Well generally I'm not a big fan of sports including motorsports. I will occasionally watch some off roading action from something like the Dakar Rally, 8x8 truck trials or Scandinavian forumula offroad. But this relatively new, and something I think i can get into, started somewhere in 2013 and combines some really good ingredients from many other motorsports, It has some awesome Baja Trophy Trucks, love the suspension on those! They soak up jumps and bumps like no tomorrow, some spectacular jumps, some real skilled circuit racing driving skills and tension which are 100 time more difficult with such wobbly and high trucks, some dirt sections in some tracks and my favourite, some real spectacular jumps and nascar style crashes and even md air collisions! Have a peak And some crashes just for fun Once again love the suspension set up on these things, anything similar we can get locally, which wouldn't cost an arm and a leg? I would at least once want to set up a 4x4 with such suspension, I'm no great expert on suspensions but I'm thinking long travel shocks with fast compression and very slow rebound rates. Anyways what do you all think about stadium trophy trucks, cool or meh, just another useless thing.

The guy loves 2wheel drive mode. Because of that when he went over the top of the dune his front wheels just got stuck instead of pulling the car forward like in a 4wd mode.

Its absolutely true, until they can come up with an equivalent or better system that can replace the current one, these things are not going to take off. I would consider buying a EV if I don't have to worry of range and if I forget to charge I can just stop at a recharging station and be fully recharged and be on my way in 5 minutes and not having to worrying about charging atleast for the next 400kms or more. Also I shouldn't have to pay 3 to 4 times more for a reasonable EV and not have to worry about replacing the very costly battery in s few years time. Tesla is a novelty, I admit they make some cool vehicles but did you know they don't sell you any parts, you can't go into a parts shop and buy a window motor for example, either go to Tesla or get your car repaired only from Tesla approved shops and with parts waiting times up to two months, hence scrapped salvaged Teslas are selling at ridiculous prices as DIYers are gobbling them up. Bleak scenario all around Anyways I digress, but I feel its all interlinked and we are being force fed this EV crap just to keep up appearances to show something is being done and to keep the tree huggers at bay.

It's better to learn from other people mistakes by analyzing these offroad accidents or mistakes done by thousands of offroaders every year. This will be an educational tool with open discussions regarding mishaps in off-roading based on your own experience and off-road knowledge. As the season is just starting to sizzle and the summer seems to be setting in, but we are still blessed with cooler evenings and comfortable nights. We have already done so much, so how we can even better this experience? I hope that through this trip we are able to tickle everyone fancy. So it's going to be:- Desert dune bashing drive - CHECK Challenging mountain climb - CHECK BBQ, special food, shisha, drinks and laughter - CHECK Astro / Night photography - CHECK The plan is to meet everyone interested in the desert drive at the first Adnoc Petrol Station on Maliha Road, entering Khatam and do some awesome dunes to cross over on Fossil Rocks and reach Faya to play for some time. We will then head to the Tawi Khatimah Mountain where we will inflate to make our way to the mountain top where we can set up camp and relax with chat, food, drinks and shisha. Amazing photo opportunity awaits for all of us at night and to show off with our families and friends. @skumar83 and @Gaurav have got one part absolutely right. He was in 2WD and that was the main cause. Another cause could be the soft suspensions, as when the front of the Jeep hit the other side of the dune it was not engaged in 4x4 which put the complete load of the car in front, plus the soft suspension allowed the front bumper to dig into the sand. With the forward inertia the back of the Jeep kept moving which caused the flip. 90% though if he was in 4x4 it would not let the car flip. Winner is @skumar83 and @Gaurav. SUPERB observation @skumar83, this is exactly I feel that 75% cause of flip was 2WD and 25% being too fast for crossing the crest, and why he was fast is because of 2WD or else he will get stuck. @Rahimdad please reveal the truth now if we are right or not?

A car could be driven through a steam turbine very easily, but the problem with nuclear energy as a heat source is that there is no way to dispose of spent nuclear fuel safely, unless it is removed from the earth's surface. Maybe Elon Musk should top wasting time, money and energy building cars that can catch fire at any moment, and focus on ways to shoot small, spent nuclear reactors into the Sun.

