, and space exploration, and was he perhaps drunk when he thought up this idiotic plan? 2) What idiot, or group of idiots, approved this moronic plan? 3) Did NASA play any role in approving this idiotic plan, and if they did, was it because they were afraid of losing SpaceX's boosters, (seeing that they have no lifting capability of their own) if they did not go along with this asinine idea? As I said, I spend a lot of time watching the night sky, and while I don't do astrophotography anymore, nobody in the world who does will be able to take long exposure pictures without capturing God knows how many satellite trails, as well. 'Nuff Said.

As that area is quite poshy with many supercars going to that place, they really look into the details. I've tried same Autopro in Motor City a few times now but they much slower and less organized.

Hi All, Glad to have found this club and joined it. I have a Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 and have no off-road experience at all, apart from driving on the beach sand. Since I am an absolute newbie and I am joining for the Al Qudra - Solar Park event, it would be very helpful if somebody can clarify my below mentioned doubts; 1) Do I need to have any equipment before I join the drive? I have no off-road equipment as of now. 2) Can I use Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 for this drive? 3) Can a friend or family member accompany me during the drive? Thanks in advance. Nothing in life is free, but I'm talking about taking it for face value right now. Like many people are making noise about free access to Facebook across many poor African nations. Around 655 million people who previously had no access to Internet or very expensive internet now can access Facebook. Now tell me what is better no access or some free access even if it is through Facebook?

@desertdude do you really think it will be free though? The estimated cost to build the infrastructure is in the region of $10 billion. I know Elon Musk thinks himself as something of a philanthropist but that's a big outlay and I'm sure he will look to recoup the costs somehow. The neighboring village from my home village is using a satellite internet network. They were lucky to get 500 kbps download speed through the lines on a good day. The satellite network gives them over 10 gbps with a big but. It costs them over double the price of the wired network. It's a necessity for the people in the area running businesses so there's not much they can do but cry and suck it up.

But they sure are curious about we are up to. As for the rest, it's just more sky is falling sensationalism. Most of it is small debris. An astronaut loses a screw during a spacewalk that also becomes part of the record. The Earth is huge and it's sky even huge-er take the UAE and spread 5000 cars ( avg size of a satellite ) around it or throw 128 million basketballs ( avg size of space debris ) all over it. You think it will get crowded? Now spread this all over the Earth and see it's really not as big a deal as some are making it out to be. Most of this will eventually burn up in the atmosphere anyways And majority of it not all is not because some careless person went in vacation and left his chocolate wrappers and juice boxes behind. Unnecessarily littering space is another thing like testing missiles to blow up satellites and creating a big debri field for no real good reason. If a few sats get damaged due to collisions with space junk then that's just the price to pay. But right now it's pretty rare. The ISS space station has been in orbit for 20 plus years now and very rarely does this happen. Last time it did. They literally plugged the hole with there finger and later some duct tape. No I'm not joking you can look this up So we should deprive the world from free internet because a few astrophotographers might get some sat trails in their pics? Has anyone tried to remove the scratch marks on the alloy wheels. Some of them are just not on the surface and run a bit deep. Where can I get it fixed and what would be the cost involved? Also, has anyone tried to do it by themselves?

Lift the car up. then first hold the tyre at the 3 and 6 o'clock positions and jiggle it then the 12 and 6 and do the same 5o check for play. Then Take a tie rod and jam in between all the bushes and give it push and pull and see which bush has excessive play or is visibly cracked or squished

Welcome @Nayan Shenai to Carnity and it's off-road club. The basic minimum requirement for Carnity offroad drive is to have a 4x4 vehicle: With minimum of 10-12 inches of ground clearance and Front and back tow hook in good usable condition. Apart from that everything else can wait for your next drive. Once you join the first drive, you will be given detailed brief on how to drive off-road with all the tips and techniques. Towards the end we will also show the importance and how to use the offroad and safety gears. After your first drive, it is advisable to buy two-way radio, shovel and flag if you like to continue off-roading. It is usually advisable to drive alone for absolute first timer so that you can focus on learning skills and techniques without any distraction, but it's completely your choice at the end.

In my country it is illegal to honk at anyone or anything unless there is some sort of emergency, and honking is required to warn other drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, drunken/unlicensed taxi drivers, and/or drunken/unlicensed bus drivers of the danger. If however, everyone who honked illegally were ticketed by real cops and the fines were collected and not stolen by bogus cops, we could wipe out our national debt in a few days.

Back in the 70s UAE had one lane going into Dubai from Sharjah and one lane on the return. Sheikh Zayed Road was similar. Sharjah and Ajman have always had cheap housing and Dubai always offered jobs for all. The traffic in those days used to be just as bad. Come the 80s they made 2 lane roads Dubai to Sharjah, with Garhood bridge added to the 2 lanes on Maktoum bridge. Traffic has always been somewhat tough and honking has always been the first language spoken on the UAE roads. A sample of it is UAE residents are too lazy and even for a can of Pepsi would honk at a grocery store to get it for them.

Big respect to you @Srikumar and @Gaurav. I’ve seen the videos of traffic in Indian cities and it must take chromium clangers to drive through that. I would rather set myself on fire.

I guess its something to do with size of population on any given road. In 1970-80 with few thousand cars in UAE, no one was honking here in Dubai and not much red lights were there. I'm in Dubai since 2000 and remember reaching Internet city in 10-15 minutes from Bur Dubai. Now with 5 million cars everyone at least honk here almost daily. Now imagine with 300+ million cars in India. @Frederic how is China? Do they also honk a lot?
