@Islam Soliman thanks for a wonderful drive today really enjoyed it, it had a little of everything and tested the newbies whom all stepped up and answered the call amazingly well. @Jesper Weltström @lucas amat @george charbel@Ben Lee @James Lovell @Usman Basit @Juzer Gandhi @Misha Puskar you guys drove superbly which made our jobs of supporting you so much easier. yes the sand was a little harder than usual after the rains of the past few weeks, however, that does not take anything away from the skill you guys showed us today as you took on every challenge head on and over come each and every one. Well done to all. @Misha Puskar hope you are feeling better and I would like to wish you a speedy recovery @James Lovell brilliant SL my friend you managed it like a true professional and of course my good friend @Fabien Monleau great support in the CF position, we had very little to do but what we did manage to do we did well. Dear @Jesper Weltström @lucas amat @george charbel@Ben Lee @James Lovell @Usman Basit @Juzer Gandhi @Misha Puskar it was pleasure driving with all of you this morning and you all did a great job crossing Lisaili to Qudra lakes demonstrating great driving skills, patience, and team work. Together we experienced different types of terrain ranging from baby tight dunes, bushy and bumpy grounds, med size long ranges, small bowls, finally closing with the lavish green lakes. From staring crossings, long range sidies, arches, and even basic crest crossing and you all did very well with great coordination communications We also experienced the magic of self recovery using controlled gas and steering, shoveling, and rope towing recovery techniques.. With all of the above you covered on the itinerary you covered over 54KM in around 3hrs.. a great indication of how well you all did, Bravo everyone 🙌🙌🙌 a huge shout out to the outstanding support of @Davie Chase and @Fabien Monleau and the excellent second lead by @James Lovell @Misha Puskar I wish you speedy recovery and hope to see you soon on the sand along with the rest of the team @babaski I hope everything is ok with you, we didn’t hear anything from you and you didn’t show up this morning. One of the drives, thank you all for making it today. It was really missing @Ranjan Das, whom I hope he feel better by now. Amazing group of drivers, who were not allowing me to “yalla push” them. They are already pushed, and good they did not overtake me 😅. Was foggy weather, and by the time reached and got ready, it was getting clear, and we started our adventure. Fantastic till the end. Had only one crest and my only pop out. @Ashutosh Garg thank you very much for being an amazing SL, amazing job. @Mehmet Volga very happy and glad to meet you again after long time, and thank you very much for watching us in the back. @Tareq Al Turq hope you enjoyed the drive, and started tasting the IM level drives. @Islam Solimantold us, at the briefing, that he could be the first one to get stacked. An unexpected pocket behind a dune and as a real Leader, he did what he said 😉Once again, I was relief not to be the first one 🤣 A quick recovery, beautifully managed by @Davie Chase and the convoy was back on track. Certainly helped by hard sand after the heavy rains and the professional lead of @Islam Soliman , this Newbie convoy drove perfectly well in between Lisali and Al Quadra, with few shoveling, leaving the Support Team almost useless 😭 I really enjoyed driving with you this morning and hope to drive with you again. Have a lovely week 😉

Thanks 🙏 @Ale Vallecchi for the cool drive we had this morning. It was a compination of fun and focus. We learned today many techniques on ridge riding, criss-crossing and proper car controlling on technical dunes.. we practice it i think on tight dunes for an hour.. Amazingly all did well. @Paul Zietsman did you get this sorted eventually ? A neighbour of mine drives a Dodge Ram and has been looking for the solution to properly deactivate his airbags.

Thank you @Brettefor an amazing drive. We had a surprise addition @Rizwanm2who was a great help taking care of the sweep. With few of them missing from the drive last moment convoy adjustment by @Bretteensured we had a smooth drive. @Stan Hassettexcellent job as second lead. Almost half of the drive completion as we heading towards Big red @Ahmad Quadri had a engine heat indication. Looking from a distance thought it was a radiator issue but noticed there was Coolant leak. As soon we exited the @Ahmad Quadrito the nearest exit we headed to Big Red. On the way to destination we had stuck situation with @essam ibrahim which was challenging as the sand was extremely soft and moving the car was making it tilt further it could result in a pop out. @Brette and @Rizwanm2 along with myself anchored the car and removed it safely. I believe I now found the holy grail of deactivating the airbags on the RAM 1500. It was as simple as asking the dealership. Although they didn't have a OEM switch, they some how improvised and fitted a nanny kill switch for me, switching off all the bothersome systems when off roading with a simple toggle underneath the steering. Will test it oit on Saturday.

