  1. So my Carnity friends...I have finally got a 2023 Bronco Wildtrak. Thanks @Gaurav@Looper@Rizwanm2 @Gautam Bank @Hisham Masaad @Frederic @Alexanderrr @Stumpy Flowers @Bravoecho @Krishna R @Pavel Pashkovskiy @Benjamin and all others those who had shared their wisdom and tips on the card ...ranging from Pajero, Prado, Patrol, Safari. Rubicon and Bronco. Had something to learn from all your experiences / suggestions. Also explored some of the other chats on the car forums. Lots of insights there! Last time i owned a 4WD in Dubai was 22 year back was when i had a 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero (Classic Green). Used to do some desert drives then but after that it has been only family sedans / other cross overs since 2001 ...once i relocated to Singapore. But it is great to be back here in Dubai after 2 decades. The off road landscape and vehicles have changed a lot. And...some really great offroad communities are here now. Last couple of months have been very exciting as i was looking for my off road car with all the advices, research and test drives . The new car prices (and availability) and used car prices (and the evaluations / conditions) have also been humbling revelations. Was also lucky to get some management contracts at Ford that facilitated the final Bronco purchase and delivery. But had nearly finalized and bought 4 other vehicles! Have been the desert in the heat a couple of time now...and driven a (reluctant and worried!) friend's Nissan Patrol V8. Great experience. And..no nothing happened to his V8 Y62 ..though he was biting his nails (more worried about his car than me!!). Ultimately ..as per my learnings here in the Carnity Forum...it is the driver, temperament, skills (and willingness to continuously learn more from all) and the community (for support and encouragements ) and not entirely about vehicles and modifications. Looking forward to seeing some of you soon!

  3. Good to see enthusiasm of desert wanderers for 'catch me if you can' , it is very likely whenever there is long waiting list ,the splitting of convoy is possible. But guys have patience for a day more. Cheers.

  7. Hi guys, just a quick update. I decided to go for Jeep Wrangler 2009, as I managed to find a very clean and stock model. Had to stretch my budget a little, but I am happy with the decision. See you on the desert!

  9. see and read the link below https://www.thenewx.org/threads/smod-hit-list-year-mileage-user-and-outcome.62655/page-19 2009 onwards SMOD is unheard of, but better to be safe with checks. American specs - please check thoroughly that their 4WD and diff lock if available is working properly. You will have many X up for sale with GCC specs , just keep a close watch with some patience. many have Abused but well kept their Xterra well in this part of the world ☺️, so good luck

  12. Hello @Sreenath G American specs are ok if you can be sure of the accident history and the car is in decent condition. The Americans don't dune bash like us. Most of them would overland which doesn't damage the car as much. Do note that US Xterras also come in 2WD models as well, so you need to get a "Pro 4X" model which is the Offroad version we have here. If not, just jump in and look for the 4H, 4L knob. A 2WD X is good only for pulling donuts. American Xterra's electronics are the same as the GCC ones. Anyway, you will install a kill switch for traction and ABS before entering the desert. Check the radiator and the cooling system thoroughly. American specs have a history of SMOD. Google it. If you see any traces of SMOD, walk away, not worth the headache. Regarding the budget to get it desert ready - You will have to change all fluids(engine, trans, transfer case, diff) and then drive the car to see other issues. The X has a tendency to hide issues and expose them one at a time in regular intervals 2008 X for 12K seems too shady. And if has been abused, not worth the risk and 8K might not fix it. Again, it depends on the condition of the car. Don't worry too much about the interior, thats inexpensive to fix, the mechanical part is what you need to focus on. Thank you!

  13. @Hisham Masaad Do I get an award for living upto the expectations of speed? Not just off-road, I continued to drive with that pace On-road also while going back, and here is an expensive evidence of the same😅, And Not just one day, the speed continued even next day when u were flying sweep 😂😂! @Frederic Please note this for a potential consideration for upcoming Hall of Fame☺️☺️)

  14. I am more surprised about there being a Duster in the group. Was he lost and joined the group mid drive?
