  1. Speed is one : couldn’t ride the ridge as it was curvy at the end to left.

looking carefully and in slow motion maybe when realized it at the end decided to ride to turn again but already the momentum ( always faster then the intended turn ) pushed him to the other side which caused the flip .here comes the precise control with speed in action and the sense of danger , I would complete the side down especially when you are attacking the slip side of this complex dune !🤔

I might not be right entirely so let’s see our Carnity leaders say

    cheers 🚙👍

Hi @Mohamed Seidam  all the seniors understand the challenge of the 7pm rush for spaces which is why we have a wait list for drives.

You are not, and did not request to be on the wait list. Even if we could extend drive numbers there are three people in the list ahead of you.

On this specific drive I will not take responsibility as drive lead to add numbers to the convoy. There is a highly technical element at the start of this drive.

@Gaurav @Srikumar and @Rahimdad the Carnity crew do everything possible to list as many drives as possible each week. Please do keep in mind, we are volunteers and each week we plan one or two drives so that the club members can enjoy the same passion we all have.

We do everything we can to accommodate as many people as possible.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I clicked in , but I will exit now, no issue at all dear @Wrangeld .

best wishes to all passionate drivers

    cheers and drive safe 🌷🚙

  3. I am so delighted to learn this good news . Another small step in climbing the Off road ladder and yet bigger one in bearing responsibility and ensuring safety to self and others.

Thank you @Gaurav for all the support and help all along. @Frederic I always read your valuable “ gold mine “ posts that are related to technique and desert navigation , todays one I already have on my smart phone but it feels easier now.Thank you.

Brother @Rahimdad I am overwhelmed with your appreciation and tolerance to others .

Some another leaders still I haven’t driven with them yet but surely the pleasure will be all mine to see you all in near future drives.

thank you all  fine people here and congratulations for all who were promoted.

Look far beyond dunes and if you can reach be ready To go further , it’s not our vehicles who carry us but our self determined spirit do!

    cheers and drive safe 🌷👍🚙

  4. Really car and motorbikes are entirely different worlds in all aspects and what can be applied in one world is inapplicable to other ( e.g : I can up shift from sec to 5th gear in a small 200cc motorcycle clutchless and sequentially up with no skip but in car still can skip one gear up if rpm high enough ) .same for pipe exhaust 🤔

  5. @Barry thanks for last info well clear

what if the muffler only totally removed will the sound ( sound pollution ) be worse than if the a whole was created from the exhaust pipe just after existing the engine ? What I am trying to say does pipe length affect sound ?

because I still believe that muffler helps only 30% of noise because it’s at the end

I had to take a break from the weekly drives because the school term has started for my son and did not want my son to start the new school term feeling exhausted due to waking early or sleeping too late.

Hopefully when the weather gets better, those evening drives can start earlier or morning drives to start later. Sorry! My preferred driving time is tuned to kids' sleeping schedule. 😅

@topgear I agree family comes first , I have similar matter now and that’s why can’t join evening drives and only morning one meanwhile what I do till I progress to newbie then the room gets wider and so on !

    cheers 👍🚙

  7. All what is called by Active assisted traction control system for 4WD won’t operate unless you are In Lo gear and in low rev .and as a matter of fact even no matter what you give a gas the sensors will keep the rev low to the limit before damage occurs to the differential and that what @Gaurav was trying to explain earlier . ( please correct me if I am mistaken ) .
now to try to simulate this complicated Fine process Manually is not , I think , impossible . You need i precise brain feet ( break, gas) coordination.

I was wandering really how rubicon Crowlers up a rocky mountain with steady gas and left foot on break when needed , but maybe this is another control technique as already their front and rear lockers on !

Thanks for your suggestion and yes we have been always trying to maximize all drives and not just newbie level as much as possible.

For maximizing drives, our biggest challenge is and always will be the forecasting the perfect balance of drive to meet the demand at all levels. This forecasting needs a constant experiment as it's a moving target. @Srikumar has been appointed to manage this aspect and he is always trying to optimize the number of drives vs attendance.

Just like in dunes you cannot replicate the learning of one dune to another, so Sri is always experimenting the best fit scenario with minimal waitlist but he has to constantly experiment this every week based on last weeks learning. And sometimes we do get stuck and face refusals like this week experiment of 2 newbie drives in the evening that caused a bit of disconnect with morning newbie drive.

Within the last two months, Sri has successfully scaled with the constant support of all trip leads from 60+ signups to 100+ now (107 as of now). We are truly blessed with dedicated and passionate offroaders who love off-roading and gives us this weekly challenge. We do request all offroaders to extend their love and support during this unprecedented growth and learning phase. And be rest assured that we are on top of this matter and handling this with utmost priority without compromising on any safety aspect.

Thank you @Gaurav and appreciate your response for clarifying this matter. And yes safety is at top priority with no compromise . Thanks to @Srikumar and all other senior team members who support each drive and after all we complete each other.

  9. It crossed my mind before diff lock was invented how off-roaders we’re doing it ?! In another words is there away to simulate diff lock manually ? As I know in some modern 4X4 the diff lock idea is based on the breaking system .then I came across this interesting topic by @syed salman raza . Thank you for sharing

Both @Gaurav and @desertdude Thanks for the feedback .

really this world is like the sea the more you drink the more you get thirsty !

    cheers 🌷🚙

A question, does a catalytic converter help reduce the noise? I thought the noise reduction was the job of the muffler.

I Agree . the muffler will reduce the noise by 30% .I am not expert , but I know it when I wanted to make some modification to my sport motorcycle on the pipe system , and when I came to know about RTA regulations I just changed the muffler only but not the catalytic converter.

i don’t know for cars how it works , long distance , some times double mufflers !

  11. Hi @Nivin

As far as I know catalytic converters being removed and whole pipe system changed in the world of motorcycles especially super sport to increase performance by increasing Horse power few increments ( which make difference in race events ) and for sound as well to become louder and deeper ( safety : hey bike is here ! )

however on road and as far as I know RTA are strict for that and I am afraid they may not pass the machine )

regarding cars I would assume it’s critical to be present .

    I agree with @Frederic and @sertac

It’s costly  and Sharjah scrapyard would Be not bad option to look for the parts needed . I know one guy in Ajman might help finding a solution for you .

    Name :Ahmed

    Tel : 050 946 0810

    good luck
