  2. Dear Desertnauts here's the info for tomorrow's morning drive. TIME: Yes, it's 7:30 AM (that's not a mistake). I like later starts, as I've realized the difference in temperature is actually minimum compared to a 6:00 am start, but the mood of the drivers (at least mine) is surely better 😁 MEETING PLACE: See the updated drive's post for Google Maps directions. It's located off of E44, in the village of Rafadah, just between Badayer's Quad rentals area, and the town of Al Madam (which you do not have to reach). I'll try to reach plenty ahead of time, so you will see me waiting at the deflating and starting point along the village's track. DRIVING PLAN: We'll enter just behind the big dune of Iftar Bowl, we'll head north toward Badayer, circling the big dune and aiming for a couple of tall sand pyramids just beyond, driving along their slopes, before looping back, passing Iftar Bowl again, and Super Bowl, and finally heading through tighter technical dunes toward our exit at Ghost Town. We should take anywhere between 3 and 4 hours. CONVOY ORDER: @Ishak in Second Lead @Lea Degner at #3 @SUMEDH KRISHNA WAGHMARE at #4 @Soufiane at #5 @Mahesh_ at #6 @Arravind #7 @JERINE_B at Center @Martin M at #9 @Usman Basit at #10 @frederic demolder at #11 @Anas Arif #12 and @Theo09 in Sweep REQUIRED ATTIRE: Please wear a mask, a costume, a face painting, car decorations, or anything else that will show you are in the proper Halloween mood 🥸. Kids and families are welcomed. Keep in mind that we'll exit at Ghost Town, where we'll walk into the ghost village to take a photo of the group, before visiting the houses disappearing beneath the dunes. The best "attired" member/car will receive a pumpkin full of treats. The tricks will be those we'll have to adopt while driving to Ghost Town. Enjoy your Saturday and see you tomorrow.

  3. Fantastic drive today! Thankyou @looper! Well done to all, special shout to @Patrick van der Loo for tough job in SL and @Rajiv Sam sweeping! "Looking back in the choices the made to join the drive" is a very true statement! At the beginning and around superbowl it was muddy/cruddy/horrible in the tracks at the back. However, it was a great drive in-between those at the beginning and the sand and route chosen by looper through the second half made it a fantastic morning! Thanks again and well done to everyone!

  4. This is the first IM drive that I posted. It was only a portion of drive of the Team Looper practice run in which we started from the 2nd Dec Cafe and ended at Shuwaib. In that drive we did around ±85 km. But what I didn't realise at that time but later that we did a fantastic amount of milage on this drive about ±92 km. Today's rule was: do not fight gravity and giving in to the tracks and go where they take you. It was a miracle that we did not have any pop outs and only had few refusals that the driver could self-recover and at no time we had needed any kind of assistance from others in any of the refusals. In the morning when we started it was a bit nasty, due to all the wet sand in that area. everyone was struggling and perhaps looking back on the choices they made to join this drive. As the sun kept rising the convoy got into the rhythm and we found our matching tune. It was a lot more fun drive after we left Iftar Bowl and we found a some fantastic spots after we crossed Super Bowl behind, which is a trash bind for all intends and purposes. I loved the small technical patch we did. Frankly It has been ages that I have seen pristine desert. I could have driven more in that place, riding on the bland ridges it was 100% therapeutic for me. @Patrick van der Loo, @Bjoern, @Ranjan Das, @Bashar Beasha, @Jona, @Amir Amiri, @Rob S, @Rajiv Sam - Thank you all for joining. See you in the next one. My other phone shows 92.06 km for the same track and 26.6 kmph.

  6. Thank you for the drive this morning @Frederic. It was great to be out in the sand since a long time. To be honest, I was expecting more time "over" the sand, smoothly scrolling through the dunes inside the car enjoying AC. It was one of these days where we were a bit more literally "in" the sand. Thanks everyone for the team spirit, a recovery session is always good to take !

  7. It’s taken a while to finish this project, my number plate mount got lost in shipment for a few weeks Before questioning my sanity with the wiring after, still need to sort out the reverse sensors. Had to make a loom with plugs for the camera and number plate light so I can get the tyre off easy.

  8. What a drive today. It’s true @Looper, at the beginning I had my doubts but after you announced it on the radio that we need to change the way we drive it turned into a really enjoyable challenge. Excellent effort from everyone, especially at the back, navigating through beat up tracks.

  24. Hi @Ale Vallecchi In the evening there was an incident in our building in Sharjah, on the 27th floor one apartment caught fire (everyone is safe). Though it was controlled within 20 minutes but had to evacuate the building. Sorry but kindly offload me from the list. Hopefully I will meet you all at the next drive.
