Drive Report With the weather still so pleasant, i have been aiming to do a full drive for quite a while now in the Sharjah-RAK area. And with such a nice convoy in my pursuit, we can call it a blessed day. We met up at 07AM on a dirt track nearby the Al Batayeh Petrol Station, and everyone was eager to conquer whatever was presented to them. Unfortunately after about one hour, the mighty big beast of @Abu Muhammad wanted to take a day off, after realizing there was something wrong with the 4x4 system on a tricky slope inbetween bushes where my winch was useful. We exited at the nearby village to say goodbye to our friend. I hope the mighty Sequndra is riding again soon in our convoys. From Batayeh, we made our way to Falaj Al Moalla, that belongs to Umm Al Quwain, and is knows for its fort and three watchtowers, of which the one we passed by was the West watchtower. We found some funny vehicles in the village, probably from a collector, and made our way through town and onto the next farm track that would lead us to Ghail. We've seen loads of camels, occasionally becoming part of the convoy, and i had to reroute quite a few times to steer clear of them. Obviously we didn't want to scare these wonderful ships of the desert. Unfortunately the wild donkeys seemed to have a Friday day off, as we have spotted not a single one. After reaching Al Ghail industrial village, we inflated a bit as we needed to drive on the main road for a few kilometers to cross the road and make our way to Al Ghail town. We took a break at some nearby ghaf trees and had some lunch. The last part of the adventure was a riverbed trail (wadi) that meandered around the mountains and gave us a glimpse of the activities in these small mountain villages. We exited at Asimah, a little village a few kms north of Masafi. @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ you were the perfect second lead, rerouting and correcting where needed and always focused on the task at hand. Thank you! The Pajero team @Hossam Anwar @paolo dassi @Trekado took this challenge with bravoure, drove amazing, and showed how capable a Pajero is in its stock form. @Bhaskar proved that the Montero Sport is equally capable in the right hands. Well done guys ! @kolinrrj with the mighty Landcruiser. You have really impressed me with your driving skills and attitude. Always positive, calm, and learning very quick. Amazing ! @Melenany keeps taking that F150 through every town and every dune magnificently. Man and Machine perfectly in sync ! Thanks for the nice photos and relive video ! @Werno and @Sara EL FANIDI proved once again the capabilities of a short wheel base Jeep Wrangler. Seeing the Jeep Wrangler having progressed from @Jeepie her powerful utilitarian beast into a comfortable modern 4x4 in the same convoy is amazing to see. @Sajit Modiyil as usual so capable with the beautiful Xterra, not putting a foot wrong and gliding through the dunes effortlessly. Superb ! @Ahmad Shaker being the only FJ today showed the amazing capabilities of these cars and enjoyed the scenery from the back without much issues or struggles. Well done ! This concept, started by @Ale Vallecchi who has proven that it works and there is traction in these kinds of drives, will definitely be repeated as long as the weather permits. BhTrip Report What a pleasant morning with wonderfully caring people. It was a drive for me with many positives. From the Sun rising from behind the clouds with the orangish streak of light breaking through the clouds. To arriving at the deflation point with everyone adhering to social distancing and complying with the Covid19 precautions throughout the drive. We had a radio briefing after we realized that @Tareq Ghosheh was the only one missing from the convoy. As soon as the radio briefing was done we were headed out to enjoy what was going to be an awesome morning. We traversed the terrain from Tawi Nizwa farms towards Pink Rocks. Mostly tracks could be found everywhere as expected, but surprisingly we found some virgin dunes which was a pleasant surprise. Surely we had our part of challenges along the way and they were taken care off in good time as our momentum carried us through. We were blessed to have @Lorenzo Candelpergher convoy crossing us in the nearby dunes. Driving on top of wide ridges was the norm of the day. With great pace we had reached the play area at Pink Rocks within no time and all of us had some fun climbing and experimenting with our vehicles. as we saw another convoy approach us we moved on to the next part leaving the area for the other convoy to enjoy. It was time to head down from the play area and up again on top of Pink Rocks to take our adventure further on the other side. Everybody reached the top before I had time to blink my eye lids for a second time. Our path was blocked by another convoy so we made it around the higher grounds and headed towards the drop that continues and takes us into the bigger playable area. As we took on that challenge we had a few refusals, but nothing the team could not manage. We were crossed by a couple of convoys on the way, but we safely avoided those convoys as we approached the Big Red. On the way we were greeted by part of Dr @Chaitanya D group and a quick hello to @Tbone and we were off. Since we still had over an hour I decided to take our convoy through some higher dunes. Not my fault, they just seemed to be doing so well I almost forgot I was out with a Newbie group. An incident from another convoy on our path meant it was safer to head down and make our way through the smaller dunes. This meant we reached the base of Big Red with an hour to go. Original plan was to climb the Big Red and since there was no one around we could just play to our hearts content. Well the content was achieved by all in 20 minutes and we decided to head to some technical area which I know one of our convoy member self confesses to being in love with. In this area we saw a lone biker just having fun riding his bike around. So we carefully snuck through this area, not only to save the biker, but the area was full of shrubs and unexpected dips. It was not long before we had a stuck, yes I said stuck. We tried to keep it down to a refusal, but some how we missed the trick and with the heat going up with the sun out and time ticking past the 11 am mark, we decided to rope the vehicle and pull it out which was a wise decision. The driver of the vehicle still had his chance to practice self recovery as it was a tricky area and he managed it with a lot of finesse. Great to see. At this point we gathered the convoy and headed out to inflate and head back to enjoy the rest of our weekend. I would like to thank @Baskaran P.R for being an excellent second lead. He was the only Pajero on the drive which has not happened to me in a long time. But he made it look so simple to handle his Pajero well. My scariest vehicle on the trip was at the mercy of @Joseph Sebastian, his Discovery looked all so pretty. I am glad that he not only managed it well, but left with a huge smile and the vehicle looking just as pretty at the end of the drive as I first set my eyes on it in the morning. @Osama Al Hamwi thank you for showing us how a huge land yacht can be managed on the sands. That Land Cruiser was not only loaded with features but with family who could not stop smiling and managed through the terrain with some ease. @pramod was out with his family again and also in a Land Cruiser. The energy of this family as a whole is bound to put a smile on anyone face. @marks has always been helpful, but I've seen him with so much more energy as he is the officially chosen one to help the convoy out. Besides his enthusiasm and willingness to help I love his calm approach. You could be hanging from a cliff by a thread, but in his calm way he would walk up to you and tell you it's not so bad. This puts the driver at ease and makes them more receptive to the solutions at hand. @marks was one of the reason we were well ahead of time at any given point and kept the convoy moving smoothly. @Serafino in his red JLU did amazingly well and I heard only good things about his driving ability. I am glad I got an opportunity to chat with him after the drive and was pleased to learn he has done 7 other drives with friends. Although he's done only 3 drives with us including this one, but appreciates our dedication to safety. Hope I will be seeing his promotion to Fewbie shortly. @William Fernandes with his FJ Cruiser did so well throughout the drive. However got 3 refusals in the second part of the drive. Although he was a bit concerned, but this is not without a reason. At this level you're still learning and a good lesson in feflation for all. After about an hour of driving you gain a couple of PSI, so if you were at 15 PSI now it's 17 PSI which can result in refusals. If you feel a wheel spin or refusal after about an hour of driving in the sands, check and lower your tire pressure as required. This level also is your basic foundation of the rest of your time in this sport. So experiment with your tire pressure till you are at 9ne that suits you, your vehicle and your drive style. @Watteau was on my drive for a second time and he never fails to impress me with his Raptor. There are monsters and their are ways to tame the monster to what you want it to do. @Watteau has impressed me time and again to how well he keeps his monster in check. But time comes when he unleashes his monster with great control on throttle and steering to make his maneuvers look like a piece of art. @Ammar Naji carries his heavy Expedition well over most terrains and manages to take it mostly anywhere. Technical area might not be his strong point and a ride or two with @Wrangeld can give him that finesse in testing terrains. For these kind of heavy vehicles and burly V8 engines it important to get the deflation right and creating and keeping momentum at its peak at all times. Dr. @Mohamed Seidam was the icing on my cake. He was doing superbly well at sweep and making sure the rhythm of the drive was not missing at any given time. He was clear with his communications with me and his instructions to the drivers facing refusals were accurate. I enjoyed the loads of pics he has uploaded in our Gallery and anybody wants to relive the drive can go through his pics to remind us of what an amazing trip we had. Thank you Chaitanya for encouraging. Do we have some basic post desert drive care for vehicle need to be done. Yes basic self maintenance which will save you lot of hassle - open air filter when cool, and remove all sand or dust in the filter you can use a home based vaccum cleaner blower - check coolants in reservoir and the radiator when engine is cold( early morning better) - check engine oils , brake fluids and steering oils - may be once a month - bend over and glance the underbody to look for any obvious leaks, leaks from differential - visual inspections of tyres for cracks

