Hi Gaurav, Thanks for reply. Yes, the lift kit ordered is 6 inch, but since no stock was available, the car is temporarily fitted with 4" lift kit. I raised the same concern about center of gravity, but I was advised that it is safe because the tires are much wider and projecting outwards hence balancing the height. However , will definitely take good care as you advised. Yes , the spare tire is also same size. Winch, Radio, towing hooks, flag, Pump etc are all available. Thanks !

Hi @Gaurav Bhai, I have X Terra 2010, tomorrow i will install Skid Plate with radiator brackets 10mm. Ground clearance is as required level. I have Radio / Walkie Talkie. further i will get flag and Air Compressor. I have done few drives 5 months back In Kalahari Desert - Botswana even some part of jungle and a rocky mountains. keen to learn more technical way to drive in desert. Participated in few desert drives with Carnity in 2019. (Not as a driver)

@Zed that area belongs to Royal Family and after seeing the Arabic signposts with stern warnings it has been labeled as no-go area for Carnity drives. So keep your memories from the last time we were there and save them for maximum nostalgia 😄

Hi @Vinod Damodaran welcome to carnity and thanks for your introduction. Good to hear that you have previous off-road experience, but my concern seems to be with your Rubicon having 40 Inch tires. To install 40 Inch tires (if it's really correct) you must have added a huge lift too (6-10 Inches) and deviated far from the original center of gravity. Such extreme lift and tires are meant for rock crawling at a very slow and controlled pace. Driving on the sand, even at this absolute newbie drive, you have a huge risk to roll over with such a higher center of gravity unless you be super careful at all dunes and at all times. Hope you understand my concern and accept my advice positively. I also hope you have the same size of the spare tire too as part of your upgrade package.

Hi @udit you can find some details on link below for deflator/guage and inflators.. ... Reg. Inflators can't recall that i ever found the gas station one close to exit point working or idle (if at all working)....so don't rely on that. In below link you will find some cheap option for inflator as well - though personally don't recommend them however just in case you want to try for couple of drive. @Shahzad Akbani fyr

Yes I do 4) Does your vehicle have a minimum of 8 inches of ground clearance at front and rear bumper? Yes the clearance is more than 8 inches I don't have tyre pressure gauge or deflator. Can you please recommend any which i can go and buy or order online. Thanks in advance. Looking forward for my first drive on Sunday.

Haha so last time we had excuses; 1) didn't bring an Arabic translator with us; 2) was looking for some materials like barb wires since someone's exhaust pipes were touching the sand 😂

Off-road Gears Needed For your very first drive with us, we would like to ask you to bring a tire pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. (the one near the gas station is usually not working). The next tools you will be needing from second drive onwards, are a walkie-talkie, offroad flag, and a decent shovel. If by any chance you have these tools already you are of course welcome to bring them along on your first drive. @Eli Zandro Hamoy @Kishore Venkat @Sivakumar Please specify if your Patrol is Y61 (Safari or super safari) OR Y62? If its Y62, please specify you do have a minimum of 8 Inches of ground clearance under front and rear bumper and not having any Nismo or other body kit under the bumper.

Hi Gaurav, I’m glad to join Carnity club. Car is new 2021 Jeep Rubicon modified by Jeepers with 40 inch tyres. All necessary offroad kit fitted. Done quite a few drives earlier with Lx570. Recently went for 2 beginners drive ( with Jeep )with Dubai Offroaders. See you all on 16th morning !

One more thing to be aware of these imported vehicles ( non GCC ) be aware and check it properly as I heard many of those are post flood or damage “resurrection “ . And sometimes it’s quite hard to know unless you totally trust the source

Great machine, and it's the best selling mid size truck in the states. But still go test drive Tacoma, because it's using the 3.5 engine, torque comes much later than the popular 4.0 engine. You will feel like driving a turbo car, not much torque untill you kinda push the rpm higher. I wouldn't like it in sand. But fuel economy is better than 4.0 On the other hand it's sibling 4 runner is more popular here, it's equipped with the 4.0 engine that's has wider torque band, and it's basically a LWB FJC made in US, with Atrac rear locker crawl control Tundra is a different story, tundra is indeed bigger wider more comfortable and has more powerful v8 engines, but lacks of offroad gears, it has only ABS simulated LSD or eLSD, and on Tacoma 4runner you can find rear locker Atrac crawl control stuffs that are more professional for offroading I personally would choose a 4runner if ever one day I'm giving up on the Pathfinder. BTW, Both cars I believe are compatible with the Prado and FJC offroad mods here.

Just like the 4Runner, these are US market vehicles and can only get here in UAE if you decide to import them. They are indeed very capable offroaders. The 4Runner is basically the US version of the Fortuner. I would not compare it with the Tundra, as they are smaller and lighter than the Tundra (which is a good thing in the dunes in my opinion). Going for Import brings some extra work and costs but it can be done. But be aware you will only get 3rd party insurance if the car is a US import (at least that's what i've heard).

Thank you @Gregory for the info. Yes, I also saw that pond this Sunday in our Fwb+ drive. If still there, we can go around it and meet at the point just before the fence gate. Hi, for what it helps, this is what I did in my Y61: replaced the stock fog lights with Baja Design Squadron Pro Round, with amber lenses to help cut through dust and fog (https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-r-pro-led-wide-cornering-amber.asp), and I replaced the headlight bulbs with LED lights. This set up so far provides a good light source whilst driving. I had four X-Vision flood lights mounted in the bumper, but have now removed them as I suspect they were blocking airflow into the cooling systems. Two of those X-Vision were relocated as cornering lights, but I feel amber lights will work better. In future I plan to have installed STP heat shield, which I understand doubles as sound proofing. *** Edit: just added two pictures so you can see the lights. The four smaller white lights in the bumper were removed for the same reason @Gaurav mentioned in his comment.
