Personally, I think that it should always be like this. For just about every Newbie there was a senior club member in front of them showing them a great line to drive and helping them to self recover when the going got tough. I loved it, friends I have been driving with for some time and new friends to be made joining in the fun and showing such enthusiasm that it was contagious. In the end the drive was a high level Newbie (mainly because I pushed everyone to try a few criss crossing moves that would not normally be in the Newbie handbook) which took us from almost Solar Park roundabout the Qudra dunes and all the way back to Last Exit. For me, there's a sense of achievement in getting back into Last Exit as the end point to a drive because its that point where you can relax, inflate at ease, get a drink if you need, find a bathroom and take time to chat to a few people before you make your way home and off to your next activity. All the newbies should be immensely proud of themselves for this drive. I do not underestimate the added pressure of knowing that the seniors are all around you (how ever comforting that might be) and the possible feeling of "will I ever be able to do that?" watching them float above the sand effortlessly as they come to someone's rescue or seeing them hold a long ridge ride or side slope that looks terrifying or too difficult for you. But we've all been there. We were all beginners too and none of us ever forgets that. We all remember that fist excitement of 'wow, my car can really do this, and so can I' and it does not leave you. That's why we all love Newbie drives. OK - for the more experienced it can be a little more relaxing than some drives, but we know that each and every one of the less experienced drivers is an essential part of the lifeblood of the club. Without you the seniors are nothing more than a group of enthusiastic sand drivers! I hope that everyone enjoyed the drive as much as me. See you soon in the sand.

very well plan @Ale Vallecchi and @Wrangeld for the day wrapped with mysterious buzz which obviously attracted lots of adventure seekers. As usual, amazing drive with just the right amount of spices which started becoming more "hot" towards the end with Lisalili's white sand reflecting the shinning sun into everyone's eyes making it very hard to read the dunes or follow the track.. no wonder glass is made out of sand! Still everyone managed extremely well with minor refusals and stucks here and there quickly and flawlessly managed by an amazing team work. @Ahab Shamaa thanks for a flawless 2nd lead .. I still think you can make loads of money for every time you put your winch to work @Francois Germishuys great sweep and great recovery job today buddy.. well done.. you only need to work on your speed .. you are tooooo slow on the road :)))) @Jeepiesorry that you had to deal with with all the destroyed tracks the beast leaves behind .. was great to drive with you again

WHAT AN AMAZING DRIVE Thank you @Luca Palanca Falsini @Niki Patel @Shehab Alawadhi @Lorenzo Candelpergher for this super drive, it was challenging one but loved it as there was lot to learn on these dunes. While trying to climb my Pajero shift its gear from 1 to 2/3 by itself and then it drops RPM after this I need to come all the way down and start new attempt. (any advice to fix this issue) Everyone in Convoy did excellent and thanks to all members for their patience, help during refusal and stuck. (Good teamwork)

It could be due to the placement of the weights, if they’re in the area closest to the brake caliper they will be the most likely to be knocked off by debris. We have similar issues on race cars due to rubber from the track, we use Aluminum tape to cover the weights, and also avoid placing the weights in the area of the wheel which has the least amount of clearance. You also have to make sure the area is very clean before sticking on the weights and tape.

You are 100% right Dr @Chaitanya D. Please excuse me from today's drive. I don't think I can give 100% concentration as I feel tired. I may need to consult a doctor as my BP levels are dropping to very low levels. Thanks for the advice.

The Shuwaib area is various with big dunes followed by technical areas, the shape of the dunes is very irregular in technical so it is a wonderful moment to learn. The drive, of course, was pushing the boundaries of a Fewbie plus to the limit and everybody did an exceptional job! @imranaasghar81: you did great! It's nice to see how you are improving each drive I meet you, your confidence and your skills. Everybody drove so well! I thought I was in fewbie convoy! Thanks @Rahimdad for amazing drive and advice for recovery! @Nikola Bozovic you saved my day! I think I overcharged my Radio last night which caused issue. I went straight to dragon mart to get another radio for my afternoon drive and now I too have a spare radio for someone like me in need! It was amazing to see the team attempt the pink rock climb with such confidence and perfect execution. I think none fishtailed which just shows the amount of work the marshals do guiding each driver over radio at newbie level to make them understand the terrain and learn to control their beasts! thnaks @Paul Zeitoun for the sweep! @Rawad Bahsas you drove brilliant 2nd lead! @Gregory well driven! I don’t recall myself getting unstuck with such ease during my newbie drives! @Lakshmi Narasimhan I haven’t seen an almost brand new pajero on the dunes until I saw your car! Sometime You can drive a flawless drive or you get stuck on invisible pocket! But it’s at that instance you will learn more about yourself and your car! since it’s covid times didn’t get the chance to meet the other drivers. Hopefully this will be thing of the past soon! until next time!

Searching online, seems that some people are adding the unichip piggyback in which you can have a mode that limits your engine's rpm to 5200 and thus your trans will not upshit.

The only thing that you would get hampered is long hill climbs which in Carnity drives is about 10% of the entire drive duration. Play with the tiptronics and you will find a sweet spot and be able to manage most of the things. Just for information, Vanessa and Richard also drive Pajeros which have the upshifting problem, but they have mastered the gear shifts beautifully and gets every bit of juice out of their cars. Just needs some practice and an understanding of what is your car's limit. So sit back and enjoy the Carnity drives.

Off roading needs 100%concentration . You are doing quite a number of rides, do them to enjoy and not to burn yourself out. Hope you take my advise sportively. (Along with shovel, flag, deflator and compressor) If you dont have one please arrange for one so that you can join drives with Carnity. I would advise you to sign out if you could not get one for today's drive. Covid is not allowing us to share equipments yet. TIA Family members are welcome provided they are belted at all times and are used to desert driving as some get motions sickness.

If you are driving a 2015 Pajero in tiptronic it will hold the first gear. The upshifting problem is there in 2008-2011 models

If this happens after _every_ drive, sounds like something(s) might be loose. Get under your car with those camping headlight strapped on the head and inspect: Tie rods still straight or bent? Ball joints worn or not? How to Check Ball Joints: 7 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow Track bar bolts loose or need tightening? Any bolt holes that have lost the bolt in place? Control arm bushings, have the rubber worn out or do you see too many plays (bars can move too freely)?
