It was indeed a fantastic day out with all big boys who were seasoned enough and fully ready to taste the adventures of leading in the desert. At no point, I genuinely felt that it was there absolute first lead and everyone demonstrated different flavor of leading. Started with @Lorenzo Candelpergher I was little concerned with the heavy beast, but the way Lorenzo handled was truly amazing and surprising to find beautiful path by pushing all boundaries with that beast. Having front and rear bash plate for Y62 is very valued add-on that I closely observed today and appreciated it a lot. Lorenzo's adventurous spirit with very sensible and calculative approach made his first lead like a walk in the park oops Maliha Jungle. Followed by @Luca Palanca Falsini with his very capable fortuner (which he dont think so) sets the stage and within first 10 minutes I realize what Lorenzo used to mention about Luca experience in advisor group, before his promotion. Luca seriously have great off-road experience that truly reflected in today's lead with immense creativity and full of confidence. At times I was feeling little unsure if he can make it through certain angles and dune attack but he proved it right every time. Last but not least @Janarthan steal the show with his very calculative and conservative approach but yet found an amazing virgin dunes to ridge ride and impressed everyone. His way of choosing path reminded me of @Rahimdad lead where he will circle left and right and you will wonder why and few seconds later you will be on top of best clean dune to enjoy the stretch. Keep it up everyone, and most importantly keep this same confidence up always, no matter what.

TRIP REPORT Early mornings in January can be quite chilly and with a strong wind blowing, it felt like the temperature was in the single digits. Everyone made it to the meeting point on time and with a quick briefing at the break of dawn we were off into the deserts of Shuwaib. This area is less traversed by other offroaders and hence we were greeted to a lot of clean dunes but with an extreme amount of vegetation. With a good convoy of FB+, I was quite eager to push the level and give everyone a challenging drive. As we dodged our way through the forests of Shuwaib we had our first stuck of the morning where Probir's front bumper was dug in the sand. With some good team work, a bit of shoveling and tugging by Anand we were able to change the direction of the car and get him out of what initially seemed like a nasty stuck. As we reached more cleaner (less vegetation) dunes we started criss crossing, ridge riding, long hill climbs and everyone did exceptionally well. We of course had our fair share of refusals and that is to be expected in such a terrain. But all the refusals and stucks brought out the entire team with their shovels and helping hands. As we were getting closer to Super bowl, the wind had picked up its pace and it was getting extremely dusty with poor visibility of the dunes and ridges upfront. Nevertheless the entire convoy pushed through and made it along to super bowl. Surprisingly, there was lesser than expected crowd at Super Bowl. Despite that, we decided that it would be better to spend less time at Super Bowl and more on the dunes to IFB. Just as we were moving out of that area, we met a group of Kabayan offroaders who had a Pajero stuck in a pocket with a double popout. They reached out to us, asking if we had a jack and a board. While helping to fix their popouts, unfortunately @Anvar Sadath Bekal got caught in a pocket. Though he had room to maneuver his car the exit point was blocked by the Kabayan group's Pajero that had the double pop out. After fixing the first pop out, while we were helping fix the second tyre, another convoy started driving close to where we were standing and one of their Newbie drivers had a refusal close to Anvar's car. Despite our clear instructions to not move from that position, he messed up the entire area and slid to a feet from Anvar's car. Probably his ego got the better of him, but he created a situation that became quite difficult to move either car without banging into the other. After fixing the Kabayan group's second tyre, we attended to this 2 car stuck situation by trying to change the angle of Anvar's car with slow tugs. Though we made some progress it was a tedious task with a lot of soft sand around. Around the same time this other group managed to get a car with a winch which helped accelerate the recovery process. The fact that both the cars left from the spot with no scratch is credit to our entire team who despite some heavy sand blowing, stood there and helped maneuver each car inch by inch. All participants brought the team spirit of Carnity which was fantastic to witness. It was also a good gesture from the Kabayan offroaders to stay back till we all left from that place. Few important lessons from the drive for everyone : 1. If you see a car that is not moving, never get too close to it especially on a side slope. There is a high possibility that you would slide into the stationary car. Its better to exit out if the cars in front are struggling or stuck. 2. Never ever bring ego into offroading, as that will only worsen the situation. Always keep calm and try to resolve the problem at hand. Big shout out to all the drivers and their passengers for assisting and participating in some very difficult situations. When the going got tough, the tough get going and this was amply demonstrated by everyone who participated yesterday. Special mention of thanks to @Jeepie for supporting the drive and helping out all the drivers during their refusals and stucks. Also, congratulation to @Anand Nataraj who helped in the recoveries. A wonderful class on Off-roading by Prof Ale. It truly had it all - a beautiful desc to curriculum, tough start to provide reality check, regular surprise tests, continuous assessments/feedback and as is mostly the case with all beautiful journeys - they end before one expects - for that we need to thank the security guys from China State Grid Co...😝😝 Reminded me of my college days - being a backbencher (car no 12) and enjoying every bit of Prof's wrath on frontliners - poor Joe and Mike..😃😃 Funny side apart, Thanks Ale for really good session and especially for all your efforts to ensure that we not only cross the challenges that track offered (and it offered a lot) but learn the real basics. Dear @Gaurav, thanks for today's Leaders Lead Drive. Taking the lead for the 1st time for real (and not just for 5 mins on a BBQ drive) was really a new and great experience. I always said I loved the freedom you feel while you drive in the desert, but nothing I had experienced until now compares to the sense of freedom while being in the lead. I really loved it. I also realized how different leading styles can be. It is something we always say, but when actually given the chance to lead and be led on the same terrain you really see the difference: I myself today was all about endless ridge riding and criss crossing, even if going very high, @Luca Palanca Falsini clearly loved the adventure to go for long and straight climbs up to the unknown on the other side, whereas @Janarthan was constantly exploring the unbeaten path across virgin dunes (and bushes, gaining the nickname "the bushbuster".. 😂😂). Looking forward to the next one...

