  4. Yes, as @Rob Smentioned, another great drive and another fun drive, with great team. All were ready on time, and had to rush before other convoys start and spoil the tracks, which was already done earlier. Below what you guys has achieved, same would not have been possible with strong convoy. Many thanks for all joiners, @Simon Dawood @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Charbel @Fabien Monleau @Rob S @Tom B @Amir Amiri @Chris Wing @Davie Chase @Lawrence_Chehimi. Special thanks for @JeromeFJ . Pleasure meeting you again Lawrence after some time. Look forward to see you again.

    Nice week ahead.

    Hi Group Members,

I do have a negative mindset with regard to buying  LR 4 (2010) based on what I have read here and when googled on it’s realibility.

Last week I saw and drove a LR4 2010 6 cyl with 220000 kms. The car is fully maintained at agency and is being sold by second owner of 3 years.

I liked the car. The stearing looked little heavy when compared to my current Jeep GC overland 2011 but overall I kind of liked the looks and the drive.

Tomorrow I am taking the car for a auto testing center for a full physical and computerized checkup and will make a final call.

I will be happy if I can use this car for 3 to 5 years without major expense. Will be not be using this for off road as I want to make my existing JGC as main off road car (This discussion for another time).

Two issues that has come to light with LR4 as disclosed by the seller is (he discovered during recent inspections) is that the front bonnet is repainted by first owner (no record of it) and steering oil leak.

Assuming that no major issues are discovered in tomorrow’s test, what will be your advise based on your experience?

I am happy with the price (approx 27K). May negotiate it further. The seller has brought down the price during last one week from high 30s. I have so far not negotiated the price

My main concern is not to get cheated or get a car which has some major flaw or has some major reliability issue.

    Thank you in advance.

One more thing I am interested is to know if some of you have a good/Positive experience with LR4?

    As mentioned, please stay away.

After my Xterra was giving me problems after problems regarding check engine light I bought a professional Autel Scan tool. The Autel Maxicheck (Cost 1800 AED). Eliminated most of the problems by using the scan tool in live mode and observing the sensor values. Now the engine purrs like a cat. I was surprised to find out a new sensor which I didn't even know could stall an engine and affect its performance existed. The Power steering pressure sensor at the pump. The car can stall while idling because the sensor went bad and cannot tell the ECU to increase the RPM when you turn your steering at very slow speeds. OMG you have no idea how busy I got after acquiring this new toy.

I need the help of @Hisham Masaad to help me acquire a bracket to permanently fix the scan tool to the dashboard like he has fixed his tab for the GPS.

@Thomas Varghese Good morning. Not sure what size and weight is your tool. If something similar to phones and tablets, you can check on line stores, which I’ve done. I could not make my self, since there are accessories made of plastic and rubber which difficult for me to make. If looking for only metal work you are welcome to visit and figure out.
