M.Seidam
Amazing NB Drive with my little Co pilot Thank you Dr Chaitanya @Chaitanya D for allowing me join and share this amazing newbie drive , so it was for my little Abdallah who it turned out that he was my little back seated co pilot 😉 @Brette nice to see you again bro it was for quite a awhile since last time in Qudra. Thank you for the tricks and tips 👌🙏 @Rajeevan Vickneswaran first time we meet and you were the first anchoring link to the convoy. Well done and real pleasure driving with you 👍 By the time I arrived to the inflation point , the little sleepy voice in the back seat came to say : dad what did I miss ?! . .. oh Boy did my son feel that he might have slept all the time missing a nice smooth ride along with couple of digs and tugs and two pop outs and one winch . I guess not . Regardless of what it turned out to be the case he and me had enjoyed to the max. And also I got the apportunity to have the feel of my X after the clean and flush of what ever sand went in last week . So far it was ever better feel 😄 @Pacific driving his white wrangler I bet did excellent second lead. @Ishraque Ahammed @Yahya Munir @Nikola Bozovic @Adhir Saxena @Abilash Madhavan @Pmaraziti @Ammar Naji @N@ved @Sanjay Malik and @Lawrence_Chehimi @kolinrrj I hope you are doing better post vaccination and join soon you all did a good job in Faqa an area of soft super soft terrain which our lead found the best terrain for the ride I would say thank you all for the drive and the learning that we shared all of . In case some one couldn’t see please refer to the thread of the best of the recoveries I shared some clips there . photoes in gallery and relive is above in the thread earlier cheers all 👍🙏🌷 Edited March 13, 2021 by Mohamed Seidam 3 2

Popular Post Chaitanya D
Trip Report: While I still feel a bit sore in the muscles with all the action that happened on this drive, it is indeed refreshing and feels nice we had a drive which was super eventful and all came out unscathed🤣. Sincere thanks to the support on this drive I had - Rajeevan, Seidam and Brette. I think we were relentless in taking all the challenges thrown , with everyone cooperating well as we invariably exited beyond past scheduled time. When out there on sands plans change all the time, and especially on a Newbie drive. We started along the easy entry at Faqa to enter an area where we had to get in and out of bowls , heading towards south. We had our first situation here needing recovery with lot of shoveling ultimately ending in a tug. When one enters a bowl you have to use the momentum you gain climbing down to get out by accelerating when you come to the bottom. You should not stop at the bottom of a bowl from where , if there is soft sand getting out will be extremely difficult. We drove along innumerable long dunes, side sloping and climbing small to medium hills. We ventured close to little sweihan sabkha where we found a "pink rock"ish hill for all of us to climb up and down. Everyone did really well here to climb up and venture along the smaller bowl at the top , taking turn by turn. I appreciate everyone's patience here as it was a maneuver which needs some practice. The intention being we did not want two or three cars stuck in this slope when the recovery becomes difficult. Considering some event happening around Qudra area, I decided to loop back and exit where we started. Just to make the drive a bit more interesting I took you all into an area which was slightly technical nonetheless with softer sand. That's when we had more refusals and stucks, including a pop out on a BFG tire🤩. Generally these tires are very difficult to pop back in, but yesterday was a better day. Some quick help from Rajeevan, Seidam and amazing Brette meant we sorted this issue quickly. We had to remove the tire and stand on the rim to close all leaks for the tire to pop back in. But as the air was leaking from the edges , we quickly changed to spare tire and started again. I managed to find the dirt track heading back to the sabkhas , and at one point had to climb down a steeper hill. That's when we realize what happens if you miss a track, you get your self into a pocket with the tow hook buried deep in sand. After lot of shoveling and treasure hunting it , we managed to pull out in quick time. Despite all this, despite extended morning drive becoming a half day drive , what made it fun filled as it was not a long boring drive. Thanks to @Rajeevan Vickneswaran, @Mohamed Seidam and @Brette for an amazing support. @Pacific managed his SWB wrangler to perfection and did his 2nd lead as good as it can get. Thank you and well driven! @Ishraque Ahammed did surprisingly well until the last bit, when probably the longish drive and some fatigue set in. You need to follow the tracks of the car in front of you especially when venturing tricky areas. All in all , you did drive well for a LWB Explorer. I would advise you to get your rear tow /recovery points sorted. @Yahya Munir was well worth his recent promotion to FB and did really well with his cute little Jimny. You could not make it to the top of a hill , but that's perfectly alright. You really drive well and accept the cars limitations which is fantastic. @Nikola Bozovic in his LWB Pajero drove well with very minimal issues/ none if i remember correctly. Nice maneuvering to climb the hill in one go. Well done! @Abilash Madhavan drove his LWB pajero well , but was shy of gas at times. You need to practice this more and when venturing into steeper bowls/ Softer sand do not lose your momentum. By now,You know very well what happens if you do that, keep the momentum to drive through such patches. @Rajeevan Vickneswaran was an excellent center forward. Managed some recoveries really well especially in softer patches. Thank you! @Pmaraziti joined our drive after Ales masterclass and the experience gained from a masterclass was evident in the way he drove his FJC. Managed really well in all areas and some soft pockets with minor refusals. FJ is a great car to drive on any level. Hope you have cleaned and balanced your wheel after you were on tarmac. @Ammar Naji drove well in his longish Expedition . Some refusals towards the end in softer patches , recovered quickly. You are managing very well with each drive. @N@ved did well in his little TJ. A great car for the sands and I think you were enjoying the late addition to the drive. Well done @Mohamed Seidam thank you for playing the role of 2nd center forward. I had to do this considering a longer convoy of 15 cars in Faqa. Managed most of the situations very well and has some nice videos uploaded. Thank you ! @Sanjay Malik drove his LC with gutso even being at the back. Very nice maneuvering to climb the hill and exit out. Well drive @Lawrence_Chehimi managed his beast Y62 with some fab mods on bumper and the skid plate really well. Absolutely no issues for a huge car like this at the back of a convoy speaks how well you drove buddy. @Brette the Marshall who swept all of us, and always chipped in whenever there was a situation needing assistance. Thank you for joining and keeping the flock together. To summarize: Do not lose momentum in bowls at the bottom Do not be shy of gas on soft sand when you are moving Gas with no movement means you are sinking further Follow the tracks of the car in front of you, especially on a Newbie drive Patience while driving in a convoy, it was X this time, next time it could be you! Apply for your promotion on line if you have completed the required number of drives and more importantly you feel confident of getting to next level. It will be reviewed by feedback from all leads and advised if you need some fine tuning. Please feel free to share your experiences and mistakes if any from me/support teams. We all are here to learn from each other. Enjoy your week, see you all soon on some other drive. 3 1
Brette
@Chaitanya D thanks for an amazing drive Dr. I joined this drive at the very last minute hoping to test my vehicle as it had been in the garage for most 40 days. Your brilliant lead gave me a good mix of everything I needed to test the vehicle. @Rajeevan Vickneswaran and @Mohamed Seidam both of you were exceptional with the support and we needed a lot of it. Thank you. The rest of the convoy too did really well, it was my first drive with most of you and I was really impressed with the way everyone drove. With summer around the corner, the stucks and refusals will happen a lot more as the sands gets really dry and soft. Like @Chaitanya D said, when going downhill keep an eye on the exit path and if you see it soft or a slight incline, use the momentum you gain going down to power out of that spot as if you stop there or loose momentum there it can end up being a long day. Overall well done by everyone. 3 2