It was such a wonderful drive. A very good experience combined with beautiful sceneries and wild life of UAE. Special thanks for @Ale Vallecchi and @Jeepie for supporting us for this nice experience. @Ale Vallecchi @Jeepie I really enjoy your ‘exploration’ drives - unpredictable and always full of challenges and never disappointed by the views and experience! I may have missed the fewbie events on Friday but this drive really felt like a fewbie experience ... a little cross crossing, a little ridge riding, a lot of technical, lots learnt and fun had! Appreciate how much effort you put in to teach @Ale Vallecchi ... tough love it felt like when you demand we leave our cars and inspect the tracks we did take vs should have! ... felt like 1:1 coaching for all which was a real privilege (thanks for taking that much care and effort) @Jeepie you always bring such a calm and confidence to every drive (thankyou) and if @Wrangeld didn’t pinch your soft shackles I suspect a little easier recoveries also Thanks all in the convoy, was another great group !! have added a sped up video of the ‘beast raptor’ self recovering and a few pics of the drive. Another amazing drive with Dr. Chaitanya @Chaitanya D it was a quite cool morning that I had to keep the car heater on. Every one arrived on time and after all is done our lead took us in a trip that I would say so amazing. We crossed technical areas, we did long ridge riding ( the longest I did so far ) and I felt I am sailing a boat not driving a car ⛵️( another function of the bash plate ) , crisscross and eventually I managed to stuck my self side ways on the ridge ( lesson learned always keep enough distance from the front vehicle ). Thank you @Kailas for the gentle tug! moving on smoothly and just before we intended to do the last part before entering Qudra we had to exit @Alexander Alcala to the tarmac ending at solar park due to some issue in his vehicle I hope will get sorted soon. generally I loved and enjoyed the drive to maximum not only because of the diversity of the terrain but because I have done it with friends full of passion and well to participate and enjoy and care for one each other. Yesterday's morning was a cold one, with 14 degrees outside, all drivers assembled at the meeting point time, full of energy and passion. Being a Fewbie + drive, it was fast paced and involved a lot of technical dunes, which all the drivers managed to conquer without breaking a sweat. We also did a couple of hill climbs which made our engine roars to be heard from miles away. Through the drive we stopped and helped 2 different convoys who faced pop outs, and of course we had to deal with a Newbie (who thought that having a powerful car would make him an expert) who dragged us all into a tricky situation. But through team work, we managed to pull ourselves out of it. @Srikumar Thanks for leading a great, thrilling drive and for the tyre pressure tip, that was magical. @Jeepie @Anand Nataraj You guys did a great job in keeping the convoy moving and helping other drivers out of trouble. Well Done.

