I Finished my regular mid-day offroad drive and felt a bit of steering play, the next day it started to increase a bit, I went to Dobinson (as I had modified my suspension from them) and they suggested it might be coming from steering rack, I went to my local garage and while just approaching the garage my front wheel came off. (My front brakes got damaged ), luckily it was not on high speed otherwise it would have been a disaster. I got my tyres balanced by one of the renowned tyre shops four days ago, when we inspected the car, we saw that the lug nut threads had completely worn off because the tyre shop had overtightened them, and as a result of the heat, they had completely melted on to the studs. I would like to highlight below point. · Increase of steering vibration the first thing to check is your tyre lug nuts. · Make sure you are vigilant when your getting your tyre lug nuts fixed. · Inspect your lugs threads when ever you change your tyres. · In case of excessive vibration, “Do not drive your car”6 points

Thank you all for joining the afternoon drive…just felt bad pulling few of you guys out of work. This shows how sand and car is a combination, can not be resisted. All made it on time, and even much earlier, quick briefing, since it was little sunny and hot, and started moving, enjoying the weather which started changing and the nice smooth terrain. All have shown great control. Few refusal, managed quickly with the help of great support team @Simon D, @imranaasghar81 and @Fabien Monleau. A good record, we did not need to use any shovel or ropes. @Nadeem Ansari very nice to see you moving with the LC, without issues. You need to start using the radio, your self. This will help you communicating with others at the right time, and very important to always carry it whenever you step out of the car. @Moutaz gendiadespite the load you are carrying, you have shown a good control. But by progressing, it will be good if you can manage to reduce the load as much as possible. Having a heavy weight (not sure how heavy) on top, will increase the possibility of flipping over (la samah Allah) when you do side sloping and ridge riding and crossing. @MikeSpillane @Ahmad Nerat @Bashar Beasha @Sebb @Glenn Waters pleasure meeting you for the first time, you have done a good job, and will see you in higher levels soon in sha Allah. Good to meet you again @Paul Zietsmanand @Tareq Al Turq. Thank you @Mohamad Anwerfor being SL, with the old lady. It did a good job climbing the big red. Wish you nice week ahead, and see you soon in sand6 points

Thank you @Islam Soliman - Fantastic would be understatement for this drive ! Right from the start till the time we exited, the smooth flow of convoy, covering long range dune, pace and technical patches, and soft sand adding to challenges that we were looking forward to - Couldn't have been better to spend Satday morning other than this way - barely Minimal refusals were confirmation how everyone else did in the convoy ! I found my new love : Shuwaib ( Sorry for the confusion at end point and holding the convoy - I couldn't resist those coconut water the minute i saw them ) Thanks @Rob S for being the sweep and keeping a clear eye on everyone , also assisting refusals. @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for being on your toes to assist those refusals and tugs ! And as always was great to see you all guys ! @Haitham Khattab @Gok Krish @Beide Worku @Imteeaz @Joji varghese @Sunil Mathew - Am sure, as for me, this drive will be long cherished by you guys too ! See you all soon again in sand !3 points

Hi everyone, Could anyone please suggest a good option for off road under 15k. The primary purpose of this car would be for off road and may be occasional use. Please suggest where i could look for such options.2 points

If 15k is your budget and you want a reliable off-roader, then there’s only a handful of options I think: - R50 pathfinder 3.5. - Jeep XJ Cherokee - Pajero generation 2 made until 1999 in 2 door version - Pajero generation 3 made until 2006 in 2 door version -Xterra is the best option if you’re willing to stretch your budget a bit.2 points

This is scary stuff really Sorry to read that . Thank God you are ok after all … reminds me of something long back in Amman after fixing my car post roll over , while I was completely stationary on signal red and once on gear one to move the front left came out and rolled on the road 😅 luckily me and every one around realized2 points

@Bjoern, in that case, your wife can join with Gaurav’s absolute newbie convoy as they will be driving the easy path to camp point. I would also suggest you join that convoy, so you can support your wife in deflation etc. Please note Gaurav’s convoy has different starting point which you can find in his convoy list.2 points

We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities. MUST READ AND COMPLY Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Drive Details Level: Fewbie Plus and above Meeting time: 7:30 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: Near the single lane camel track at Lisaili Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/yFFzpSNziFLhBd1HA Approximate finish time: 11:00 AM Action Plan: Lisaili is the home of Dubai's race camel farms, as well as the place where they train, on the circuit track, or the straight track. All along most of the Lisaili's plateau one can easily find camel tracks or run into herds or trains of these lanky animals. Inspired by a famous off-road race (The Camel Trophy), we'll exploit this wonderful area of camel farming and training to do our own training and racing across the dunes. As camels do, we'll move along, up, and over the yellow/white dunes of Lisaili, steadily and patiently overcoming all obstacles, until we'll be satisfied that we've had our fair share of "pasture". After practicing last week with a Fewbie drive, this session will be an upgraded, faster version of that one, exploring the deeper reaches of Lisaili. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Mandatory off-road gears: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit and fire extinguisher. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE This drive is limited to 10 cars only. If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list. RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list. Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others. Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month. PLEASE RSVP ON THE CALENDAR1 point

Dear Desertnauts, after a flurry of last-minute drops from the drive, it looks like we'll have a perfect sized convoy (7 cars in total) to push the drive to as close to a higher level as possible. We'll leave from the proximity of Lisaili's practice camel tracks, move along the pylon track to reach a point of entry beyond the track's fence, and, after passing through a small, but sometimes treacherous, technical area, we'll enter the first long range dunes. We'll alternate, as we move along, between long range open dunes, sabkhas and lower and more compact dune areas. We may loop back toward Lisaili, in case we move fast enough and have enough time once we reach thew outskirts of Solar Park (at the Three Trees area), or just exit at Solar Park. The convoy's positions will be: @Ashutosh Garg in Second Lead @Sam K at #3 @Daniel Rodas at #4 @Arda Yagcioglu in #5 @Yusuf Esaf at #6, and @James Thorn in Sweep. The Carnity radio channel will be #2 (446031). See you all tomorrow morning, looking for a speedy departure as close to 7:30 AM as possible. Have a great Friday evening.1 point

Hello everyone, just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a newbie to off-roading although my wife, Franky, has some experience. We have a stock FJ Cruiser and we're both looking forward to the event on Saturday and meeting everyone. George1 point

@Srikumar, what a beautiful day ! You pushed us to the top, and we pushed our cars to their max (I discovered a cut-off @5500 rpm with certain conditions). We lack of words to describe the thrill, the enjoyment, the emotions of these beautiful moments, but the pictures in the gallery reflect all this. Thank you @Gaurav and @Frederic for the 2nd and 3rd lead and the guidance throughout the drive, @Amr Aydinyour lines where beautiful and precise behind Fred, @ASAD. @Waqas Parvez @Vaibhav amazing trio of skills and camaraderie. Many many thanks @Srikumar, not only for that drive, that was outstanding, but also for bringing us with @Gaurav and @Frederic to that level where we can enjoy these epic rides ! And special kudos to @GauravSoni, who brilliantly took the challenge of leading the second convoy !1 point
