Hi all, Nathan here. new to carnity and to the dunes, have done a few drives now with the club as a newbie and having a blast. have a bit of experience off road but mostly mud/rock and winch work, most of my sand experience has been on the sand island in Australia. Very different to our desert here. I have picked up a old abused SWB Pajero that I am slowly fixing up, hopefully it will become a capable and reliable drive. thanks for having me in the club, been great so far and looking forward to picking up new skills with you all on the dunes. cheers, Nathan

Dear Desertnauts, a quick update on tomorrow's drive. Please note the update meeting point, at Tawi Nazwa. Please try to reach a bit earlier than 2:30, so we may use up as much sunlight as possible (sunset scheduled at 6:09, with dark arriving at 6:32). The convoy order is as follows: @Senthil Kumar in Second Lead @Ashutosh Garg in #3 @Imran Kashif #4 @Fabien Monleau at the Center @Sunil Mathew at #6 @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler #7, and @Waqas Parvez in Sweep. Radio channel to be picked tomorrow before starting. As usual, in the case of my drives, not much to roam around a limited area, but rather a relatively long-range drive, shooting almost straight toward Big Red (2 sets of star-shaped dunes there), then across the highway into Badayer, and the several pyramids strung along from Badayer all the way to Bezhad Ranch (no fixed exit point has been planned yet). See you all tomorrow.

Another great experience following the lines of @Hisham Masaad. First drive for me at this level, I definitely felt the jump in pace and intensity. Looking forward for the next one! (Winter is coming, so you need “finger F1 speed” and some luck to get a spot!). Hisham, many thanks for adding me to the group chat as well. Hi @Nathan L Fantastic choice , with both the C's, First is @Carnity and second is the Car! 😎, You have many here who can give you a lot of inputs on how fantastic Pajeros are! I have done my first drive with @Vanessa8580 in her Pajero, and followed by that with @Gaurav and quite a few drives FB and above with @Gaurav Soni with their respective pajeros😎😁! So going by this, am sure u will be soon leading the convoy, matter of time;) See you soon in sand✌️🤘🏽!

@Vanessa8580 Thanks for a fantastic drive as always loved every minute of it, got off to a ropey start with all that fog on the way down but once the current bun came out it soon burnt off making for a beautiful morning. As always you picked a stunning route through the desert that gave us every thing that the team took in their stride. we had a couple of refusals and stucks but that all adds to the fun and the learning. and Thanks to @Warren Flay for the Second Lead as always inch perfect. we had a great pair of sweepers in @Looper and @Zed appreciate you guys for all the help and assistance and keeping the rear of the convey ( Me and you both) in Check. @Jessica Lambert @Paul Zietsman and @Zulfikhar Naiyar you all drove brilliantly was a pleasure to meet you all and i really hope you had a great morning of fun and sun in the desert. Hi Nathan, welcome to Carnity. I am driving a LWB stock Pajero and I am loving my Big Blue ! You made a good choice with the car, they are very reliable and once you get to really know your car you can do anything with it, even making it to Marshal like I did 😁 Good luck and I hope to see you soon in one of my drives 😉

Welcome @Nathan Land glad to have you on board. Have had quite a few drives with you and you have done extremely well from the very first one. Like the others have said, the SWB Pajero is quite capable and you handle it really well too. Welcome again and thanks for the additional help on the drives with the shovel and also when we had to remove the lower fascia on the lexus recently. See you in the sand pit soon.

Congratulations @M.Seidam for reaching the Marshal level with Carnity Offroad Club. Seidam joined Carnity in mid-2020 with his Jeep Grand Cherokee and great enthusiasm for off-roading. Later it got upgraded to Xterra to continue the passion and excitement to conquer every dune. Just like all the levels in Carnity offroad club is "NOT" only based on driving skills but instead based on the combination of your personality + intelligence + team spirit + adventure. This Marshal title is an epitome for all levels in the offroad grading structure. So if anyone wants to grow, they can set any of Carnity Offroad Club Marshal as a PERFECT example for not only following the driving skills and style but also observing their behavior, teamwork, presence of mind, calculative approach, patience and tolerance to teach and support new offroaders.

Hi @Nathan L, welcome to a family-like community. I am sure you have felt the warm welcome from the start and this will will continue throughout your journey in @Carnity. As a proud Pajero owner, rest assured that it is an unstoppable car. I am no expert driver (Yet) but I have been enjoying the journey to date. One piece of advice I can give you is it’s always 20% car and 80% skills, regardless of what car you drive. Make sure you pick the brains of every single lead in every drive, listen, watch and enjoy your journey as you grow week after week. Welcome on board!

Drives at Sweihan means earlier than usual alarms times and long drives to the meeting point. But the allure of the tall dunes deflects any hesitation to join these drives. Thank you @Vanessa8580 for a wonderful drive and @Davie Chase + @Zed for great support. @Warren Flay you did an excellent job in the second lead. @Jessica Lambert good to see you after the summer vacation and congratulations on your new ride. @Zulfikhar Naiyar we last drove in Tawi Nazwa and since then I can see a lot of improvement in your driving. You drove confidently and had good control in the dunes. @Paul Zietsman hope you are able to fix the foot board on your car easily. Being a beast of a car and having a long wheelbase, it can be challenging, but you have shown that it can be done nevertheless. See you all soon back in where we belong - somewhere in the desert. Thank you everyone for a smashing morning. @Frederic @GauravSoni @Amr Aydin @Alexanderrr @Simon Dawood @Zed @Waqas Parvez @ASAD. @Vaibhav@DP1011 , Deepak wrangler @Anoop Nair @Tom B @Looper The heavy fog gave us all the rare moment where we could spend sometime having a few good laughs and chats, getting to know each other a little better. After loosing almost 2 hours of the planned drive time when the sun came out, it was in it's full glory creating TBH a pretty unbearable weather. However, with us able to start the drive it was just a little bump on what otherwise was a perfect day. As we were approaching Old Lady Dune to take in her blessing @GauravSoni messaged on the radio that his car was having issues. Since we were starting the drive already pretty late it was decided that's it would be best for him to exit out. Hope the issue is a minor one and that things are fixed pretty soon.. After Gaurav's exit we headed East closer to Al Ain airport where we were treated to 2 absolutely beautiful bowls. If the weather was not hot enough you could feel the added heat of each driver trying to climb higher and faster than the previous. 😂 What followed after was probably the best session of fast paced offroading I have been a part off. The criss crossings, sharp ridges, rolling dunes along with a fantastic bunch of drivers gave me the freedom to really push the limit. With the weather getting increasingly hot and since we had already offshot our planned exit time, it was decided to head to the tarmac. Thank you @Looper for taking care of the sweep duties, with so many heavy bulldozers in the convoys I am sure there would have been no tracks remaining. But it was very reassuring to know that you were at the back of a very long convoy. Finally to my very close buddy @Frederic thank you for joining this drive. It has been way too long since we have driven together on an IM drive. The moment you mentioned last Sunday that you were going to join, I was doubly excited for today's drive. We were only missing our 3rd musketeer @Gaurav, hopefully we can have another drive soon with all of us in it. Thank you Sweihan boys once again. Take care.