Such a windy and chilly day and I felt like very bit of it in my open Jeep. First time I had a thought that that roof would’ve been a good idea as my car was drenched with sand, but it got throughly cleaned today. Looking forward to many more drives in this area. It was quite a technical sector and I had a lot of fun and it was a great learning experience. A big shout out to @Srikumar, @Jeepie and @Anand Nataraj for guiding the convoy.

Hi @Frederic! Thanks for starting the club! As you know, from time to time I take some photos. I believe that there two important component of almost every good photo: preparation and luck! If it is supported by some nice equipment, it's even better! Sometimes it takes a lot of time to prepare to be in a right place at the right time. For me it might take around a week of research to make a decision to go to the fields trying to capture something like meteor shower, milky way or a nice sunset in the mountains. Sometimes I even request some leave days a year in advance just to be sure that I have enough free time for some event. Then, once everything is ready, I just commit to the plan. And hope, that plan is good and weather would be nice enough to turn the plan into a picture. Honestly, my plans were never perfect. All the time something went not in a way I expect. But! This is the time when luck might be very handy! Sometimes you do not expect much but reality exceeds the expectations! In such moments you can just say "Woooooow" and not more than that. One more important thing. Very important for me. I keep remind myself not to see the world through the camera but to see it with my wide open eyes. It is much better!

@Chaitanya D great lead and wonderful enthusiasm drive, you manged the ride by scaling from easy to moderate as the convoy moves ahead, you didn't spare an effort to come back whenever needed to help and support drivers, going through Margham desert with beautiful sights seeing was amazing, am used for your fewbie drive but was amazed how you managed this newbie one @Anish SS as always, you managed center forward position in professionalism of leaders you know perfectly how to help and support drivers to maintain safety @AlexPolour first ride together, you made it perfectly for 2nd lead position I was worried when I saw @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader and @Thomas Varghese stuck near to each other that's why I announced on the radio and asked them to stay on standby without movement even I know it can be managed but the cars where very near to each other with families inside that's why I didn't want to risk and asked for @Anish Ssupport, as we learned in carnity ALWAYS SAFETY First, it was managed perfectly and safely Wishing I was able to be good sweep to the convoy making sure all cars moving well, sorry for the radio interference and am wishing it was managed well Over all I really liked the drive and looking forward for Afternoon fewbie drive next weekend

Trip report. Today was a smooth drive. We didn`t had any major stuck or any technical issue. We needed to use the rope only 2 times. Thanks to @Mehmet Volga and @Arda Yagcioglu those situations handled well. Path between start point to Fossil rock was bit bushy. OMG this desert became a forest now. Once we reached to the Fossil Rock it was the sunrise. We had beautiful pictures and nice view to watch. After 5 min of break at Fossil Rock we start moving again. Sand formation on the Fossil Rock wouldn`t let us pass to the other side. Actually there was no sand at all, so we went around that. We start heading to the Bowl before the Faya. Man that was fun, everyone pushed their cars to the limit. While we were at the bowl @Jose Martin`s radio battery start alarming for charge. In this point we replaced the sweep position between Jose and Arda. With our new sweep we start heading to the famous Faya. We had some nice rolling dunes and finally we reached to Faya. There we met with @Vanessa8580, @Nivin and rest of their convoy. We were lucky that Vanessa was having spare radio and we landed it to Jose. Everyone made their attempted to the climb. I was impressed with everyone`s climb. After Faya we start heading to 2nd December area. On the way we noticed that Mehmet`s flag was missing. EVen he went back to find it but he wasn`t lucky. Since he lost his flag we made another change on the convoy. Now Arda became CF and Mehmet took the Sweep position. On our wasy we came across with huge camel group. One of the camel get too close to us to get some petting We had nice pictures and moment to remember. After that we had some sideys and left the area safely. I have taken out my Y62 Nissan Patrol (with platinum bumpers) out for a Masterclass and an absolute newbie drive. Both times I have damaged the bumper and I want to change to a better off road bumper. Has anyone modified their Patrol bumper and where do you recommend I can get this done?

