Thanks for the video @Mohamed Seidam. Just wandering if, in the time it took to tie the rope around the tire and secure it to the car, some good old shoveling would have also done the trick. After all it was a short wheel base car, and on the first stuck, with a front-heavy position, digging a V under the front may have freed the chassis enough for the car to self recover, just as quickly. Then, of course, each driver grows up in different off-roading cultures, and I've found that what is drilled into you is what you end up resorting to, all the time. I have driven once with an acquaintance who had been taught in his club to winch cars out, and who had never used a kinetick tow rope!! Yet winching suited him just fine. So, while I may prefer shovelling (always my first resort) it's good to see these videos, from different off-roaders, to learn thinking outside our box, and learn new tricks. Now, I would still prefer shovelling, but will keep this in mind, in the need arises. Thanks!!

Myself and rizwan will be assisting in recovery if any. Shovel, radio with channels preset and safety flag is a must to drive. I dont carry spare radios with me. We will use Channel 4 (446.08125) for radio coms. Please arrive in time so that we can start as scheduled at 6 30 am

@Shehab Alawadhi no need for you to remind me of spending 4 hours with you and @Arman. I do believe that after all these years what makes a trip worth for me is the people on the trip and I like nothing more than a banter and the spirit both of you bring on the drives. But I can see the energy flow through the forum too and loving every bit of it. Continue with your drama, I will not interfere, just enjoy the show with some pop-corn sitting on my comfy sofa.

Ahahaha @Ahab Shamaa you are such a joy! I heard Santa only drives Japanese cars so there's no chance of him getting stuck in the desert as he makes his way to us with the vaccine. Although I spotted a couple of reindeers masquerading as gazelles yesterday. so I think the fat man in the red suit might be closer than we think O You are being too hard on yourself and it was nowhere near 10. With your PI at 18 those soft dunes were always going to be an issue. We sometimes forget about tyre pressure with the myriad of other things we are constantly checking as we drive. However, it is so important , as you discovered yesterday. Even in these cool winter months our tyre pressure creeps up. I'm delighted you still enjoyed the drive and it was a great learning experience for you.

Just to clarify - since they were speaking in Arabic in the video - the guy mentioned that this was instructional video meant to teach the technique. I always find it interesting to learn the "Bedouin" ways of dealing with situations in the desert .

I absolutely loved our “in reverse” drive! And what I really loved the most, is all the lovely people I got to be acquainted with on the drive. I cannot wait till we’re rid of the Corona virus, and are able to socialize more on these drives. Imagine how much more memorable and enjoyable our experiences would be. In any event, no one despair please; I got it on good authority that I’m on Santa’s good list this year. As such, I’ve asked Santa for a Covid vaccine this year 🤣 So the solution is underway fellow drivers, and Santa’s game is afoot as he and his elves prepare the concoction in their north pole workshop😀 If you’re interested in sharing my gift, please don’t be late, line up at my gate, and don’t forget to deflate 🤣 @Foxtrot Oscar thanks for such a lovely track and for your endless positive energy. You’re a credit to Carnity and to your fellow drivers. Also thanks for entrusting me with second lead. It’s a big responsibility, but I loved it and I learned a lot from it. @Rahimdad see us as cousins we are a different type, we love banter and lavish performances. If you were to spend 24 hours with @Arman and I either you will have gone crazy, or you wont be able to breathe from laughter. That's the type of cousins we are, we crack jokes and mess around and most certainly don't act our age, but when seriousness is required then we can be the most serious of a people.

Hi @rajeev chaubeychaubey just checked with our resident JGC expert. He said once you put it into sand mode, and if we take out the airbag fuse, you're good to go.

Hi Rajeev Don't drop out. We have JGC drivers in the club and will have a solution for you before the drive. Our concern is just to make sure that we can enable you to drive and have fun.

Good morning friends @Probir Mukherjee @Lucky sAm @Gaurav Soni and @Rizwanm2. We will have a short convoy which equates to more time to have fun, drive more and spend less time in refusals or stucks (hopefully). Watch out for the convoy numbering and radio details later. Get yourself and your vehicles prepped .

Thanks @Foxtrot Oscar and the rest of the convoy members for your patience due to my constant refusals. I lost count. I probably had at least 10!!! Even my son asked me why I am struggling so much today. However, after getting some really useful tips from @Brette (many thanks!) and upon deflating further, it is as if I have 4 new wheels and it was really enjoyable. Also special shout out to @Gaurav Soni for holding position whilst waiting for me to clear my refusals. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable drive for me notwithstanding the challenges. The winter weather and mixture of terrain was great!

@Brette can you please advise what is bare minimum essential for AN drive for JGC?

Good drive today! 40KM+ travelled. Only a handful refusals and one cresting! Credit to @Foxtrot Oscar for leading. She’s no bad sometimes...!

@Danish Mohammad welcome, I will take care to make this drive as family friendly as possible. With the weather getting better it a wonderful time to bond with the family in the wilderness of the desert.

@Thomas Varghese you will have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop towards the sweep position. For this drive I want to keep you close to me and would love to learn and pick up things from you.

@sertac I have joined an intermediate drive on Saturday already but could join your drive as well. Pls add me on the waitlist for second drive in case there is slot available by wednesday.

Dears seems won't be able to join this trip. Have some plans over Christmas Eve would make it tough to join early morning on 25th. Hoping to see some of you during the drive on 26th.

That is true in performance equivalent . However I am really not quite sure if it has central locking mechanism !

alright sweet, thx I was wondering where the airbag fuse is. Yea for sure, I wasn't planning on doing anything as of yet, the car runs beautifully with traction control off and ESC off, I was just wondering if a kill switch would be worth it. On my second AD drive after I learned about the magic of holding the traction control button I was drifting beautifully between dunes, you know the types of drifting where sand is flying in your car and above your head.

And don’t thank me, actually I also didn’t want my beloved Jawaher (that’s my car’s name) to kiss your car 😘