Hi everyone, here the drive report The drive: Just with a little delay after a short briefing (following the COVID 19 rules) via radio we started driving easily to let everybody warm-up. Played a bit on nice bowls on the route between our starting point and Fossil rock. While approaching we noticed that was crowded, so decided to avoid climbing from the front side because too many tracks were making the climb bumpy and uncomfortable. Approached from the side, and it was much better. Reached the top we found a group who was playing with a sort of huge parrot. We spent some time there before continuing. From that moment on the pace and the level raised. Just after Fossil rock we found our first challenge and then a wonderful virgin area on the route to Faya (Back Side). Playing on that tall dune was wonderful, we enjoyed several climb/bowl/side slopes before reaching the top. Decided then to go down and see if it was possible to climb from the front side. Unfortunately it was not. Several groups were going up & down at different speeds and directions. We decided to climb again from the left side. Here @Michael Glavanis had an issue, the oil light of his car was on so he had to get out. Fortunately we were just close to the exit and @Pancho was with him. Continued our drive enjoying the wonderful area when, almost on the bottom of the back side, @Malachy McGrogan had a popout. We sorted out with the help of @Gaurav that was nearby. The convoy. Everyone was amazing! @Malachy McGrogan thank you for your excellent second lead, always present and followed all my suggestions without any hesitation. @Joe Biju Joseph was the most energetic between us, always smiling and positive! @Michael Glavanis, british in his drive style, attitude and his car! I hope that everything was good on the way home! @Nathan Evans I was watching you almost all the time, interested in how your Jimny was doing. I found it impressive how you improved during the dive. Hard to say that you were the same that had to reroute after fossil rock when I saw you climbing handling your car perfectly on Faya! A special thanks to @Pancho for the support as sweep and @Gauravwith@Gauravwith the new leaders for the help! So, I hope that you enjoined drive as I did, See you on the sand then!

