  1. Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for joining the drive this morning. This area of Nahel is never disappointing, and again today we could enjoy these beautiful dunes. We had virgin sand most of the time, and could not see any other car during the whole drive. The drive was not easy though, as we went through a few high climbs, deep bowls and impressive descends. All of you managed very well as nobody got stuck despite the soft sand, and we had only a few pop-outs. The drive was very fluid, surfing from one dune to the other, and we maintained an appreciable pace of 23.2 km/h average moving speed for a total 66 km. Nathan @Stumpy Paj, thank you for the 2nd lead, you had to stop unexpectedly a few times, and for the support during the pop-out resolution. @Deepak Eswar, nice to see your new ride, you have seen the benefit of having more power in that "Blue Jeep Bowl". A few more drives and you will control it even better. @FERNANDO SYRIO, nice meeting you for the 1st time. Excellent drive for you today, managing to take the Fortuner through the obstacles. Brett @Bravoecho, our most experienced Fewbie today, you are ready for the next level. @Bjoern always a pleasure to have you in a drive. Thank you for doing your 1st drive as IM with us. You totally deserve the new level. @Naveen Raj, with a new car also, take the time to adjust to the capabilities of the Jeep, But you have already seen the potential with a perfect line in one of the high bowls today. @Mehmet Volga thanks for joining and sweeping the convoy, guiding drivers out of the refusals, always nice driving with you. If you have some photos, please share them here or in the Gallery. Enjoy the rest of the weekend !

  3. In a convoy that was full of IM and above drivers, you did exceptionally well to not be fazed by it. The drive indeed was at a brisk pace and that was possible due to the entire convoy.

  4. Great , great drive, night drives hit different especially when you are climbing and climbing and then you realise you are still climbing and have no idea how high you are as you you can see the floor no more.. This drive certainly felt more Fewbie ++ then Fewbie + Thanks @Srikumar for an exciting drive, @AlexM well don’t on the 2nd lead and keeping up the pace. @Asif Hussain I had fun following your xtrerra and reroutes through the night.. you got me at that crossover , when I crested.. Thanks all for the support.

  5. Thanks @Gary F you were fantastic in your sand runner. Believe me initially I was looking behind at every ridge thinking that you might get crusted with your LWB, but whenever I looked back I is to find you next to me.

  7. Hi @GauravSoni the night drive finished at 3am, so after 5 hrs driving + 50 litres of petrol, both the car and driver felt 2 hrs of sleep won't be enough 😅 . Until next time bro, will take a rain check for today and i've removed myself from the list 🫡

  11. It was a great night drive in al Yaher ( now aamerah) …..thanks to @Srikumarfor choosing the nearest spot from my house for this night adventure where I felt I am driving with sunglasses on at night as hardly could make out the height of dunes we climbing …… convoy was excellent ….. special thanks to @Zedfor taking all the bumps and bashes and clearing my path 😇…… @Asif Hussainyour exit from that bowl at night with your stock car not even with extra light in your exterra is like looking for a needle in darkness 😅….. but you made in out safely …… hope to catch up soon in dunes …..

  12. Amazing drive @JeromeFJ a great start with my new ride, really enjoyed till end especially the big bowls. I was very much in sync with LWB pajero but it seems I will need few more drives to tame the rubi. Everyone drove well with no stucks and only had few refusals. Not to mention the additional break time we got in the scorching heat ( thanks to the pop outs). Some pics posted in gallery. Have a great weekend everyone.

  14. today there was situation in the middle of the desert, Where i could not shift in to a gear. the gear lever was free flowing up and down, where i felt there is no connection between gear lever and gearbox. car was in same gear and it not shift into any other gear(in my case it was neutral) . Apparently this is a common issue in many Nissan vehicles such as Xterra, Pathfinder, Titan, Frontier, Etc. the cause of the problem was part called Gear Shift Cable Grommet part number "NI1KIT" below video is self explanatory to do the complete DIY repair. However if you are in middle of no where and needed quick fix to get out of a situation, you can follow below steps. 1. Gently grab center console cup holder and pull it out. 2. Grab the bottom of the plastic cover surrounding the gear lever and gently pull up and remove it. 3. Remove the below highlighted pin/lock holding the gear shifting cable in place. 3. after pin/lock is removed grab the cable and push it inside until the front side of the cable come out of the gear shift lever mechanism. 4. Grab the cable cover with one hand and hold it tightly, now grab the steel cable with the other hand and push or pull the cable slowly until you get in to the desired gear. you can see the gear position in your dash. 5. once you engage the desired gear you can leave the cable and move the car safely. Disclaimer. please use above steps cautiously at your own risk.

  15. I had same issue with my 2015 Xterra last night. After watching this video I was so confident I had to teach the mechanic how to fix it. The mechanics got surprised and had no way to play around. Very helpful video topic. Appreciate.

  18. @Arvind Uchil I did post earlier that unfortunately you are still a Newbie, this means that you cannot join a Fewbie or above drive. You can only join drives at or below your current rank. So at the moment you can only join Newbie drives. Therefore, I am unable to add you to this drive as it is Fewbie and above. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
