Wonderful idea!  I keep a manual log where I record each drive, including data such as time and distance covered, and any other remark about the drive.  I would not mind shifting from analog to digital.

I started maintaining it manually hence got this idea

  2. I am not sure if these features already exist or not on our website, but I thought it would be better if its there, If its there please let me know.

A page listing all the drives the individual has gone through already and RSVP with filters on level, year, month, lead and showing only the trip report of the Individual.670E42DA-843F-4BA3-A6DD-8C1743127D2F.jpeg.499a8b6400e007f83e44ccee3cecf5c7.jpeg

    just a small suggestion.

You can use the following website to determine if you are changing more than 2%:

    https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/

As you can see in below example, the overall diameter in this case remains the same:

    image.png.8a6fe9535d71ebb819df4031a0136ea2.png

So you can input the data of the tyres you have now, and see how much difference you'd get by changing rim and/or tyre type.

As in the attached file it goes beyond 2%. As you suggested already will fix wheel spacers. Some sites says already there might be 2-5% variation on speedometer and odometer from OEM. So if we add more to it, calibration of these are absolutely necessary or can manage with out that?181C638B-1341-473B-8C22-9C2F304C6C07.png.7bef25b26073b4e20f7b5ca2270c9fe5.png

Check during installation if there is any running while steering completely left or right. On Vanessa her Pajero we have put a 2inch spacer to have slightly wider center of gravity.

@FredericIncreasing overall tyre diameter by more than 2% of the stock ones need speedometer and odometer calibration to be done? What else to be considered?

I hope it was a beautiful post Birthday drive for Richard “Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old” and thats what @Wrangeld thought us today!! Belated Birthday Wishes Richard & thank you for an a awesome  lead and giving is opportunities to learn!

We covered all the way from Lisali to Qudra which was almost 50 km on sand which is really wonderful for a newbie drive. Everyone did well! Few refusals, a pop out & and a stuck without which we cannot conclude a fullon exercise!

@Wrangeld gave us more clarity on how to do the stuff right. We had to exit @jeetu sharma sharma for heating issues with the pajero and I hope you are good, ready for next adventure!

The first half of the convoy was struggling a bit initially and the rest was driving Fewbie Plus on a Newbie drive!

@Shehab Alawadhi it was good to see your drifting skills behind 😉

@Melenany Thank you for being an awesome sweep and keeping us posted with the updates!

Belated birthday wishes @Wrangeld, such a great dedication lesson to be learnt

You are all confirmed for the drive on Friday. What's the plan? We will start on a long track where I will give you a briefing as we make our way to the entry point to the Lisali dunes. There is another way, that involves crossing some treacherous technical dunes  - but we will not venture into those dunes this time round.

Once we hit the Lisali dunes, it's fun fun fun all the way. Big wide dunes, drops, descents, climbs, ridges - it's got it all, so be preapred for a quite fast pace and some challenges for your new newbie experience book.

Any questons, please let myself and @Nivin who is supporting, this drive know.

See you soon in the sand.

This week my little son will join me, he was upset as I left him behind last week!!!

    Hi All,

My name is Jeetu and I joined the club only last month. I am originally from India but have grown up in this lovely country UAE. I have seen its evolution over the past 30+ years from a point where Dubai World Trade Center was the tallest building (in Dubai)  to becoming this marvelous country with amazing man made wonders.

The desert was always a place that intrigued me but never got around to venture it. By joining Carnity I feel I have joined a fabulous community of people and I am going to enjoy and learn at the same time. Have done my Absolute newbie drive with @Srikumarand have to confess that it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had.

On a professional level I am a Marketer but on personal level still I am exploring the drives of life. Apart from the desert bug (alleged), I am also a drone enthusiast and look for opportunities to get that birds eye view of things.

    welcome @jeetu sharma

@Islam Soliman you correctly echoed my sentiments. I don't want to leave but feel I don't belong there. I have joined in @Carnity to get some relief from the stress of running a business when everything is falling apart. 8 years of hard work going down the drain. I know how I built this business with having only 200 AED in my pocket when I left my last job. This was the place where I could find some solace. Now I feel alienated. I even gave up boozing on Thursday evenings so that I can drive with you all on Fridays. Driving with you all and capturing those moments in my camera became my passion.

@Thomas Varghese you were one of the inspiration for me to take off road drives. its sad to see you are stressed for what ever reason. Just take a short break, chill for some time, forget the past and come back strong considering the fun of driving on the sand. Hope to see you back soon to be part of fun drive!!!

Thanks to everybody who supported me in my difficult times. Never knew I will be making friends at this age. Once upon a time when I was a teenager I had lot of friends. When the daily routine changed to working, running business, looking after family the friendship circle started to becoming smaller and smaller and finally it reached zero. I'm so happy that I have friends who I can call as friends. I could see the people who come for off roading come there as they take it as a hobby and want to spend some time away from the bustling world and want to be themselves.

See you all soon in the sands.

Sad note - I got a fine of 700 AED on 26th Feb at 1.07 pm at Al Dhaid. For sure I must have been speeding to reach the drive.😔

    Good decision.

Also @Lakshmi NarasimhanI see that you have RSVPed for this drive and also for another one this weekend. Please choose any 1 drive for now and you can put your name on the waitlist for a second drive. This would give other drivers a chance to rsvp for atleast 1 drive over the weekend. On Wednesday, if there are still spots available after everyone has got at least 1 drive, you can be added to the convoy for a second drive.

Hi @Emmanuel i have booked for both Friday and Saturday not  just only for sake of rsvp, I really wanted to join for both days. Still there are spots available on all newbie drives, if others are waiting for booking I will drop from one of the booking, you can count on me.

    Thanks

Before fixing the external fan, give tiptronic a try. Most have seen good results by driving in tiptronic instead of D mode. Try to toggle between second and first gear and keep it in the same gear as much as possible.

Less gear shifting = Less heat being generated.

15psi is fine but be aware that after about two hours of driving you’ll be at 17 most probably. So keep an eye on it and deflate back to 14-15 after a while.

I also had the same Problem on my new Pajero, I was advised by @Frederic to try Tiptronic and it worked for my last trip, need to see if that will work for peak summer, slowly I am getting used to tiptronic and habtoor also suggests not to drive on D for offroading.
