You can use any floor jack with extra wooden plank, as mentioned above OR buy additional few inches of rubber or metal adapter to suit your lift.

We plan to explore Bu Hasa area near Madinat Zayed City this time and head toward Liwa Oasis direction while passing through "Tropic of Cancer" and visiting the famous "Liwa Yellow Truck" a abandoned water tanker buried in desert since so many years. Those who wish to join this drive from Dubai it's a 3+ hours to the meeting point, so ideally well rested body will enjoy this whole day drive without much fatigue, so reaching a night before and camping or sleeping in the car at meeting point would be ideal, but completely optional for everyone. I am glad you realize 35inch tyres will rob you from a lot of power in desert driving, and in combination with the lift kit it might be a bit high for a hydraulic floor jack. But have you tried it already ? I have lifted quite some cars already with my floorjack and if the height becomes an issue i just add some extra wooden planks. Eventually its good enough for fixing a pop out. The Hi-Lift is an amazing tool if you know how to use it, but not so easy and can be extremely dangerous. Exhaust Jacks will probably not work, the biggest model i have soon (from Australia) was fine but this was a 1000+ AED jack, and the risk of burning the bag when you put it too close to your engine or exhaust is there.

You can try other similar brand as far as they look and feel sturdy and heavy enough, then 2 ton jack is fine. Stay away from the flimsy ones. JZX jack is out of stock from sometime now, I guess due to logistics lag after covid lockdown. It's totally understandable.

If you intend to lift the vehicle in the desert, you'll need a floor Jack, as a bottle jack is not stable enough unless you weld it on a kind of platform. When buying a 2T floorjack go for the JZX brand available in Dragon Mart or the YATO brand from Speedex. You will only be lifting a portion of the car so a 2ton jack is sufficient. A 3ton is of course better and more stable but extremely heavy to take in your car and carry it around in the dunes.

My Prado is is around 2.5 ton and comes with a bottle type jack. Do I need to have a floor type jack and does it have to be over 2 ton rating? I notice that the 2 ton floor jack is advertised most frequently and is also compact compared to the 3 ton one. In addition, as I don’t intend to lift the whole car but rather a portion of it, is the 2 ton one sufficient or is it unsafe? Await good advice!

In case, you dont, then for the Absolute Newbie Drive we shall provide you with a spare one, but you would definitely need to get before your next drive. In case you have more offroad gears you are of course welcome to bring it along.

3 T jack is heavier but makes lifting extremely easy once you have it in right position. The YATO brand in speedex had the last one few days back too ! I will see if I can order it on line though these items I prefer to buy them on the spot in order to avoid inconvenience should it occur!

The JZX 2T floor jack is out of stock, i went to DM today 🙁

As @Frederic mentioned in the desert the bottle jack is very narrow and does not give a good base, very unstable. Thus a floor jack of 2 tonnes should be sufficient. You are not going to lift the complete 2.5 tonnes at any given time. But make sure you're on as flat a surface in the desert before jacking the car and get a jack board as your base.
