@AlexM @mikaeel shaik @Ferl Brown @Mohammed Abuamer @Jerry Han @Ruan van den Heever @Muhammed Saeed @Walter Palk @Bobby Jacob @Mus_hus78 @Mohseen Suliman @Jaap Thank you for joining tomorrow's Sweihan drive. For those who would be driving with us for the first time welcome to the Carnity Offroad Club. PREPARATION FOR THE DRIVE AND WHAT TO EXPECT 1) Please ensure that you reach the meeting point on time, i.e., 6:00 AM sharp. Reaching 10 mins early would be better, but dont be late. Also, ensure that you have tow points at the front and rear with 8 inch (min ground clearance) 2) All first timers with Carnity need to ensure that they have gone through the Newbie briefing Video : 3) The senior members on tomorrow's drive would be @Brette and myself. 4) We will be using Carnity Channel 3 tomorrow. (446.05625 Mhz). The instructions to program the radio are provided in the below post. Please ensure that you have a fully charged and programmed radio before the drive. If you are a first timer with Carnity we shall provide you with a spare radio for this drive, if you dont have one. 5) All traction controls, Airbags and ABS need to be switched off. While turning off traction control is mandatory, its ok if you are unable to turn off the Airbags for this drive. Traction Control, ABS and Airbags can be disabled by a button or by pulling the fuse. Incase of any queries you can always ask me or the senior members before the drive or better still, post your queries on this drive post and we would assist. 6) You will need a pressure gauge and deflator as a minimum. If you have a compressor it would be good to being along. 7) For highway tyres you can deflate to 15 psi. Those who have AT tyres, you can deflate to 13 psi. 8 ) Feel free to ask questions at any time. 9) Convoy Numbering will be posted today evening after 8 pm. We shall be starting the drive on some flat tracks and would build up the pace from there depending on the convoy response. We will be driving for about 3.5 hours practicing driving in sand, proper steering control, crossing some dunes, and getting you and your vehicle more familiarized with the desert. By 10:00 am we will be heading out towards the ADNOC gas station. COVID PRECUATIONS COVID is still very much there, so once you reach the meeting point, park your cars at sufficient distance from each other. Always wear your masks while stepping out of your cars. Once done deflating, please get back into your cars immediately. Drivers will be responsible for the compliance of their passengers as well.3 points

You shouldn't use any compressor for inflating 8 tires non stop unless you let it cool off for 15 - 20 min atleast after 4 tires. Overheating due to crossing the duty cycle is number one reason for busting the compressors. It's more easy in hot weather to bust it.3 points
-
@Yawa @Gaurav I will bring my Spare compressor happy to loan it out3 points
-
Sorry to hear that, but you can still join as the next fuel station or tire shop who can inflate are less 8-10 km from our end point. You can safely drive at 40 kmph speed with your deflated tires. Secondly more than likely tire inflating shops at big red (end point) will be working on Friday morning. If not you can drive at deflated tire for few kms. I have done that many times and for many kms as far as your driving at 40 kmph, you and your tires are fine.3 points

Thank you @Chaitanya D and Hi to all members, I am Praveen Raj, working as a Creative Art Director, in a Dubai Media City based advertising agency. I have zero experience in off-roading and I am eager to attend and learn more about this fascinating activity. My car is a 2006 Jeep Commander, white colour. Both the tow points and the car are in good condition. In addition I have only one towing rope and a basic tyre inflator machine in my car. Awaiting for tomorrow to see you all and have fun!3 points

Hi @Ale Vallecchi If possible please add me in WL as drive-1. Regards...3 points

@Chaitanya D Hello to all the members, totally excited and nervous at the same time. 1 more day to goπ3 points

Dear friends @Juzer Talib @Prakash Anoop @Bharath Rao @Praveen Raj Rajan @Shynil Hashim looks like we will have a nice little convoy of 7 cars including myself and @Islam Soliman. We will wait till RSVP closing time if there are more signups. For desert drives short convoy is always more fun. Please make sure your cars are in the best of conditions, all fluids checked . Come well rested for a fresh start and get acquainted being on sands - for some probably first time. Please make sure you have gone through the newbie video briefing in the drive thread, read and click totally agree on the covid precautions for this drive. Bring along the off road gears if you have - radios, compressor, deflator , flag and a pole, shovel. These are not a must for Absolute Newbie drive. Bear in mind the air compressor at the gas station in last exit-qudra is super slow and most of the times under repair. Hence the least would be to bring your own compressor. See you all on friday morning as scheduled . Please arrive on time with a tank as full as possible, the nearest gas station is at the last exit in Qudra.3 points

With the tremendous increase in the number of COVID cases in the UAE, we all have to be responsible while off-roading. Failing to abide by any single precaution at any time during the drive, will result in an immediate ban from Carnity Off-road Club. ZERO TOLERANCE First offender - 1 Month Ban. Second offender - 3 Month Ban. Third offender - lifetime ban and report to authorities. COVID19 PRECAUTIONS 2.0 All Carnity off-road drives will be LIMITED to driving only: No Socializing and gathering allowed at any time. No break for taking photos, breakfast, smoking, etc. No exchanging of off-road or recovery gears. Wear a mask at all times, while outside your vehicle. For passengers restrictions, follow RTA or NCEMA guidelines. All passengers should be inside the car, at all times. Maintain a minimum of 2-meter social distance at all times. Sanitize your hands and recovery gear after use. PS1. If you and your passenger cannot sit inside your vehicle for 3-4 hours please DO NOT JOIN CARNITY DRIVES. PS2. A Member who has RSVP the drive is RESPONSIBLE and LIABLE for their passenger's compliance. PS3. The above precautions apply to everyone irrespective of their vaccination status or schedule. PS4. You can confidentially submit the photo of any offender by sending an email to [email protected]. How to comply Read the drive post before arriving at the meeting point, so that you know your convoy numbering and radio channel. Arrive at the meeting point and switch on your radio to the pre-set frequency of the drive. Stop your vehicle at least 10-20 meters away from each other. Deflate your tires, while wearing a mask, and then go back inside your car. All briefings will be done on the radio now, so pay full attention to a briefing for your own safety. After the briefing, fall in your convoy position just before the drive starts. While driving if you get stuck, announce on the radio and be inside your car at all times. Trip lead and/or support will guide you on the radio for self-recovery or tow-rope recovery. While there is a stuck or a refusal, everyone else supposed to be inside their car at all times. You can only take a bio-break during the drive, by requesting trip lead permission. Once the drive is over exit out to inflate by maintaining 10-20 meters distance from each other. While inflating, only the driver supposed to be out and with the face mask at all times. After the drive, you can talk on the radio for any feedback, suggestions or help you need.2 points
