Hey @Zed believe that provision of 96 hrs is only for tourists....mid Jan the instructions mentioned need for Booster. I haven't been to AD since then so have no personal experience though. So any one visiting regularly might be able to advice.

    https://visitabudhabi.ae/en/plan-your-trip/covid-safe-travel

this one might be clearer >> Entry Procedures to Abu Dhabi | Abu Dhabi Government Media Office

Entering Abu Dhabi emirate from within the UAE
Unvaccinated individuals are required to present a negative PCR test result received within 96 hours.

My reading is "individual" = citizen, resident, tourist, human being...  😁

Your Mid-Jan Rule might be the one for Citizens: if you're a Citizen (wearing Kandura) then yes you can't go anywhere without Booster (see NCEMA announcement below)

The 10-Jan-2022 ban on unvaccinated citizens (not residents) 👇

Without the booster you still can enter with a fresh PCR - no? I have less than 6 months since my last vaccine - so don't need a booster.

    @Ilya @varunmehndiratta

Officially from Abu Dhabi Media Office: UnVaccinated can enter with PCR Negative within 96 hours
Officially from AL Hosn App: Vaccinated needs 2 doses + 1 Booster after 6 months + PCR Negative within 14 days

  3. Ah, Nissan with its Electronic Throttle Body that has  Limp Mode Lever (figure 1).

@Zixuan Huang - Charlie & @Foxtrot Oscar there's a Nissan bulletin on how to Clear Check Engine Light / Reset ECU without OBD2 scanner (figure 2)

Figure 1: ETC with Limp Lever

    ETCSi.gif.87d53ebcc68a425945992dbe336aa743.gif

So based on this, if you keep on getting Limp Mode, first clean the MAF (Mass AirFlow Sensor), if still persists then might want to replace the APPS (Accel Pedal Position Sensor - cheaper) and the Electronic Throttle Body (combination of Throttle Position Sensor + Control Motor in diagram) - more expensive unless aftermarket or original-reconditioned.

Figure 2: Nissan Reset ECU "Pedal-Dance"

    Nissan_ECU_Reset.gif.b258d632fc4402e8261f8032697ba438.gif

    Textual Description of Figure 2:

    1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” (without starting vehicle) and wait 3 seconds.
    2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.
2-a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).
2-b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
    3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approximately 10 seconds until SERVICE ENGINE SOON starts blinking.
    4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while SERVICE ENGINE SOON is still blinking).
    5. Wait about 10 seconds.
    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
    7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light will continue to blink).
    8. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the vehicle. The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light should be gone.
If the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU.

    Idle Air Volume Re-Learning "Pedal-Dance"

After clearing the Check Engine Light, follow this PDF (Charlie already shared the video, but I thought keeping this PDF is handy when there's no Internet) : 👇

@Zed thank you for staying with me solving the limp mode, I figured out later on from Thomas' post, but really appreaciate that you stayed with me for extra half hour!, Nissan OBD is really annoying, have to find out which reader reads Nissan now.

no worries man, too bad my ELM327 scanner is v1.5 and only works with Toyotas... this post here shows a photo of which scanner works with Nissan cars, I'd guess anything more than 100 dirhams would work, since the price of a Real ELM chip is US$21, so a proper OBD scanner should be priced above that...  this post here shows pics of which scanners to avoid as they are cheap clones (clones meaning not using the real ELM327 chip)

if you guys have any suggestions please let me know, i will be happy to cross the border (Green pass in hand) to explore it with you !

Hi @Frederic , for next time we can start from same track but mid-way cross North instead of West like you mentioned; see the Yellow Arrow below. Where the Green, Cyan and Blue tracks converge, there's a nice play area for high side-sloping 😊  It'd be minimum Fewbie tho as plenty of technical ups & downs and straight-crossings needed.

@ZedHere is the bowl you are referring to.  I have been there once and its was simply astonishing,    its shame we cant go back again.

Thanks @Rizwanm2! We did go on 11th June 2021 last year led by Fred, supported by Sri & Asif... it was also a Fewbie drive, but I think more of an "upgraded Fewbie" 😂  Somebody got 2 pop-outs;  someone's exhaust fell off;  someone almost broke a diff or something;  someone was almost stuck in the bowl since he kept on looping & looping but not reaching the top exit 😂😂 It was so tense that there were not much pics nor videos uploaded to the gallery https://carnity.com/gallery/category/796-fewbie-sweihan-abu-dhabi-11-jun-2021   , but thanks for your Videos, now i can be nostalgic and cherish those bowl-looping moments 👍

@Zed that area belongs to Royal Family and after seeing the Arabic signposts with stern warnings it has been labeled as no-go area for Carnity drives.

Haha so last time we had excuses; 1) didn't bring an Arabic translator with us;  2) was looking for some materials like barb wires since someone's exhaust pipes were touching the sand 😂

I see there is no other newbie drive in Abu Dhabi, and the other morning newbie drive in Dubai already has a long waiting list, so I guess no hope to have that one as a back up.

Fred's long-term agenda is to convert Abu Dhabians who have driven a lot to lead newbies for other Abu Dhabians, then PCR problem solved 😅🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Thanks a lot I am going for a rebuild with non genuine or genuine copy parts.

Mitsubishi 6G75 engine Tested + 30 days guarantee is selling for AUD 1250 / 3300 dirhams on eBay, am sure cheaper in Sharjah... why would you spend on non-genuine which will break later? If scrapyard is quoting you above 3000dhs, may be better to find logistics friend who can help import it less than DHL... i know someone ordered a hood/bonnet for LandCruiser from Australia 😂

  11. Thank you @Mehmet Volga for leading today's drive and bringing us all safely to the starting point 👍🏻 Well-noted on the advice captain, I had a look at the video and realized my mistake was because I didn't want to crash into the 2 trees, I overspeeded and missed turning down (from where i was sitting it looked like there is still more sand in front, didn't know it belonged to the other side 😂).  Alhamdulillah we are all safe 🙏🏻

Great support from @JeromeFJ he was shepherding those "lost sheeps" back into the main track. @Pacific great to have another Banter Buddy in the convoy, you lifted up the spirits from the Middle of the Convoy, supporting very well everytime an unnamed driver blame the 2nd lead for churning out the sand 😅

Thank you Sweihan Boys @Hasan Wahlan @Farouq Owdeh @Josh T. @Karthikeyan Govindarajan  for driving today, great camaraderie & reunion after some time 👍🏻