Thank you @Gaurav and @Lorenzo Candelpergher for your feedback, I was noticing the same especially during the @Janarthan drive, I was always trying to wonder which path we were going to take and few times came out that we chose the same 😊. As @Gaurav sed today, from a to b we cannot go straight in the desert. That is really true! And all the hundreds possible path are right (if doable 🤪) Was also very interesting our briefing. I tried to apply the rule… Enjoy!... And worked! 😁😁😁😁 I was feeling way more relaxed and confident! Trip Report: At the outset I would like to thank every one ( @AlexPol, @rajeshkumar rathod, @Danish Mohammad, @frederic demolder, @Anish S, @Dodi Syahdar, @Thomas Varghese, @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader and @Mahmoud Hamzawy).You all will be etched in my memory for being members of my first newbie lead with Carnity(independent). It was indeed a pleasant experience , though I had some butterflies at the beginning as I have regularly done fast paced drives more often than not with more experienced drivers. I was up for the challenge and how you all drove made my job simpler and easier though. I will slightly differ in my trip reports emphasizing more on what we learnt , as this is what is important at this level so that you learn and improvise to get to next level. Situation 1 - Stuck in a soft pocket One car got stuck in a soft pocket, apparently due to a refusal and when reversed. I would like to advised you all to follow the car in front of you and repeat the same path , approach and gas .While reversing out of refusals please make sure you don't reverse into pockets, if difficult in rear mirrors you can get out of our cars and assess the situation. Situation 2 - Side stuck on a slope Again when you are doing side sloping try to get the right approach and momentum. When losing momentum safest is to exit with gravity. This stuck is very crooked in a way because when you are on slip side you can build sand walls on the wheels towards the slope and ending in a nasty situation. Best is to shovel, clear the sand building on the side of tires, make channels in front or back for the car to use gravity and exit out. Yesterday the car was back heavy and we shovelled on the sides and made channels on rear wheels which got the car out easily. Situation 3 - Safe distance Always keep safe distance from the car in front of you. in tight technical dunes one has to keep a closer watch on the track as you might lose sight of the car in front. Well I hope I have given some information for you all to keep in mind , so that you all come prepared in a better way next time for the next challenge. All in all you all did wonderfully well even for some very new drivers like @rajeshkumar rathod. @AlexPol was wonderful as 2nd lead in his off-road supeready wrangler, @Anish S was as usual fantastic as center forward. I would like to congratulate you for your recent promotion to advance, definitely look forward for your leads. @Mahmoud Hamzawy was sweeping perfectly, Shukran Habibi. If anyone has completed required number of drives please apply for your promotion to next level, but remember it gets more involving and we appreciate you to learn and help others learn too as you progress. DRIVE REPORT These winter mornings are lovely, but rather chilly this morning with the very strong wind that lasted throughout the day. I was blessed with a very strong convoy and hence I was looking to bump up the level a bit and everyone managed themselves very well Did we have shoveling ? Yes ! Did we had stuck and refusals, Yes ! Have we learned something today ? Oh Yes definitely ! Good work guys ! @Jasim Khumi brought his wonderful short wheel base Pajero to the drive, and you did great today ! No offroad drive without a Patrol team, and @Pranjal Varsani and @Humayun Ghias both drove their big beasts like they stole it, without restraint and perfect momentum.