Drive Info The plan is to have a sunset FB+ level drive covering Lisaili, Murqab and Qudra for around 3 hours in total from 4- 7 PM. Post 7PM, we find a nice spot very close to exit point and have a campfire & enjoy the weather. It is optional to stay back for campfire part. As we would finish the drive very close to a exit track, drive members are free to leave anytime after 7pm. We can wrap up the camp fire around 10-11 PM. I believe, or should perhaps say hope that I am onse step closer to resolve the RAM 1500 airbag deactivation riddle. I found an interesting device that the Police in the U.S. aparnalty uses to shut down the airbags in their vehicles, as can be seen at the webpage below. There are 2 ways to resolve the airbags issie on the 2019 onwards RAM 1500: 1. Pulling a fuse. I just have to get the number of the fuse again. It took me some time to figure it out as the manufaturer is not keen to encourage people to shut it off. 2. I asked the RAM dealership to install a kill switch when I took it in for a service. They fitted a none OEM switch and asked AED 900. It was however invoiced on OEM paper and should thus not impact the warranty. For both options you have to give it 2 min, as the system has a back-up battery that lasts about 2 min. I therefore switch mine off when I start to deflate to be sure that the battery would be gone once I start to drive. If you have a Limited, then there are some more issues. As soon as you pull the fuse or use the switch, the system outomatically switches on the traction control and it then gets stuck in it. Once the vehicle starts to move, the airsuspension also automatically drops out off Offroad to normal mode and then gets stuck. You thus have to get the vehicle on the right suspension setting and then pull the fuses for the airsuspension en tractioncontrol as well, before you switch of the airbags. I have a switch for the traction controle and will ask the Dealership to install one for the suspension as well when I take it for a service again. For now I just pull the fuse for the suspension. Driving the RAM 1500 is like flying a plane with all the switches I have to flip before I go offroad.

I almost thought the drive would be cancelled when I saw the fog in the morning. But then everyone turned up and the weather was beautiful by the time we started. It was one of the first drives I have been where there were no stucks, only refusals and all self recovered. So no added experience of recoveries but on the other hand we covered lot of ground and practiced on bowls, technical dunes and climbs. Thanks @JeromeFJ for planning such a scenic and varied route with plenty of challenging bits with the related learning opportunities. Thanks also to@Islam Soliman for the very useful tips and advice throughout the drive. Was a pleasure meeting all the folks in the drive, look forward to seeing you all next time.

What’s started as an extremely smooth journey coupled with amazing weather, perfect dunes and fantastic convoy members ended with a very important lesson in team work and community spirit . Really thankful to @Brette, @Vaibhav and Rizwan for leading convoy! @Nicholas Cox1 & @Sammy Six it was nice driving with you guys! Dear Drivers, thank you for joining this morning, cutting carefully through the early morning fog to reach the meeting point. Once the briefing done, we had enough visibility to start going, and even if it remained cloudy in the first hour, we had then beautiful views of clouds and mountains, until the sky was totally cleared. I like this itinerary, because if offers a great variety of terrains. We have the small dunes at the beginning as a warm-up, but the hidden bowls soon require to be fully awake. These bowls and the long dune are a perfect preparation for the last part of the drive with higher slopes to come. Then the scenic technical portion, with the red/yellow sand facing the dark mountains is just beautiful. And then we have the slopes of Faya dune, with the big drops and the high climbs where the words "keep a constant momentum" and "don't fight the gravity" take all their meaning. @Abdul Basit Khan thank you for the second lead, very well executed. @Thejas Uthran, congratulations for your 1st FB drive. Your driving is precise, and you managed to take your car through the obstacles. @Rashid Alseeni, well done also for your 1st FB. A constant momentum will help you to pass smoothly the bowls and the climbs. @Nadeem Ansari, 1st FB drive also, once the tires pressure was adjusted, you have improved the behavior of your car. Be more focused on your line and momentum to progress in the coming drives. @rohit kumar, well done for the 1st FB as well, the Raptor has a lot of capabilities, but still it is a heavy beast that must be kept under control, you did it well. @Gary F, @Joseph Sebastian, excellent drive for both of you. remember to keep the control at all time, including in the descends. @Bjoern, excellent drive, and many thanks for the sweep, and to your passenger for the comms !