Though i joined the drive less than one hour , but it was amazing and i am sure i missed lot of fun and entertainment as I had to exit early . Thank you Lorenzo for the Lead and giving me the opportunity of being the 2nd in the convoy . In fact it is the second time I the drive under you lead ,,,, it is a five stars drive , where i get new experience and fun in addition to beautiful places and sights ... I hope to fix the overheating issue and be able to complete the drive next week,

Dear @Thomas Varghese, while I appreciate your enthusiasm, I am afraid your request cannot be accommodated. Carnity Off-road Levels are foremost designed and utilized to ensure the safety of all our members: in order for you to join an Intermediate Drive, you will need to have reached the corresponding Intermediate Rank in Carnity. With the number of drives you have you are close to your Promotion. If you haven't applied for it you can do so, even if I believe, as you correctly said, the Advisors Group is likely to require that you take a couple more FB+ drives, as they are specifically designed to assess a driver's readiness for the next level. Also, I'm sure you understand that making an exception to the rule would constitute a precedent which would make anyone entitled, based on their own perceived skills, to ask for the same, ultimately defying the whole concept of Carnity Off-road Levels. There will be plenty of other Intermediate midweek drives, when you will be ready.

Next time I get close to your camera, however, I'll hold my breath and pull back my (hidden, very deeply hidden) abdominals, as the fish-eye lens really enhances my "roundness" 😂😂 Regarding the title.. At the moment since Islam and Jon M already have had a drive this weekend, you followed by @siddharth maheshwari (assuming it's his first drive of this weekend) would have the first preference. Just an update for everyone, is that as Angela's car is not feeling well, I will be leading this drive tomorrow. Since there could be some last minute changes in particpation I shall post the final convoy numbering in the morning. We shall be using Carnity Channel 4.

What an amazing day @Lorenzo Candelpergher, what a great expert and soon Marshall. You were brilliant, kept checking on every single one of us, provided continuous updates, responded dynamically to all the challenges and unfortunate events, and even managed to finish the day on time, can't get any better than that. A smaller convoy was truly enjoyable. We spent the entire time driving instead of shoveling Hope to see you guys again soon, it was a very capable convoy indeed.

@Lorenzo Candelpergher what a drive today.... brilliant execution, great leadership, always helping, pushing to go that extra mile. This is the best drive i had till date with Carnity. Thanks to the entire convoy/seniors in helping each other & understanding . First time to be in the second position in the convoy which was a great experience. Yep Guilty as charged but it the English flag on the other side my lady is Scottish so couldn't get away with just the English one! Im Fewbie now but my pal didn't apply quick enough to be promoted so was sweep for @Chaitanya D for my first time as sweep I enjoyed it actually was nice not too worry about about anyone behind me for once the covid restrictions kill me as i do like to get out and help and learn getting someone out of the pickle there in..... Last note the HUMMER H2 is blowing my mind still and getting easier to drive every time we go out it does make me chuckle when i turn up with a new marshal and there concerned face to be completely different by the time we end the drive always more impressed than expected!

Unexplored Qudra This drive totally deserved its title (at least for me😉) as I have never been on this side of Qudra🤨. So was a really good experience and would definitely like to go there again... Despite of the delay that @Wrangeld had due to his drive in the morning, he was still so enthusiastic and full of energy to take us through this technical terrain, I really have loads of appreciation for this Sir...thank you so much...was definitely a day full of challenges for you...hopefully you can catch up on some well deserved rest😉 I would like to extend my special thanks to @Tbone to have taken us through some dunes while waiting for Richard and those were really nice and thanks for his valuable support throughout the drive... @Islam Soliman, thank you for being a great sweep... Also the team we had yesterday, thank you all for your patience and you all did great👍

Hello My name is Rawad and I drive a V8 Nissan Patrol 2019 Platinum I've some experience as I usually deflate the tires and go drift on the sand, or try a hard angle dune. Yet I still have 0 knowledge when it comes to dunes bashing, cresting, etc I have a deflator gauge, a compressor, a rope with shackles Super excited

Haha mate how are you and how long did the recovery take to come get you? Hope it wasn't to expensive to fix matey

More than the additional 1 fewbie plus drive I require for the promotion I believe I should have the necessary gear to apply. Waiting for getting my kinetic tow rope & soft shackles.
