Check the small vacuum hoses on the front diff actuator. They tend to wear out. Make sure the piston that locks/unlocks the front wheels is not full of sand and debris. You'll find lots of information on google about this common Pajero issue. it's either 1) The solenoids which are located in the engine compartment 2) The vacuum hoses between solenoid and the diaphragm 3) Stuck actuator (piston) that engages or disengages 4WD 4) Vacuum operated diaphragm 5) Sensor on the transfer case. hello everyone. though i have been driving on road for a very long time. i have never done off road. i am purchasing a nissan patrol v8 in a few days and would be interested in experiencing and learning on desert and wadi drives. i would love to have inputs on driving and maintaining my vehicle off road. please also let me know how i can take classes for desert n off road driving. feeling excited . thanks in advance best regards

I have verified the physical conditions and it sounds good as there no such damages Will check the above possibilities and I feel this is like false alarm only after few mins drive the information u provide was great and I am very much thankful for spending time to update hats off to all thank u I did once and it was fine when I drive 4x4 and in fact I have done a recovery also with that to one sedan who got struck in loose sand . Will do it again few more time and will update

Short term : W16 engine, lift, King suspensions. Long term : windshield wipers. (More seriously I don’t have anything in mind, I tought about a lift but since Xterra isn’t the most stable car on-road I prefer to keep it as it is...)

BUHAHAHAHAHAH, this happens the same with me long ago and spotted this after lots and lots of $hit. My Pajero after an engine rebuild, doing first sidey and car went off. Came down started again, worked perfectly and then on next sidey car went off again. Exited desert with two cars escorting me to home, nothing happened. Went to the mechanic he literally pulled his hair as he can't spot the error. Next mechanic came in and spot the fault in 30 minutes, engine main ECU wiring has been passed next to the manifold and melts the wire to short that monster 100 AMP fuse on battery. Solution: ECU wire should be covered in heat resistant material and should not pass next to the exhaust manifold. If you want I can take my engine bay pictures and post to show the correct routing. You can refer to your old engine bay pic if you have it handy to find a sweet spot to secure those critical cables. See you on Friday

Of course, you have been helped enough with Fred and other comments, but just before you go whole nine yards I just like to ask you have you tried playing with lever a few times....? Put in several settings and drive for a few minutes, switch off the car and switch on again with few more attempts from 2H - 4H - 4HLC - 4LLC and back. In my car, if I loosely push out the 4W to 2W I see that blinking occasionally, so I put back in 4W and snap back at 2W with a little hard hand and that blinking goes away.

There are a few electronics repair shops in Dubai but they mainly focus on home hifi amps, not on car amps. You might be better off trying to find one from a scrap dealer in Sharjah. Beware that the amplifier could have been damaged by one of the speakers itself if there is a shortcut. So i'd recommend getting the wiring checked and the speakers measured up before you connect any new amp.

I have got the clayton player for my wife trailblazer, two years back and so far she is very happy with it. It has DVD, GPS, rear camera, bluetooth etc. I think it was for 500 something as I got whole job for 1000 including rear screen on roof, reverse camera with installation etc..

I work in a shop that mainly builds custom cars and choppers. Also restore classic cars and do some maintenance and repairs to everyday road cars. I mostly work in the office but sometimes I’m out in the shop advising the mechanics and electricians on diagnosis and repairs. Spent most of my life working on cars and it’s nice to go home with clean hands every day now. Perfect job for me, I get paid for doing my hobby.

Hi all I was looking for suggestion as I have 2009 pajero LWB 3.5 recently I did oil change for all like engine, ATF, transmission and differential all was changed with recommended grade and I started facing issue with diff lock indication after few mins drive in 2H which i never seen before since I bought this car in 2014 and now I felt something wrong with the oil or maybe the sensor malfunctioning after new oil can someone give some heads up about the actual reasons behind..

Why is that Cars people say are not good or reliable more expensive even if Old. Specially 2 brands of 4x4 Old jeeps the price of used old jeeps are sky high. Old Chevy Tahoe are other 4x4 which are expensive. Then why do people say American cars have no resale value? Prices of old patrols and Land cruiser are high but these American beasts higher. Can someone explain.

So it all started on one fine morning. As a normal day started of with unlocking our Pajero and found some water drops on the seat. No rain that day, but still checked for roof leaks and found none. Maybe the leather sweating? But have not seen drops, if something spills it would cover much larger area. So we cleaned the water drops and continued on pur way. The next morning again we were surprised by the same water drops, but this time there were a few over the dash as well. The suspect was the roof again. But verily roof was dry. Still unsuspecting we cleaned the water drops and headed to our office. In the evening when my wife came to pick me up she was looking pale and scared. She explained as she opened the car she saw something white very quickly move from the passenger seat down and disappeared. She suggested we quickly go to a car wash and get the car cleaned out inside and out. Throughout the way we kept really silent and concentrated on any sounds inside the car. It was completely quiet and our hearts were racing throughout, even a breeze or our own movement would scare the he'll out of us. The strangest hour ever spent in a car in my whole life. There was a strange feeling of something or someone being in our car with us. I kept on thinking we would need an exorsist for our car instead of just a good wash. Finally we made it to the car wash and started emptying the car to have a good vacuum inside. As we were removing the items from our car we saw what once again proved the wife is always right. We needed a good wash and no exorcism was required. A grey mouse jumping in and around our car. What a relief. Tried chasing it out, but not quite sure if that little rodent was still there or gone. As the car was finished and we headed home, we decided to make sure and got some rat glue with mat. My wife could not take the suspense and headed back down to the car just before going to sleep. No surprise there it was the trouble maker, stuck in one of the mats we had placed. She took help of one of the supermarket guys and released the little rodent back in the open. With a few mats still in the car just to make sure, in 2 more days we were relieved and now pondering how he got in. Two days it was in there without making a noise. We recalled going to the tire shop to get a tire checked which kept looking the pressure. We had switched off the car, and since the car was getting suffocating, she opened the rear door for ventilation. The tire just had a bad valve which was replaced, easy and cheap fix, but it must have given the mouse to get into the car in those 15 minutes. My advise, please do not leave your cars open and unattended open the window a crack if required. Thinking of getting all the wirings and electrics checked as mice like to chew on stuff. Please recommend any other advise you deem right in such a situation, or simply share your strange stories here.

@nutbolt all I wanted to know is American cars JEEP ( only warngler) and Tahoe. Many flag ship cars are so cheap. Why only these 2 American 4x4 defy all rumors that American cars don't have resale value or not reliable. Even when they have so many kms and problems.

Also worth checking the engine main power line that feeds the spark plug coil maybe short and that's why engine not cranking and blowing the fuse. You need a big load to short that battery fuse, it cant be music system or light chewing this much.

It's very good thinking to get the wiring checked from a professional garage as you never know what that little creature must have chewed and might cause a spark or short circuit.
