Another wonderful drive with amazing team. All arrived ahead of time, and was ready on time. Quick briefing, and started the fun. Started warming and testing, and apparently some was think this was the drive….. no habibi… coming to badayer you need to be ready to more 😉. Upon feeling all were ready, we started our climbs, which I am not sure I can remember which was good or bad, and which one we could not make. Except the ones were we found other convoys on top, and decided to avoid and back down to reroute. @Simon Dawood being SL and first FB+ drive, you was excellent in both. No comments, but congratulations enjoying the new level. @Daniel Rodas glad to see you again in sand in FB+ . @Joji varghese @Tom B @topgear @Vaibhav @Waqas Parvez amazing as usual, controlling and coping with the challenges. @darren thompson pleasure to see you again after long time, and thank you for being our SW today, giving all the good news that all good and moving. hello guys. It was a pleasure to have each one of you on board and thanks for an absolute stunning drive. You all were soo amazing today making it a memorable and colourful drive. We started at 7.15, and my apologies for being late for few minutes. The convoy was ready at the meeting point when i arrived and after deflating my car, @marks announced the convoy order and we started the show with a side slope. Surprisingly today we didnt come across many cross tracks and the drive went on smooth with out any stucks. We did not use any recovery gears today except to assist the tourist car which was towards the conclusion of the first part.There were a couple refusals that were self-corrected. We got to try most of the large dunes in the region today, and everyone performed fantastic. I hope you all had as much fun driving as I did. It was great to see another Carnity convoy led by @Hisham Masaad and @Brette, as well as familiar faces like @Vaibhav @Waqas Parvez, and others. A tourist car became trapped towards the end of the trail at area 53, and they requested rescue help. Myself and @marks attempted to pull the car out, and it took us about 20 minutes to rescue the tourist vehicle. @Gok Krish and @Amir Amiri departed the drive at area 53 at the end of the first part of the dive, and the convoy continued to move further ahead through big red and pink rock area. Our actual intention was to make it to Nazwa all the way.. but then it was 10.45 already and we decided to end the drive at 2nd december street attempting a few more play spots in the area. @Ranjan Dasthank you for a terrific and vigilant 2nd lead today. Most of the time i didnt have to announce it on the radio for any hazards or for rerouting...you did it as and when needed. It seems our chemistry work well now a days. @Naveen Raj... man you were superb today with your pajero and what a performance buddy...👏👏👏 You are in compleat sync with your car and didnt even see any sign of difficulty. well done bro @Daniel Yang. did outstanding job dude.. I dont think this terrain could post any challenges to you or your Y61 today . good job buddy. @Chris Wing.. the FJ boy.. great man. It was nice to see your performances through out the drive and handled ur FJ to perfection. Keep it up buddy. @Anoop Nair.. excellent work buddy. Did have a few refusals which is mostly unavoidable for the cars at the back of the convoy in such demanding terrains. i believe you had a good day today. 👍👍 @Humayun Ghias. it was a pleasure meeting you and driving with you for the first time. You did great with your Y62, and was nice to see you conquering dunes with raw power and precised maneuvering. well done @Gok Krish.excellent work friend. Great drive today! Thanks @Gaurav for leading us all (and my parents!) through the dunes. Thanks to @Melenany for support and @Gregory for fantastic job as SL. Towards the back of the convoy everyone was driving well with only minor refusals as the drivers were learning to balance the exact amount of gas needed to maintain momentum through to soft and churned sand. Always a pleasure to be the convoy sweep. See you all soon in the sand.

Dear Desertnauts. @Deepak 11, @Murtaza Bhuria, @Mahmoud Taha, @Ahmad Mehwi, @YJS, @Yerem Davtyan, @Br. San, @Murad Hamed, @eldose baby, @Sree - Fortuner, @arjumand, @Yaseen87. Get ready for a challenging drive, where concentration, decisiveness and patience will be required. The terrain is a mix of red and yellow sand, with a mix of technical (tighter, closer, more irregularly shaped) dunes, and some long range dunes (more open between cordons, and taller), especially toward the end of the drive. Vegetation will be present throughout the drive, demanding a choice of track that minimizes its presence. While driving it will be important to always use the proper momentum (that is the moving force given by the product of the car's weight x its acceleration) to be able to keep the lines that we'll be taking around the dunes, or crossing the ridges. We will stop early in the drive for a more detailed technical briefing. Our goal is to reach Faqa's northern boundary, driving through the desert parallel to E66, better known as the Dubai-Al Ain Road. We'll carve our own highway through the dunes!! Please reach the meeting point, just opposite Murqaab's mosque, early enough so that we may start as close to 7AM as possible. Please line up on the shoulder on either sides of the road, and mind that locals' cars will be driving through. As soon as you reach the meeting point you may start deflating, somewhere between 12 and 15, based on the weight of your car (may be a bit more inflated on heavier cars), and the type of tires you are mounting (a bit more inflated on tires with low walls). We'll be communicating on Carnity Channel 1 (446.006). The convoy order will be given tomorrow morning by myself and @Niki Looking forward to seeing you, I wish you a nice Saturday.