I started following stadium trucks a while ago. Always like to see something different. The suspension is amazing. The amount of body roll they achieve when cornering and how they cock a wheel up and still don’t roll.

I like how @treks pointed that the big businesses still supporting the fossil fuel and will be a bottle nexk in the future for early adopter. In UK all charging points are paid to us e and home charging point isn't fast charging so people bound to pay one way or ther other. I also respect Elon Musk vision of how setting things in past and launch the EV with own Tesla charging point and that's what is needed for every manufacturer who plan to rol EV in future to support that inventory for fast charging on strrets or else it will be waste. And after all whatever Tesla did, still company is in great losses and burning money at greater pace than ever even when Tesla is so highly priced. It's a clear example that one man cannot bring the change that whole scoietyu and nations want to enjoy and we all need to act as a committed plan.

Governments will always find a way to make up for shortfalls in tax revenues- it's what governments do, and they are very good at it. I agree with the experts who say that we are not ready for alternatives to fossil fuels. It's like Gaurav says, we need to replace an entire industrial ecosystem, and if we are to believe that some European cars plan to stop the sale of conventional cars in a couple of decades, they'd better get a move on in establishing the alternative parts suppliers, training technicians, building power stations, and building distribution networks for electricity to charge millions of cars. As far as I can see, none of this will be in place for at least the next several decades anywhere in the world. The internal combustion engine will be with us for a long, long time to come, simply because we have no viable alternatives.

We are ready for new technology. The problem is the worlds governments aren’t ready for it. They will lose their income. How do you put a tax on the wind, the sun, the rain, without people rebelling under the pretence of social liberty and human rights? Also to add, he’s right nobody has any training. No offence meant to bengalis and iranis but they just land here and hope they can learn in the job, breaking customers cars in the process I will always be the first to admit I have no formal training, most of what I know, I taught myself by reading. These guys coming into the country and working on cars have no interest in reading. They just want money. Another point, the majority of mechanics in UAE aren’t petrolheads. They couldn’t give a shit about cars. It’s just a job. This is what sets mechanics like me apart. I am genuinely interested in cars, I have built many fast cars and I always want to further my knowledge.

Musafah is the area in Abu Dhabi that has a lot of automotive shops and workshops if you are new in AD. Make a visit to a couple of workshops and see whose most competent and reasonable for your need. Btw, what is the issue at hand? If it's the only service then anyone can do it and you don't need to visit specialize workshop for Jeep, as far as you are following the owner manual schedule and specs for lube.

Very true. In the European market, cars like the mustang or huge pickups like the f150 just don't make sense. The roads are too small and too policed. The fiesta, focus, and mondeo are bread and butter for them here.

It was indeed a wonderful drive and literally breathtaking for all of us to have Range Rover in the convoy. All the pun intended. To be honest Bilal, you have managed very well as a newbie and it doesn't really look like as if it was your first attempt in the sand. We have seen many newbies breaking the bumpers even after all the briefing and guidance, so keep it up. Hope, driveshaft mounting isn't a big deal issue...?

Hi there As you will be connecting 4 speakers to a 2 channel, the Amp will run in 2ohm. According to the specs of the Amp it is giving 4x95 watts nominal at that impedance. It's difficult to say exactly how much the amp will be able to deliver exactly. That's not so important anyway because your front speakers are 60watts rms only. The best to do is set the amp to its minimum sensitivity while testing, then put the volume to around 80% on the head unit, and than slowly increase the sensitivity on your Amp until your front speakers are starting to distort. The reduce again a little bit. There is no need to match the 2ohm on the speakers with the subwoofer on the other channel.

I know from where you are coming and thinking, but this point of discussion was not only for govt buddy. It's for an entire automotive ecosystem where we all are living in and ends at where Glenn pointed to the adequate training. You don't need govt support for making and selling EV parts and tools, supply chain or joining the technical institutes for training and development.