Rush Hour / 7-Eleven - Two drives against time and space - Report Time is a brisk wind, for each hour it brings something new.” – Paracelsus Dear Desertnauts considering that both these last 2 drives of mine had a similar theme, which unfolded as a challenge through time and space, I'll describe both of them together. Both drives had goals to reach, in terms of maximum time driven, and space to be covered: the first was a 2 hour, late PM drive, while the second was a 4 hour, AM drive, which allowed a greater length and duration. The spirit of both drives was the same: racing against time, and covering as much ground as possible. The skills required were about the same: concentration, perfect execution, making split-second decisions, endurance. Both proved to be fun, interesting, and challenging. The first drive, nicknamed Rush Hour because of its late starting time in the afternoon, diverged from the second not only because of its length, but also for the terrain chosen: more open, less technical, with the possibility of driving fast almost throughout the whole itinerary. We went from Solar Park, through the fastest, less vegetated, stretch of the so called "Middle Earth", to Little Sweihan, and after a few ups, downs and across this area of taller, sharper dunes (the "slowest of the terrains"), we moved on to Faqa's long range dunes. The execution was perfect, with non stop driving, and only one refusal throughout the track. We achieved all the objectives of the drive: we covered 60 Km well before the clock ran out on us, driving 65.1 Km in the scheduled 2 hours, with only a 1 minute break, and a pace of 33Km/h. We stopped the chronometer at the edge of Faqa's sabkha, where we exited with an extra 15 minutes of calm, leisurely, sunset drive. Perfect Second Lead by @Sunil Mathew, virtually inactive Center Forward and Sweep roles, which saw @Looper and @JeromeFJ taking turns, and an immaculate drive by @Naveen Raj, @Santoso Marjuki, @KAMALIO, @Gregory, @Vaibhav and @Fabien Monleau . Thanks for one of the most fun drives I had. The second drive against time and space, the duration of which inspired its 7-Eleven nickname, was expected to be more complex, mostly due to the choice of the terrain where the first segment took place: Murqaab to Faqa is a very diverse driving area, mixing tight technical dunes, strewn with vegetation, with longer range dunes, quite close to each other, which require a bit of tight turning to zig-zag across their cordons. After covering this first area, we proceeded 1) through the southern perimeter of Faqa's dunes (skirting the AD border), then 2) reached and traversed Little Sweihan longer and taller dunes, cut north through the Middle Earth, to reach 3) the Solar Park glass pyramid just as the 4 hour clock expired. With hindsight, the goal of covering 120 km in 4 hours was almost impossible to achieve, both in light of the difficulties of the first segment, and of the assumption of not having any issues with refusals and stucks along the way. Indeed, we had very few of these, except a couple of stucks that required tugs, and a pop-out that needed some time to get fixed. Considering that in 4 hours of total time we had actually driven for 3:25 hours and 93 Km, we decided to keep going for an extra 35 minutes, to reach Qudra's Gas station through the 4) Bab al Shams sector of Qudra's dunes. The day ended with 4:40 hours of total driving time (3:39 moving), covering 115 Km, at a moving speed of 31Km/h (25 Km/h total). As far as the convoy's performance, this was a busier drive, with @Waqas Parvez completing a very precise Second Lead, @Looper and @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil exchanging duties at Center Forward and Sweep, providing very precise instructions, and a perfect monitoring of the convoy, and @Rob S, @Stav, @Tom B, @Mohamad Anwer, @Vaibhav and @Rsjiv Samuel enduring with great concentration and skills my second longest drives (except for full day drives), only 500 meters shy of my longest lead. Thanks to all the thrill seekers who joined me in these two fun drives. See you soon in the sand.

As expected @Shaaz Sha brought us one the best drives I've done so far, adrenaline levels to the max! Thoroughly enjoyed driving with you all, everyone was amazing and many thanks to @JeromeFJ and @marks for the great support today. I know I've said it a million times since this morning, but next drive I would love to play around the area where we stopped for photos at the end, that was epic

what a lovely drive that was.. havent seen so many stucks and refusals in a single drive but it had lots of learnings.. plus a pop out at the end too.. started at 6.30 and finally ended the drive at 12! thank you @Tbone @Russ @Mark D and all fellow drivers..
